Felcity “Fliss” Knight needs to get out of New York. Like, yesterday! Her past is literally two doors down from her Manhattan apartment, so when her grandma calls telling her she had an emergency and requests Fliss’s twin sister Harriet come out to the Hampton for a few weeks to help her, Fliss pretends to be Harriet and jumps at the chance to literally escape her past.

Not gonna happen.

Seth Carlyle, Fliss’s past – as in her ex husband – is back home in the Hamptons and a chance meeting with Fliss ( under her Harriet disguise) has all those old feelings swirling in him. And in Fliss. Did she really think he wouldn’t recognize the love of his life? He goes along with her little subterfuge, but a series of events causes the truth to come out.

Fliss wants to put the past behind them, separately. Seth does, too, only he want to not only put the past away, but he wants a present and a future with his ex. Hoe he convinces Fliss to take a chance on them both is the crux of Holidays in the Hamptons.

Sarah Morgan has done it again. I read this book in a little under six hours because I could not put it down – nor did I want to. I simply had to find out of Seth could win Fliss over. Trust me, you’ll need to put aside an entire afternoon or evening to finish this book too, once you start it.
5 well deserved stars from me.

this was great. Fliss was full of expectations, surprises and feeling. Can't wait for Harriet's turn. I want to be friends with Fliss and go along on her ride of discovery.

Second-chance romance stories aren't usually my go-to read, but after meeting Fliss in New York, Actually, I knew I wanted her story and what a was sweet, heartfelt read it was. Fliss and Seth have a messy, misunderstood past, so when Seth comes back in the picture years later she doesn't know what to do. Thinking she's running away from him, Fliss instead runs right to him and is forced to face their past. It's hard for Fliss to rehash everything they went through but it makes for a heartwarming romance. There were times I felt things were a bit slow but I still very much enjoyed this novel and look forward to Harriet's book next!

Holiday in the Hamptons by Sarah Morgan was provided to me by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I have been on a Sarah Morgan binge reading spree since I first recieved New York, Actually from Netgalley. From there I have read Sleepless in Manhattan, Sunset in Central Park and then I read this book and Eva's story. (I'm still working on Eva's story.)

There's something about these stories that suck me in. I just love the characters and how they all seem to fall in place with one another. You don't really have to know what happens before the first book you pick up. I started with book number four in this series! And they are just really good romantic reads. I really like Sarah Morgan's style and am glad I discovered her.

It took me a little bit longer to read this book because I was reading the eARC on my NGP instead of a Kindle but I was finally able to finish it.

Minor spoilers ahead...

I liked the part where Fliss started pretending to be Harriet just so she wouldn't have to talk to Seth as herself. That part was a little confusing to figure out at first though but I laughed when I realized what happened. And I liked the part where her true identity was revealed.

This book wasn't a perfect five for me this time because about 20 percent of the way through after the middle part of the book it did seem to slow down until the last few chapters.

I'd still recommend this book to anybody though especially since it was a cute summer time read. I also love that cover!

Holiday in the Hamptons, ( From Manhattan with love 5 ), Sarah Morgan

Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews

Genre:  Romance,

I love this series, each book is a stand alone and easy to follow regardless of you're read any of the others, but they all have an escapist read feel, a story that's easy to follow, full of real people and predicaments.
They remind me very much of Holly Martin's style of writing - if you like her stories then you'll most likely love these too!

I can't recall Seth, Fliss or Harriet from the other reads, but do remember Chase and Matilda getting together, and Eva from Urban Genie, and it was good to catch up with them.
There are some terrific secondary characters here, especially Fliss' granny and the Poker Princesses, and they're the type I want to emulate when I'm older ;-)

So twins Fliss and Harriet run a busy dog walking business in Manhattan.
Fliss is still protecting Harriet, she did it in childhood where their awful bullying father picked on her for her stammer, and Fliss attracted his anger first to save her from it. She's still doing it, its become second nature for her, she loves her sister and would do anything for her. The business caters to their individual skills with Harriet doing what she does best, seeing to the animals - they don't judge, and Fliss doing everything else including dealing with owners.

Then Seth drops back into her life. Swoon...he's gorgeous inside and out, a true gentleman.
He married Fliss at 18 and all we know to start is that it was short lived. Fliss never talks about it, never talks about any problems come to that, just sorts them herself, locks things in her head.
I really wanted to know why things went wrong, what happened and we get there in the end.
Its been ten years now and having tried unsuccessfully to forget her Seth is back to win her over. she's It for him, and he's not standing back this time without some genuine reasons, not accepting her silence.

Fliss, she's so composed and confident but when she knows Seth is in Manhattan she's a wreck. She wants to get it over, talk to him, so she can get back in her comfortable rut, carry on her organised and neatly boxed life.
She can't seem to take that first step though, then a phone call from Gran, needing Harriet's help after a fall sees Fliss impersonating her, escaping for a few weeks to the Hamptons, hoping Seth will be gone when she's back.
It was a spur of the moment thing pretending to be Harriet, and she's intentions of coming clean quickly, but then she bumps into Seth, he left Manhattan where he was covering for a colleague and is back where he lives and works as a vet, and the lie carries on....

Its a great read, lots of humour, lots of small town life and gossip, and through it all I was rooting for Seth, willing him to see what Fliss really meant, what she just couldn't bring herself to say or do.
I understood her actions but if Seth couldn't get her to open up the two were doomed to love each other from afar.
There's drama here, lots of misunderstandings, lots of soft humour and teasing and its a great summer escape.

Stars: five, a great summer read, perfect to relax with.

I absolutely loved this. Fliss' struggle to overcome childhood issues and allow herself to love made me cry. I love strong, protective heroines and Fliss was wonderful. I'm so glad she found a wonderful man like Seth.

I haven't had the chance to read the other books in Sarah Morgan's From Manhattan with Love series, but right away, this book intrigued me. Reunited couple? Check. Dogs playing semi-important roles in the plot? Check. Felicity Knight escapes to the Hamptons when she spots her ex-husband in her local Manhattan vet clinic. Little does she know that Seth's vet practice is actually based in the very community she's escaping to, and he's determined to win her back after ten years apart.

I thought that this was the cutest summer beach read. It certainly had it's fair share of emotional baggage - especially on the heroine's part. To be quite honest, it seemed like a tad too much at times -- daddy issues, getting married and divorced at 18, along with a few other surprises - but I appreciated the fact that Morgan had all of Fliss's issues be interconnected. It at least felt like these issues were logical occurrences after a previous event. I also thought that the emotional baggage Fliss carried was an important ingredient to eventually making her relationship with Seth work. With as much drama as Fliss was bringing, it was a relief to know that Seth was the steady, calm rock throughout. I love how open and honest he was with Fliss, but also how clear and steadfast he was when telling her that their relationship wasn't going to work unless she could give back in kind.

As cute and fluffy as this was, one big drawback for me was the confusing timeline. At one point, Fliss's narration laments that she feels like the entire summer flew by and that she stayed in the Hamptons for much longer than she planned, and then the next section she's talking about plans for the fourth of July. Huh? Girl, that's the sign that summer is just beginning!

Overall, I really enjoyed Holiday in the Hamptons. It was cute, but not too cutesy, and showed emotional character growth of the heroine and a logical reunion of exes. I look forward to more in this series, and I can't wait to catch up on the others already out.
