I loved the concept of this book - a twist on crushing on a boy with the band - and yet he's not with the band - loll! I read it in one night - just couldn't put it down! The case of mistaken identity was a fabulous idea and well executed by Amber Garza. Archer is swoon worthy and Kassidy is a girl worth rooting for. And, her mom is #hilarious (inside joke - read the book). You won't be disappointed with this story. I highly recommend it!

This book was a really sweet read and what I was in the exact mood for.

Archer is always foreshadowed by his twin, Ross who is the lead singer of The Playlisters. He can’t believe a girl like Kassidy can actually like him and not get swept up by his brother. But Kassidy has some issues she’s not ready to share with Archer yet despite their mutual attraction and Archer has been deceived before. Will it be too late when they both realise trust is a two-way street?

This book was pretty fun and refreshing. I love a rock-star romance but this one actually included the brother of the rockstar as the main lead which was actually pretty enjoyable. Archer has always lived in the shadow of his brother and plenty of girls have tried to get close to him in the hope of knowing his brother, even his crush. So when Archer’s path crosses with Kassidy at The Playlisters concert, he is pretty surprised to find a non-fan who had only come to the concert because of her best friend. I enjoyed the friendship between them but it was pretty clear they both had trust issues. Nonetheless, I loved the romance between them but I wanted more!

I understood Archer’s self-doubt about whether Kassidy wanted to be his real friend or was in just like the other girls but sometimes it went too far, even felt a little whiny. Kassidy’s issue was really a serious one and I was glad how she was able to forgive herself in the end. I definitely enjoyed the character development throughout the whole book. The minor characters were interesting to read about as well, especially Archer’s best friend.

Overall, I’m Not in the Band was a good read. The plot was neatly executed and I enjoyed the characters. I loved the chemistry between Archer and Kassidy. The writing was smooth and easy to read and the pace was even throughout the book.

Recommend it?

Yes.

I received a copy of this book from netgalley for review.

I'm Not in the Band was a quick read (read it all today). Kassidy and Archer had some serious flaws, but overall, they were cute. I like characters who aren't all perfect. Archer's jealousy of his boy band brother was kind of to be expected. Kassidy's fear of germs got to be a bit much, but I did like how she was working hard to figure out who she was and get over the fear. I liked the story and laughed quite a bit. My favorites ended up being Mac and Kassidy's mom.

I initially liked the text conversations from Archer's perspective, but they turned into telling instead of showing. The book would have been stronger if we'd spent more time seeing his friends and family through Kassidy's eyes rather than in awkward text. I did like, though, that we didn't have chapters from Archer's perspective with the same simple voice of Kassidy.

The writing was simple, that of someone's first book. Though this is actually the author's umpteenth novel. It made me appreciate some of my favorite contemporary authors more. There were a few passages that had me smiling, though, and that doesn't always happen for me.

All the conflict was Archer and Kassidy not talking to each other. And it was frustrating. Both the characters felt a lot younger than 17/18. And I didn't care for either of them.

This book wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either.

Kassidy and Sophie are sisters at the concert where Kass sees her ex friends including Katie, who used to try to help Kass by offering to go on runs with her to help her lose weight despite Kass now being a runner for her anxiety.

At the concert, Kass meets Archer, twin brother to Ross who's lead singer of the band playing. They both start at Oakhollow and drama ensues as Archer's ex tiffany went after Ross previously causing their break up despite her hanging round Archer still even though he likes Kass.

When Kass meets Ross for the first time at their home, he makes Archer jealous by offering to get them tickets easily for a concert which they wouldn't be able to see if Ross didn't have his contacts. Archer also isn't happy when Ross and Kass become Facebook friends which is a little much, as they are allowed to be friends!

I did like the characters despite Archer being a bit too over jealous and I really liked Kass's mum acting like a teenager more than the girls trying to be fun and youthful not just a typical strict parent figure unlike in most teen fiction books. Overall it was a really lovely read and one perfect for a summer night!

Many thanks to the publishers for allowing me to review this book for them!

I received a ARC e-book from the publisher via Netgalley.

Overall this was a cute book. I wish the two main characters would have had a little more happy interactions other than the drama on both sides. However that being said there wasn't THAT much drama. The characters were loveable with flaws and insecurities which always makes them feel more human. I honestly am hoping this would be a series so we can find out more about the brother and sister. It would be fun watch them find love too. I recommend this read as a fun and cute read.

I'm not in the Band is a cute story, but only if you take it with little expectations.
The story follows Archer, who's brother Ross is in the band The Playlisters and Kassidy, a girl who was dragged to the concert by her sister.
Archer likes that Kassidy knows nothing of his famous brother. Kassidy enjoys the fresh start Archer offers.
Through out the book it is implied that Kassidy is suffering from some past trauma, unfortunately it isn't revealed until till the final chapters. It left alot of text messages and the usual teen drama to fill the pages.
Cute, but nothing new or deep.

This was an okay book. There wasn't really anything wrong with it, but it wasn't really memorable either. It was the perfect time for me to read it though, after just finishing a book that had my mind racing, this was a nice break for me to just relax and read.

Things I Liked :
I liked the different formats for the different POV chapters. We get a lot of humor through Archer's chapters and his interactions with his friends in the multimedia text/status update style of his chapters. We get to really see Kassidy's fears and learn more about her through her more standard format.

I really liked the sibling relationships in this as well. Sophie and Kass are completely different, but still clearly love each other. And twins always are a bonus for me so Archer and Ross were a highlight, even though we don't see a ton of Ross.

Things I Didn't Like :
There were hints of Kassidy being "not like other girls" through the story and ugh. It just made me want to roll my eyes.

There was too much teasing about Kassidy's past and it too way too long to find out more about her history. And by then, I kind of didn't care.

The story was also a little heavy on the teenage pettiness and melodrama. I'm all for tropes and cliches, I would just like a little more to the story than just the cliche.

Overall, not a bad story, but not something that I'll remember next year. It was a nice and quick read, perfect after reading a ringer of a book.

This was a super sweet young teen romance about the new girl in school and the twin brother of a teen pop sensation.

Kassidy Milton has some issues, undisclosed at first, which have made her family tread on eggshells around her and have necessitated her changing schools in her senior year. Her older sister Sophie takes her to a pop concert (am I showing my age) for a group called the Playlisters, although Kassidy is not a fan, hasn't even heard their music truth be told, Sophie is the world's greatest fan. Wandering off to try to find some 'healthy' snacks, Kassidy bumps into Archer Devlin, twin brother of the lead singer of the Playlisters. Expecting a rabid fan girl, Archer is amused and flattered that Kassidy not only doesn't think he is his famous twin, she doesn't even like his music.

Kassidy has spent her life to date in the shadows, the less popular girl, the nerd, the DUFF if you like. She can't believe that this handsome popular boy wants to know her. For his part, Archer can't believe that Kassidy likes him and not his famous brother. There are secrets and jealousies and mean girls. I loved it, but I wonder if this is a book that moms like for their daughters.

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

I was provided with an ARC from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I didn't really mind the book. It was sweet and like the other Entangled Crush books, I enjoyed it. It was interesting with the way the storyline went, and it wasn't like any of the other books I had read before. I liked the characters and how they both had their own insecurities/demons, but I feel like it COULD have been better. I thought it was good that they wrote about problems: the jealousy, the anxiety. It was a sweet book, a classic teen read (my favourite).
Overall, this book was ok. I still enjoyed it, but there are other books from this Imprint that I like more.
Congratulations to the author and the publisher on this book.

This was such a sweet book. It was a fast and easy read. Archer and Kassidy were so cute with their flirting in the beginning and I liked how the relationship slowly worked its way out. I felt like I really got to know the characters. I took one star off because it sometimes felt like character that were seniors in high school were acting a little like they were in middle school. They seemed a little more innocent then I expected. I do hope that there will be another in the series.

This book was super adorable. We have the main characters Kassidy , who is trying to move on after a devastating even and then we have Archer, who is tired of being used and living in his famous brothers shadow. I'm giving this book 3.5 stars. Almost four I just would have been a little longer. Also I would have liked to see more of the characters together. Aside from that is was a cute and easy read that gave me all times of feels. Plus I also really enjoyed kassidy's mother #awesome lol ( if you've read it you will get the joke)

'I'm Not in the Band' is a novel about jealousy, anxiety, loss and love. Archer is a twin brother of Ross (boyband member), his life has changed since his brother has become a celebrity, Now every girl wants to know Archer in order to get closer to Ross. But then he meets Kassidy who doesn't even know who Ross is. They fall in love, but not everything is as easy as it seems. Kassidy has some secrets from her past. She was also a shadow of someone. Someone who is now dead.
I enjoyed reading it mostly because of the sense of humour incorporated into the book. Archer is definitely the funny one.

A lovely little romantic read! I really enjoyed the characters and thought the story was well written. I am hoping to find that there will be a sequel involving siblings???
