I was absolutely enthralled with Talk British To Me right from the first chapter. It was light, funny and outright adorable. Mateo and Teague were just perfect.

Mateo was egotistical, sexy as hell, sweet and just plain fun.

Teague was original, adorable. She was everything a girl should be all rolled into one.

Mateo was off-limits in more ways than one.

Teague knew Mateo was out of her reach but couldn’t help lusting after him.

Mateo had a secret.

Teague just wanted her own happily-ever-after.

Put all this together and you have the makings of a hell of a story with a storyline that was bright and interesting.

Between the banter at the coffee shop, the banter between Mateo and Teague, the comments about Bennett and everyone being totally in love with him, Mrs. Gallagher and the stream of demanding brides, and a little girl that had Tayo’s number … I laughed through a lot of this story. I do know that I didn’t stop smiling. I was thrilled with the way the story flowed and with all the characters. And, I would be totally remiss if I didn’t mention just how compatible everyone in the story was. There was not one character that I absolutely despised … Harper, Elliot, Levi, Madison, even Gabrielle didn’t really get under my skin. I loved the sexual innuendos by Mateo and Teagues come-backs. I loved how they just finally gave in and went for it knowing that it couldn’t go anywhere. I loved how Mateo was there just when Teague needed him and how her family greeted him with open arms, well, most of them. Most of all, I loved how, when it came down to it, Mateo realized what was missing in his life and decided to just go for it.

Robin Bielman is a new to me author and I really want to read more from her. She has a way with telling a story that really kept me invested in the characters and wondering just how she was going to bring them together. Her writing was fresh and witty – she knows how to write romance. Her characters were sexy and sweet – she knew just the right time to finally bring them together. The story was definitely over a little too quick for me and I hope to read a lot more of her books.

Teague is really trying hard to stay away from Mateo. He is too cute and he knows it. She recently got dumped by the only guy she has ever dated and is feeling a little insecure. Plus Mateo just happens to be her new boss's son. Teague cant help but be charmed by Mateo but she tries so hard to keep her heart out of the equation.

There is just something about Teague that draws Mateo in even though he knows she is not the one night kind of girl. He knows he is in no position to be what she needs due to his job as "The Dating Guy" on a local radio show. Mateo wants Teague but he also wants the single life. He is kind of at a crossroads of what he should do.

At first I really liked Mateo. Mateo really was a good guy. When reading the synopsis I thought he would come across like a douche but he didn't. He was just very confident. The one thing that keep me from loving him was his relentless pursuit of Teague when he knew he would eventually hurt her in some way. I wish he would have manned up a little earlier in the story. I liked Teague. She was just a little to sheltered to me. She blushed every time Mateo said something to her. I really liked the friendship between Teague and Mateo. I'm a sucker for characters growing from friends to a more intimate relationship. I liked the conflict and resolution of the story. Both felt realistic to me. I also liked the secondary characters in this story. So much happened with them I'm wondering whose story will be next. I'm leaning towards Harper and Levi because there is some connection from the past there but I would also like Madison to get a happy ending.

Overall I did like this book and would recommend it to others. I really look forward to reading about other characters in this series. 3.5 stars

Thank you Robin Bielman and thank you Sarah Ferguson from the Social Butterfly for the ARC.
Teague is a waitress who wants to write and travel. She's brave and honest. She finds a new job, a big challenge. She's also a fan of Bennett, the guy with the sexy voice and sexy english accent who has an interesting show on the radio. Bennett gives dating advices... a subject he knows a lot about!
"I can't tell underneath his cocky charm and bad boy personality he's a nice person."
---> this sentence perfectly sum up Mateo. (MATEO#BENNETT)
In the first chapter from his pov i wanted to stop reading. He's like "i'm the best at everything, i'm the sexiest guy in the world, i know women better than anyone, and am the best in bed etc..."
Seriously how can you fall for a guy so full of himself? But that was an ARC , a generous gift so i didn't stop. And i don't regret it. Mateo is a good guy. He's polite, gentleman, generous, honest, funny, totally surprising. I really like his relationship with his friends, his neighbor Zoe, and Maddie...
Teague is the girl who can't fall for a cocky bastard... And she deserves better than an arrogant manwhore. She's funny and strong, and smart. Thanks to Mateo and her best friend and her new boss, she becomes more confident and maybe will find a way to make her dreams come true.
Their relationship is beautiful, they are both beautiful inside and out.
I'm not a big fan of arrogant guy and dirty talk so that's not a 5* for me but a 4*. ;-)

Omg! I loved this book! A captivating, sensual story as only “Robin Bielman” can write. Hooked from page one. Compelling, funny, sizzling, and warm fuzzies with a side of happy signs. This series is just going to get better with each new book and this is a fabulous start to the series. Seriously!?! What genre can’t “Robin Bielman” write!! I would absolutely and definitely recommend both this author and this series to all book lovers out there.

Normally I don’t like audiobooks much because I get sidetracked easily and miss a lot of the book but I found myself wishing I had it on audio so I could hear him talking. Le Sigh... ha. But seriously, I really enjoyed this book. Devoured it in one day. Great characters and a more unique storyline I never read before. Really good! Would recommend.

Mateo knows women and passes on this knowledge across the airwaves every week on L. A.’s highest rated morning show. His job, with all its grind and perks, is to go on dates and give his report on-air. The only drawback is that he can’t reveal his true identity and can’t have a girlfriend. It’s written in his contract even. He loves his job and wouldn’t change it for the world, until he runs into the sweetest woman he’s ever laid eyes on. The only problem is that she won’t give him the time of day, especially when he reveals he’s her boss’ son. The more he’s around her, the more he starts to dislike his job and wants nothing more than to be Teague’s main squeeze. Him, the one man in Los Angeles who every woman wants to sleep with and every guy is envious of, is willing to throw it all away to be the man Teague deserves. Can he reveal his secret to her and will she love him anyway when she learns the truth or will she just love him for his fake British accent?

I’m a sucker for a man with a British accent so when I saw this on Netgalley, I knew I had to read it. It is my first Robin Bielman novel but more on that later.

This is a great new adult romance with a wide cast of characters. There’s Mateo, the sexy player who hides his mended heart until he meets a woman worthy. Then there’s Teague, our heroine and lovable friend. She’s left home to make it on her own in L.A. A chance meeting with the hottest wedding planner in the city gives her the career she’s always dreamt of. Then there’s Mateo’s roommates, the cutest little girl who helps Mateo see reason as well as Teague’s roommate. All combine to provide a laugh-a-minute dialogue peppered with sexual tension and a lesson in taking risks.

Talk British to Me is a scintillating yet refreshing take on romantic comedy and I loved every minute of it. I want more! Oh wait, there’s two more books. I’ll be reading those next.

If you’re looking for a flirty romantic comedy with depth, pick up Talk British to Me! Highly recommend!

A delicious spin on the commitment-phobe!

Mateo isn't just a confirmed bachelor - he's contractually obligated to remain one! This unique premise allows him to pursue Teague as just another conquest, but he slowly realizes that she's not like any other woman, and she's definitely not the casual kind. His inner conflict is matched by her determination not to lose the very well-paying -- yet extremely demanding -- job that she just started, though if her boss knew she was interested in Mateo she'd be out on the streets.

The writing is stellar - the author is a true wordsmith who can draw a beautifully descriptive picture without weighing the reader down in minutiae. The humor is refreshing, the emotions run high, and the steam is hot enough to curl your toes as well as the pages of your kindle. This is a fun book to read, with delightful characters and heartfelt romantic gestures. I loved every bit of it. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Great read, the story of Teague and Mateo. After a chance meeting one night in a bar they keep bumping in to each other. Attracted to each other but both think they are looking for different things in life, so will they take a chance on each other?

Looking forward to reading the rest of this series!

"Talk British to Me" by Robin Bielman.

My first time reading that author.

Mixed feelings about this book.
I generally love it when a secret is revealed and you see people's reaction... but here you wait for the end of the book for it to happen and well, it's like "I lied to you" and the reaction is like "oh well".

I still enjoyed the story though.
Well written, interesting characters, entertaining dialogues...

And I loved the cover!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for letting me read this book for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

The first book in the Wherever You Go series and my first read by this author. Talk British to Me is a quirky, romantic read and I thoroughly enjoyed this entertaining story and its characters. I will be looking to read more by this author

This is an entertaining romance that I thoroughly enjoyed. Teague is a barista taking classes towards her dream job, while Mateo is a fake British dating guru on the radio. When they meet, there are instant sparks, but Teague is the kind of girl looking for forever and Mateo is required to stay single as part of his job contract. What follows is lots of push/pull as the complications mount, starting with Teague working for Meteo's mom.

I enjoyed the writers writing style and loved the characters, however, at times Teague felt like a bit of a doormat and I wish she had found her inner strength sooner. Additionally, while the story has this great build up, the ending felt rushed and didn't give adequate time to overcoming the secrets that were revealed.. However, even with these comments, this book is a winner and I'm looking forward to reading more of the author's work.

OMG!!! I absolutely adored this book!!! Robin Bielman is a new-to-me author and she totally knocked my socks off. It was everything I look for in a book. It was so, so good. I read it in one-sitting. I could not put it down.

We start off meeting Teague, a recent transplant to Los Angeles. I love her! I felt so connected to her. She's a strong independent woman who is trying to make it on her own. She works at a coffeeshop with her bestie and, while she loves it (I would too!), she dreams of bigger things. She then gets roped into a job that she doesn't necessarily want, but won't turn down, and ends up loving it. She has been burned in the past so she's on a self-imposed strike from the opposite sex.

Enter Mateo. Oh. My. God. He's rightfully taken a spot as one of my top favorite book boyfriends. Oh. My. God. Did I say that already??? Well... yeah. He's something. He's all the things. He's everything!!! Major swoons. Anywho... he's a former soccer stud, does lots of charity work, and has a secret job that no one knows about. Oh, and he has the most amazing relationship with one girl in particular. Again with the major swoons.

The meeting between these two is epic. I was laughing so hard. The chemistry was instant and palpable. As usual, they each attempt to deny it, each for different reasons, and it works for awhile. But they just can't stay away from each other. And they become friends. Best friends, I'd say. But there is something holding Mateo back, namely this secret job. He has signed a contract that states he must remain single. He's also been burned in the past and has sworn off relationships, so he thought this was a win-win.

The witty banter between them was great. The chemistry was off-the-charts. The sexual tension. Oh god. Wow! This is a slow burn of the best kind. When that fire finally ignited though. Oh. My. God. *faints* So hot. Mateo is all kinds of sexy. *fans face* And the way he is with Teague is so sexy. He's the kind of guy every girl wants. The kind who makes you feel beautiful and sexy and worshipped and as if you're the only girl in the world. Gah!!!

There were times that I really wanted to bonk them both over the head and say "WTF?!?!?", especially Mateo. LOL!!! But I enjoy that kind of stuff. It can't be all smooth sailing, that's not realistic at all. I like to see the struggle, and even though it hurts one or both parties, it's totally worth it in the end.

This is easily one of the best books I've read in awhile. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a book featuring Harper, or Madison, or better yet, one of each! If you like a romantic comedy with a delicious Hero, an amazing Heroine, a super sizzling slow burn, a wee hint of drama, and a glorious cast of secondary characters, then this is the book for you! I loved, loved, loved it!

This was a fun story to watch unfold, and a perfect summer read. Teague is a recent college graduate in the very relatable position of wanting independence but not knowing exactly what to do with the rest of her life. Through chance meetings and the encouragement of her best friend to step out of her comfort zone, Teague ends up with both a more exciting job as assistant to a wedding planner, and with a new crush/friend in Mateo. I loved seeing their friendship/flirtation develop from both their points of view. Both of them were trying to resist because they each thought they wanted an outcome the other was totally opposed to. There were a lot of sweet moments in the book and interesting dates.

Teague is currently working as a barista and taking a few online classes as she can. Her dream is to be a travel blogger. After a morning coffee delivery to a big client, she suddenly has another job – assistant to a big wedding planner. Turns out her new boss is the mother of the guy she’s been eyeing at the coffee shop.

Mateo is a bit of a trust fund baby, and everyone thinks he’s helping out at a soccer camp for kids. Which, he is. But what no one knows is he’s also the Dating Guy on the popular radio talk show, giving out relationship advice from a guy’s perspective.

Here's the thing -- this one had potential. And for the most part, it was okay --- though I was somewhat bored and felt like everything was dragging on and going nowhere. But that alone is not enough for this rating.

Here’s what dragged my rating down.

First, the fact that his secret identity is not revealed to her until the last fucking chapter, and she doesn't even blink about being lied to or anything, she's just like "Oh, cool, now let's ride off into the sunset forever!". I hate when this happens, because I have a hard time trusting and believing in a couple’s HEA if one person has been lying or keeping a secret from the other until the very end. Nope nope nope.

Again, that alone isn’t enough to result in the final rating, but it definitely contributed to it!

But here was my biggest problem, and one that is treated like a throwaway comment and scene, which only pissed me off MORE because it’s a serious fucking problem: there's a scene where the hero cannot stay in the same room as the DRUNK, NAKED, AND SLEEPING heroine because he cannot "control" himself, so he has to leave, all while still thinking about what he wants to do to her.

Direct quote here for why he cannot get into the bed and GO TO SLEEP BESIDE HER OUT-COLD-DRUNK-ASS:
“There Is no fucking way I can get into bed with her now and remain a gentleman.”

Fuck this shit, why does this still show up in romancelandia in 20-fucking-18? STOP IT.

And it’s not like this is the only book with this shit in it. Nope, just since I started doing the podcast, I know I’ve had this same rant at least two other times. In just over 6 months. AND THAT’S JUST FROM WHAT I AM READING, not from what is in the market overall.

Authors, readers, everyone: stop having your character battling for control – and losing – when they’re around their vulnerable, non-consenting partner. Because that’s just one heartbeat away from turning into a rape scene. Burn this type of scene to the ground and don’t let it come back, ever.

Ugh, I’ll stop there because I could yell about this some more but I’d just be repeating myself and rage screaming into the abyss. Neither of which are helpful.

Back to the book: The one saving grace, and probably the only reason I'm rounding up to 1 1/2 Stars, is the dirty talk, when the sex finally shows up, was pretty hot -- though I also wanted more of it. Here’s a little tease:

“Watch,” he says huskily, and slowly eases himself out. “Watch the way we fuck.” I want to cry when he draws back, but then I glance down to where our bodies meet and before he pulls fully out, he stops. Freezes. Actually looking at us so intimately connected is the most erotic thing I’ve ever seen. “Take a deep breath. Can you smell it?” he asks. Then he lazily pushes back in. Only to repeat the slow drag back out. I’m mesmerized. And so on fire, I need him buried to the hilt again. “The sex,” he adds, groaning. “Yes,” I say breathlessly. I can smell the sex. Smell it. See it. Taste it. I’m on sensory overload, and it feels incredible. Mateo feels incredible. “Now please bury your cock back inside me.” “Fuck, I love when you talk like that.” He pounds back into me, driving me wild."

With the exception of the “can’t control myself” scene, Talk British to Me wasn’t a full-on rage-inducing read. But this book had potential that was never reached and left me feeling like I had just wasted days of my life reading it. Oh, and I still want to kick Mateo in the nuts until he stops with his “I can’t control my dick” bullshit. That shit does not belong in our romances. Or in real life. Or anywhere else, for that matter. JUST STOP IT.

Witty, funny, swoony, heartfelt – everything rolled up into one delightful read.

Teague is learning her way in her first foray into being independent. The way she lands a new job gives us real insight into the person that she is – kind, caring, and willing to help anyone out of a fix. When she first sees Mateo – she recognizes him for the player he is and has no intention of “going there”.

The “Dating Guy” insights are hilarious. Is he cocky – to be sure, but it’s in such a charming way that you are as charmed as Teague becomes.

“Just because I hit it and quit it doesn’t mean I don’t treat my date like she walks on water.”

And his “Tayo” side – oh my – that will get your heart to fluttering.

I enjoyed this book immensely. Teague is a strong female character who is only willing to put up with so much and Mateo learns a lot about humility and putting others before himself.

Do not hesitate – you want to read this book!!

I submitted a request to the publisher to read and voluntarily review an advance reader's copy of this book.
