If you are looking for the type of romance you can escape into for a while and just know that you will get all wrapped up in the characters and story this one is for you. I really enjoyed reading Mitcham and Lila's story with all of the little twists, tender moments and a little steam thrown in. Good Story!!

Another heartwarming and romantic story from Susan Meier! The heroine, Lila, is probably one of my favorites from this author. Lila is practical, smart, funny, and compassionate. I also like her backstory of being raised poor and in foster care, and her desire to find her mother. It comes with so much emotional baggage that she has to deal with personally and it makes her a very interesting character.

The hero is very sexy, also. Maybe it’s just that I find Spanish men terribly sexy. :) I also like the winery setting and that aspect of his business. His love for his brother and his confidence in who he has become is very attractive.

I have to admit, though, that the middle sagged a bit for me. It only picked up around the last third of the book when Lila’s past comes back into play in the storyline. The ending was very, very sweet. Overall, it was a very entertaining book!

MY RATING: 3/5 STARS

I was provided an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The boss's fake fiance by Susan Meier tells the story of one-sided love. PA Lila Ross has fallen head over heels for Mitch and he doesn't have the slightest clue.

When I first started reading this novel, I didn't know it was a Harlequin Romance series. I assumed it was a Harlequin Blaze or Desires and I blame Net Galley for not providing me a cover photo for me to see what exactly am I reading so the entire time I was waiting for hot sexy times but all I got was a story about love. I saw Lila's love for Mitch, her sadness that came from a broken family, and her falling in love with his big happy family in Spain. Which is great but it can be a tad boring, in my opinion.

The whole story developed naturally. There was no rushing into things and for that I'm very happy about. I also enjoyed the fact that family played a big role in this story. I loved Mitch's nanny. She was spunky and quirky so definitely don't mess with her.

However, with little to no conflict or angst or sexy times, I have to sadly give this an average star rating of 3/5 stars.

MY RECOMMENDATION:

Read it after you read the rest.

The Boss’s Fake Fiancée by Susan Meier was a nice read. I liked Mitcham & Lila as individuals and the plot was interesting, but it was just an okay read for me - nothing that would be memorable.

Some days you enjoy just reading an old fashioned romance. Mitcham is returning to Spain for his brother's wedding and to keep his Grandmother from smothering him with concern he convinces his assistant Lila to pose as his fake fiance. This story comes out exactly as you expect it to but is still a good read. Insight into the wine business and Spain's beautiful grape growing region. Very sweet and fun.

4 1/2 STARS!

An adorably sweet take on a dating the boss Cinderella style story! I really enjoyed both characters and the plot. It was fast moving and easy to read, some humor in there and a pleasant trip towards a happily ever after!

Mitcham Ochoa feels pressured into proving that he's over his ex-girlfriend when he has to travel home to be the best man at her wedding ... to his brother! When an oddball plan takes root to take a fake fiancee along for the trip, there's only one option available ... his mousy personal assistant!

Lila Ross has been crushing on her boss since the very first day she became his personal assistant, but he doesn't know she's alive other than as an employee. She's not so sure she can pull this ruse off, but with the use of his credit cards, she performs a magical make-over that has him seeing her as a sexy companion that will surely convince his family he's happily occupied elsewhere!

Beautiful romance between the boss and his PA. I loved that part of the action takes in Spain. A cute story with not much of anguish feelings but enjoyable nonetheless.

A wonderful read to while away a couple hours. Great characters, great story, great writing. It's the perfect read for a lazy day. What I particularly liked about it was that it was so easy to connect to the characters. They seemed so lifelike. Mitch and Lila could be your friends. They're down to earth, fun and hold the notion of family as important. I haven't really read anything else by this author, but I'm definitely going to change that.

I was disappointed with this read. I love romances but this did not deliver. Mitch was not a powerful hero. He wasn't even sensitive. He was snobbish at times and very unsure. His motives and reasons for most of what he did were shallow. It was said several times that he was successful and strong but none of his actions depicted a man of strength. He came across as flat and constantly second-guessed himself way too much. Lila had to mention constantly the difference between the Real Lila and Fake Lila. She seemed extremely immature. It was such a good premise but the execution made this story a strain to read. 1.5 stars.
