A board book about animals trying to figure out what a small red potty is - is it a bed, a hat, a bucket? This is a funny story that can help make the potty more interesting to reluctant toddlers. It is an easy read with simple words.

Note: I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley. I was not compensated in any other fashion for the review and the opinions reflected below are entirely my own. Special thanks to the publisher and author for providing the copy.

What is this strange shaped red thing??
I love the clear illustrations in this book and the catchy descriptions of the potty changing hands and being used for various purposes. The friendly-looking animals each come across the potty as it bounces their way and illustrate how they would use it.

My three-year-old grandson is currently potty training and has already used the potty as a receptacle for his cars. He was quickly involved with this book and immediately wanted a re-read when we had finished. We just had to swap the hare for a rabbit as we have pet rabbits!
My granddaughter is two and also potty training, I'm sure she will love it as well.

Ideal for making the potty less of a threat and more of a fun item.
4.5 stars, rounded up.

This was an adorable picture book! It was funny and full of cute illustrations. Some animals find a little red potty for small children. They have no idea that it is a potty and each animal thinks it is something else. The animals do funny things with the potty. This is a great book for the young child who is learning to use a potty or is already potty trained!

For the potty-training set. A red potty seemingly falls from the sky. Seal, elephant, rhino, bear, dog, cat, crab, seagull, etc. think of various uses for the strange contraption--a house, a jar, a bucket, a hat, a circus toy, a boat, a flower vase and so forth. In the end, Hare claims it as his own, "my potty." SImply and colorfully illustrated.

This is a delightful little toddlers book with a fun story about what you could use a potty for. The illustrations are excellent, the story is funny and engaging and my granddaughter loved it and giggled at the antics of the animals and it is now one of our favourite stories.

"An unusual object goes pling-plong-plang-pling-plop and lands on Dog's head. Is it a hat? Not according to Bear, and the other animals, who each have their own ideas about how to use it."

My Potty is about a little red potty. All the different animals take a guess as to what this object is, and how it is supposed to be used. Of course, the fun comes when the animals’ guess is not a potty. For example, Dog thinks it’s a hat, which generates laughter from the parent and the child.

Toddler J enjoys interacting with books and their stories. So when an animal guesses incorrectly, she will cry out, “No!” shaking her head with a big grin on her face.

The language is basic, making it easy for the toddler who has heard the story just a few times to be able to repeat or “read along” with the parent.

Fun story about a potty. Bright illustrations. All animals imagine the potty to be something else and at last the hare tells that it is a potty

I can see my story time children laughing out loud at this one so I can't wait to order it for my library!

I received this ARC from Netgalley for an honest review.
Several animals come across a new toy, but was is it? It could be a hat, or a bed or even a circus toy. One by one the animals make a suggested until rabbit comes along and says that it is his potty. Kind of a strange book but the illustrations are bright and fun. I could see this as a read aloud book as you ask the kids if the item is a hat or a bed.

I LOVED this book- so adorable! I am planning to buy this book for my nephew who is currently in the process of being potty trained. I think he would appreciate the silliness of the book and it may encourage him to continue using the "potty". The silliness of the book makes it more relatable and engaging for young children.

This is a great little book to read to little ones that are starting / in the process of potty training, or even those that are past that stage and will be able to get a giggle out of this. The full-page illustrations are lovely, and the text is short and sweet. It's the type of book that's short enough to read again when your child inevitably shouts 'again, again!' It'll also be great fun to identify all the animals in the pictures.

The premise of this story reminds me of the old movie The Gods Must Be Crazy, only with a little kid’s potty rather than a Coke bottle. Every animal who comes across it uses it for a different thing, none of them knowing what it’s actually for. So after finding out what it really is, does Dog feel a little bit sick after having it on his head? (Well, maybe not a dog.) And how did it not break with the elephant balancing on it like that?
Cute story, well-drawn.

This is a very cute book. Storytime kids I know will love this as they are typically at the age of potty training. I know I'll have them giggling in no time with this title.

Pretty funny story of animals finding a potty and not knowing what it is until the end when a small animal uses it as it is his potty. Potty training at it's best! Loved the story and the illustrations!

Who knew a potty could be so many things: a boat, a hat, a bed. This was a fun book that takes recycling to an entirely new level. That is until Hare gets a hold of it. The illustrations are adorable and simple, but fun. Overall, a very different type of potty book, one that I enjoyed very much.

This is a very simple book that babies and toddlers will love. It follows the story of a “potty” and what different creatures believe it is, from a flower pot to a toy to a hat. It’s a very quick story. From the title, I would have thought the book would be about using the potty, but again a quick read that toddlers will giggle at.

Entertaining and my 2 year old wanted to read it again but not a story that motivates a Chile to sie on the potty.

A fun book with lovely animal illustrations. Potty training is always a good topic for a toddler book and it is handled here with humour..
