Falling for the Fake Fiance is the perfect long-lost childhood friends romance. It’s has just the right amount of sweet and spicy. Jill needs a husband to fulfill her late grandmother’s restriction for her inheritance. If it wasn’t for the fact that she’s a single mother trying to get her daughter into an expensive elite school. She has two months to accomplish this goal and with no prospects in her presents, she must resort to a speed dating event that her girlfriends convince her to attend. After the disastrous event, she escapes to her hotel room only to discover her friends set her up by directing her to the wrong room. When her old childhood friend opens the door, they spend the night catching up on the last ten years. Jill sees that her friend Aaron sure grew up to be one fine looking man and the military sure worked out in his favor. Aaron finds himself entwined and invested in Jill’s dilemma. He finds himself in a rollercoaster that takes him on a ride like never before. I loved this novel so it was a 5 star read for me.

This book was hot, and snarky, and absolutely Amazing. I have read all of Jennifer Blackwood's books, and she is one of my favorite authors. I haven't found a book of hers that I didn't like. I haven't read a lot of fake marriage/ relationship stories, and this was not my first. This is, however a top pick for me. I Loved everything about this story. I wish it were longer, for the sole reason that I just didn't want it to end. This is the second book in the series, but it can be read as a standalone...but who really does that?! Why not read them both?? I LOVED the first book, and this book features the little sister of Hottie McAir Marshall! Jill was fantastic, and Aaron (Hottie Mcsoldier) was...sigh...so swoontastic! I want more!! I Am demanding a third book featuring the sister of book one's main girl, Abby. You hear that JB? Demanding! Haha, but seriously, this book was amazing, the story was hot, and the characters were fantastic. I highly recommend this book to the world! BUY IT! A "one click" read no doubt!

This quick read was sweet and sexy. Characters were cute, two friends helping each other out and finding love in the end. I also love the fake fiancé to real love story.

A fun fake engagement story!

Jill and Aaron were friends and neighbors for years while growing up, a fact that helps this fairly short, very steamy fake-to-real romance work. Ms. Blackwood's writing gave this story the perfect blend of humor and romance--I laughed out loud nearly as much as I swooned while reading. Her characters feel real, and are likable despite their flaws (like geez, how can it take them almost a week to realize that they can't live without each other? Wink, wink...)

I've had this author on my TBR radar for quite some time now, and will definitely be using my experience with this story as an excuse to go back and check out her backlist (especially book one in this series, Snowpocalypse. Because snopocalypse...someone might as well be benefiting from an excess of snow...)

Rating: 4 stars / B+

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I enjoy Jennifer Blackwood, and I enjoyed this overall.

The plot was a little predictable, but that is the way it often is in romance, as there are the expectations of a story that will follow a certain pattern, and have an expected ending, and that is ok. What matters is the ride getting to that expected end. This was a fun ride, even though the topic/situation they find themselves in isn't the most original, I found I didn't care, because I was enjoying it overall.

Jill and Aaron had wonderful chemistry and I enjoyed them together, I thought they worked well, and you believed the instant attraction as they had grown up together, so they were not total strangers, even though life had led them in different directions. I liked this, and I think it helps with the ability to believe the events of the story.

I enjoy Jennifer Blackwood, and I was hoping to like this one as much as I did the first in the Snowpocalypse series, which I didn't...but I enjoyed it, it was well written, it was enjoyable, and I liked the characters.

I do recommend this title.

Falling for the Fake Fiance by Jennifer Blackwood was such a great read!

This book has everything you could ever want in a novel! Some romance, steam, sexiness, emotional sentiments, and a slightly forbidden love. Jill and Aaron were two characters perfectly suited for one another. They had a connection that went so much deeper than a normal physical relationship. Instead, they went through a situation not many people go through and were able to get close to one another.

This is another great read from Jennifer, and I can't wait to read more books from her in the future!
4/5 Stars!

Having really enjoyed “The Rule Book”, book 1 of The Rule Breakers series, by Jennifer Blackwood, I had high hopes for this new series. You see, I’m a big fan of a strong heroine with a sassy mouth that keeps a hero on his toes. So far both books here have fallen short of my expectations. They’ve come across as more steam that a true romantic connection.

This story featured a “barely knew each other in high school” backdrop where the blushing, gorgeous heroine was in a different, much higher, elite, social stratosphere that had the hero who thought he wasn’t worthy of breathing her same air. Yeah, she was out of his league, and he admired her from afar. Lucky for her, now he’s a hunky, ex-military, handyman soon to leave their hometown for a high paying private security job. Yeah, he’s gone from gangly, geek to God’s gift of eye candy to women, but he’s still shy and feels awkward around her, except in the bedroom apparently. Also, when he takes the notion to whisper naughty/suggestive things in her ear when they are around other people.

Both of them, in fact, seem to blush/feel awkward around one another, except when the clothes come off, to the point I started to feel embarrassed for them. Maybe it’s because I’m not a big fan of either main couple ever feeling unworthy/unnoticed by the other that I just couldn’t get into this romantic tale. Sure, it was meant to be sweet, but I didn’t find it particularly engaging. I’m also not big on the overly done, repetitive “let’s just do a one night stand” mantra that has them both trying to convince themselves not to look for something more meaningful.

Her fangirling “He’s so hot now” thoughts got old, too. Considering her poor choice in the man who got her pregnant then left her high and dry years ago didn’t make her stand out as that great of a catch, as well.

So ultimately it is up to you if this set-up appeals to you. I wish the author all the best. I just didn’t overly fall for this series so far.

Title: Falling for the Fake Fiance, Series: Snowpocalypse (Book 2), Author: Jennifer Blackwood, Pages: 180, VERY steamy read with lusty language, wasn’t good enough for her in high school, too much blushing, heroine has a child, hero set on leaving town, ex-military hero, did not finish ARC, wasn't particularly engaging, good guy hero, sweet heroine.

Book 1 - Landing the Air Marshall
Book 2 - Falling for the Fake Fiance

I REALLY enjoyed this book - from beginning to end! Jill is a really relatable character and you can't help but be in her corner as she tries to navigate life as a single mother to an exceptionally bright daughter (this really hit close to home for me as I was a single mother to an exceptionally bright daughter once upon a time). Her friends are hilarious and exactly the type of #GirlGang I'd love to be a part of.

I thought the introduction of Aaron as a resolution to Jill's inheritance conundrum was genius! Their chemistry is off the charts and the banter between the two of them is EVERYTHING! I would've gladly gobbled up at least 100 more pages of the two of them interacting. Aaron is the epitome of a book boyfriend - gorgeous, hard-working, kind, sexy, and a dirty talker. I even loved Jill's daughter Emily - all of the characters were well thought out and that can be difficult to do in a shorter book. I give Falling For the Fake Fiance 4.5 out of 5 wine glasses and I look forward to reading a lot more from Jennifer Blackwood!

I absolutely loved this book! I loved the author's witty personality that shone through in her writing.
Jill is such a strong character and I loved how fierce she was. She still sacrifices herself to ensure that everyone else is happy.
Aaron's character totally made me swoon. He is so kind hearted. I loved how he looks after Jill but still allows her to be independent.
This book had me giggling my way through and was so fun to read. I would definitely recommend it and have already done so to a bunch of my reader friends!

Jill was to get a quarter of her grandmother’s- Grammy- estate but will only get the money if she is married by her thirtieth birthday which was in two months. If Jill is not married the money will go to her grandmother’s favorite charity. Jill had been closer to her grandmother then her mother Deborah. Jill had a daughter named Emily who was seven years old who was very smart and went to a private school. Emily’s father- Jake- had not even stayed around to see what sex Emily was instead when Jill was in labor he stole her bank card and went to a casino. Every guy Jill ended up with just seemed to be garbage. Jill’s best friend’s were Mia and Kate. Jill was worried about keeping Emily at Brighton College Prep School. Jill wanted nothing more than to be out of her mother- Deborah’s and brother- Gage’s debt. They had been helping Jill for the last year pay the private school’s tuition. Maybe Jill had lost the ability to love. Then Jill let Kate talk her into a single’s speed dial social but that wasn’t going to well. Then Jill left the social to go up to the room Kate had said she was in when she knocked Aaron opened the door. Jill hadn’t seen Aaron in eleven years. Aaron had just got out of the army and was helping his father with his business until he started a job in D C.
I like this story a lot. It had my interest from the first page of this book until the last. But it did drag a little for me. I liked the plot and the pace for the most part. I loved Jill and Aaron together and how Aaron was with Emily. I was rooting for Aaron and Jill. I also thought Emily added a lot to the story and enjoyed her. I did feel this was a little unrealistic that all of sudden Jill are Aaron realize they are in love but still enjoyed it. I loved the characters and the ins and outs and I recommend.

Fake Fiance is one of those tropes that reel me in on it’s premise of angst driven, will they won’t they fall for each other. Jennifer Blackwood’s newest addition to this trope was everything I expect and more!

In Falling for the Fake Fiancee, Blackwood introduces us to Jill Michaels, the sister of Gage Michaels whom we previously met in the first Snowpocalypse novel, Landing the Air Marshal. Now, you don’t have to read Gage’s story in order to read Jill’s. Falling for the Fake Fiancee stands up all on it’s own and honestly, I may not have caught on it was even book two in a series had I not read the first novel.

Must like Landing the Air Marshal, Blackwood starts this book off with a bang. Literally. Jill Michaels runs into her childhood friend and neighbor, Aaron during the biggest snowstorm the Carolinas have ever seen. Being from the South, we know that’s probably about 3 inches of snow. :) All kidding aside, it’s an insta-love moment between Jill and Aaron. Normally, I am not a huge fan of insta-love and lust. I need that buildup of emotion to gut my soul. However, Blackwood plays this one off effortlessly by developing the depth of feelings after that initial hit between the sheets and making me fall head over heels for the boy next door.

Falling for the Fake Fiancee was a fun, heart warming novel that left my insides all warm and fuzzy. Blackwood continues to deliver great books for readers to fall in love with. I can’t wait to pick up another book from this author.
