Not my type of book, I tried to start it but just couldn't get into anything about this book!

This story was interesting on a few levels. To begin with, it was nothing like the usual historical romances that I have read in the past. Never before have I read about a titled man so willing to allow a child not of his blood to be claimed and have the title passed to them. Obviously it made sense when you consider the "curse" that Lord Hunter believed his family to be under.

I also had to question the "curse" that Rosa fell under. Although she was never mentioned as having one, this poor girl was under attack almost from the get-go. Unmarried, pregnant and exiled. Locked up by family, accosted by pick-pockets, being robbed.. how much can happen to one person before they become cursed?

Aside from those minor things, I really enjoyed this story. The banter between Rosa and Lord Hunter was amusing, and watching them fall in love was a fun ride. There were times when I wanted to smack them both for dancing around what was right in front of them, but all in all, I think the way it was done really worked for the story.

Overall, I do think this novel will still appeal to those who enjoy a historical romance with engaging characters that are able to suspend the usual "rules" when it comes to read such a novel. I would read more from this author!

A Ring for the Pregnant Debutante
by Laura Martin

This is a very opinion based review. Sorry! I enjoyed the story, even with what I consider elements that did not fit the right way. For example historical accuracy or time line events or even the series of calamities that occur. I took this for what it was instead, a story that was meant to entertain. Fiction! So, based upon that, I enjoyed this light read as a change of pace. I was given this book in return for an honest review. Anna Swedenmom

Full review soon.

I love the idea of historical romances set in Italy, but I do like them to be properly researched. I missed not being given a date for when this book is set.

There are some great ideas in this one, but there are also too many random - and randomly disappearing - characters, too many near-death experiences, and there's not enough focus in the chapters.

This is probably my favourite Harlequin/Mills and Boon line, but this one felt unfinished.

This is Rosa and Thomas's story. She is pregnant and sent away by her mother to her mother's family in Italy. Thomas is on an adventure to get away from a family illness. She meets him while she is trying to escape from her mother's family. He wants to marry her and take care of her. There are many twists and turns on their way to love. It was a very good book.
