When I requested this book I thought it was brand new. But it is not. It is one I read in the 90's when I was very young under the authors other name Diana Blayne. Once I started reading it I remembered I had read it before. I remembered liking it so I kept reading it and to my shock I hated it.

The author should really have updated it for 2017 and changed some things. What I found hot and sexy in the 90's is not almost 30 years later. For one the readers meet 26 year old Gabi and she meets the hero, Marc 9 years before and he is 9 years older than her. So she is 17 to his 26 and she barely has developed. They never have sex but they play around alot but he body has not fully developed yet. I thought those scenes were kinda icky. It would be different if she was a mature 17 but she is a very young 17 and has been protected a lot.

Then 9 years later Joe who is Marc's brother hires Gabi and they start dating. Meanwhile Gabi claims revenge but still sees Marc with this other woman Lana. Everytime it hurts her and yet she comes back for more. I had to quit then.

This is just in Gabi's viewpoint with an occassional side we hear from like Gabi's father and I really wanted to hear from the others in more of prominent way especially Marc. I really hated this story and yet I loved it way back when it came out. The characters just were not attractive today and the author really should have updated the story.

Did I finish reading it no. I just could not. I hate reading a book where the heroine is in constant pain and that is how Gabi was as she watched Marc with Lana and it made no sense why she kept doing it. Her and Joe are just friends. Marc went on with his life but she never did and it made her a very weak heroine.

Some of the references seem dated making me think this might be a reprint. Typical Diana Palmer story. If you are a fan of her previous books, you will like this one.
