3.5 out of 5 stars!! This novel follows the same plot that Ms. Marinelli’s “The Innocent’s Secret Baby” did. Only this time the main male lead is Raul’s nemesis Bastiano. We follow how Bastiano has dealt with his past experiences and we FINALLY learn the truth about EVERYTHING. And within the midst of all of that, we watch as he starts a partial relationship with Sophie and how everything enfolds between them. Do they have the beginnings of something wonderful together or will it end in shambles too?
Okay I can truthfully say I enjoyed Bastiano and his novel a WHOLE lot more than I did “The Innocent’s Secret Baby.” Mostly because I felt Bastiano had more of a reason for his behavior than Raul did, and I liked Bastiano as a “person,” along with how he treated Sophie, a lot more than I did Raul. Not that this novel didn’t have its own faults, like how some scenes felt rushed or the few scenes where Bastiano just acted like a plan butt-head, yet it was intriguing enough that my interest in it was held throughout the novel.
Yet this novel would not have worked without, Bastiano’s true counterpart, Sophie. Sophie and Bastiano understood one another in a way that gave them no issues with listening to each other’s thoughts/beliefs and their backgrounds kindly. In addition, because of how matched they are, it made it easy to root for them as a couple. They just truly completed one another, all for the better.
Because of the way this novel is written, it is a true standalone so you won’t feel lost at all.
I recommend it to those wanting a fast-paced contemporary “baby daddy” romance.

This charming romance features Bastiano, a billionaire property developer, with a traumatic past and Sophie, a chambermaid. Both have escaped from their pasts and both are relatively alone in the world. A tentative relationship begins well when the two meet at the hotel Sophie is working at, but become complicated when Sophie loses her job and discovers she's pregnant.
An unwelcome truth makes Bastiano realise he must make things right with Sophie and tracks her down only to discover her secret pregnancy. This story centres more around Bastiano as he uncovers details from his past and tries to make amends with Sophie.
Well worth reading. An engaging story which will keep you turning the pages.

Sicilian's Baby of Shame (Billionaires & One-Night Heirs #3)
by Carol Marinelli
Wow what a different addition to the series. I was perhaps expecting something a little different in this one. I wanted more passion more action. It is still a good read, just not the great read I have come to expect from this author. After reading the series, I sincerely wanted some explosions inside the story. However, what I got was an engaging read that is a little sex, a lot sex, and a very small story to back it up. Though even with those downfalls it was a decent read. I was given this book in return for an honest review. Anna Swedenmom

This is the 3rd book in the series. It is Sophie and Bastiano's story. She works in the Grand Lucia Hotel. She brings him breakfast. He is entranced by her. They have a one night stand. She is accused of stealing his ring. It is found out that it was not her. She runs away. He finds out she is pregnant. He goes to find her. He wants her to marry him. She wants love. They marry and he realizes he loves her.. it was not an easy road for them. The book was well written. I am sorry the series is over.

I have mixed feeling about this one. I liked the overall romance of Sophie & Bastiano, but I absolutely loathed Bastniano's backstory with the other woman. It just ruins the story for me when an author includes OM/OW - past or present. The fact that he was only 17 and the OW 35, it just came across as icky for me and it lost me.

This was a quick and interesting read. As usual, it was great to see the hero grovel.

This book was pretty good and I read it in one day. This book is following the characters from a previous book I read and this one is better. Bastiano and Sophie have great chemistry and the story has a good flow. My only complaint is that they spend so much time apart. It takes many chapters to warm up to your characters if they're never in the same room. Anyway I liked them both and I would recommend this book.

This one lost my attention early on....I read the first one and this one is about his business rival. He is hell bent on revenge and is a cold fish. Of course the heroine falls pregnant, and he must do the right thing by her. I lost my train of thought more than once reading this.

The story seemed stilted, not as smooth flowing as Ms. Marinelli's books usually are. There wasn't much personality to the characters. Felt like reading a book that had been originally written in one language and translated to English.

I enjoyed my second story in this trilogy of books. I like how the two characters met and how Sophie on that one particular day threw all caution to the wind and went with her instincts. Two highly unlikely characters to get a happy ever after together did so in a story that was entertaining, unique and a very interesting read.
I love how Bastiano was portrayed to the outside world as an unlikeable chap but from Sophie's eyes she's seen nothing but "nice". I was intrigued by his back story and am very much looking forward to Sophie's friends story where she is marrying the Sultan!
A story I literally made myself finish in one sitting, so bleary eyed this morning and one that I recommend to all who love something different, something that pushes boundaries on the characters and anyone who loves Carol Marinelli's wonderful world of imagination.
