Over-long, perhaps in an attempt to bring depth to the characters. Unfortunately it became repetitive and drawn out with unnecessary dialogue. Very predictable and the main character (consistently weeping and being consoled by others) was annoying, rather than sympathetic or inspiring. It’s taken me ages to force myself through this. Three stars only for the solid information worked into the story, regarding domestic violence.

Not typically my style but I have been enjoying branching out lately. From the cover that got my attention to the very last page I was swooning. Great Book.

I was hesitant to start this book from my shelf because I felt like it wasn't going to be enough to hold my attention and would be one of those books that I had to force myself to finish. I am go glad that I was wrong. This book is well-written and goes into the world of domestic violence and shelters without being too feminist and overwhelming to read (as this subject matter can be.) I loved how the friendships were strong with the four main characters and loved how everything came out in the end. Great read.

This is poignant look at Domestic Violence survivors and those who help them. I think this book will enlighten many people about the effects of domestic violence. Her Life is Showing is a touching and heartwrenching work. I highly recommend it.

I chose to read this book, as my daughter was once a victim of domestic violence. Although the mental scars are still there, i am glad to say that she found the strength to leave her abusive partner and is now in a very happy marriage. This book was so well written that one would be forgiven in believing it was non fiction. If one has never been in such a relationship, this novel is a must read as it's a real eye opener. .Even if you have, i would still highly recommend this novel.

My thanks to Netgalley and the Publishers. This is my honest review.

OMG. What a good book. It really gives you a look into domestic violence and not only who is effected by it, but the people who try to help them. I could not put this book down. The realness of it shook me to the core. I am not a victim of domestic violence but this book made me think about some of the remarks I have made in the past about victims of domestic violence and I do realize how wrong I was. This book explains why it may not be so easy to leave for some as it is others. This book will stay with me for a while, that is how absorbing it is. Awesome book!!! Thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for the ARC of this book in return for my honest review.

A decent read about the workings of a shelter for domestic violence victims and their children. A bit slow at times.
