It has been a while since I have read a book from this author. I really enjoyed this book. It hit the spot in just what I was looking for with my reading; especially in one of my favorite genres.
Macey and Bowen had both a great working and personal relationship. In fact, I liked the personal relationship a lot. As I have said before, I am not always a fan of personal relationships in these types of books unless done right as they feel like distractions from the main story. Serial killers are my vibe and so I want them to be my main focal point. Yet, Macey and Bowen's relationship was part of the story. The love scenes, while short were sexy.

Finally, to my favorite part...the serial killer. He was smart, prominent in the story, and I liked getting into his mind. Everything he did had a purpose. The best part is the fact that the ending was not a let down. Nothing worse then a weak ending. I plan to go back and read the prior novels in this series as well as get back to reading more books from this author. This book had me reading into the night and day.

Into the Night is a romantic suspense with many twists and turns...and then a few more twists thrown in, just for good measure. I lost track of how many side characters gave me creepy vibes (but yay, I was right about two of those creepy-vibe-givers, at least partially!) and whoa, so. Many. Murders. (and abductions. Those numbers were right up there too.) Seriously, this book was pretty relentless.

I'm not sure when Macey and Bowen even had time to develop a relationship--though somehow they managed. ;)

Overall I really enjoyed reading this. Though the ending did have a bit of a going-off-the-rails feel to it, ultimately it was en entertaining read that kept me firmly sitting on the very edge of my seat throughout.

Fingers crossed that there is more to come!

Thrilling, dark, everything I need in a romantic suspense novel.
Cynthia Eden writes in a way that leaves the reader at the edge of their seat from the beginning, all the way to the end. I devoured the book in one sitting and am looking forward to working my way through the rest of the series. Eden managed to throw the perfect amount of curve balls in the story and the character development for Bowen and Macey was flawless.
I connected with both the characters and the story which is what every reader wants in a good book.
It'd been a while since I'd read a book from Cynthia's catalog and INTO THE NIGHT reminded me just why she is such a brilliant storyteller and created a sense of urgency for me to go out and find more.

With nonstop twists in the plot, this serial killer hunt kept me mesmerized until the end. The gory, grisly crimes, the constant guessing of the possible culprits, the struggle to get just one step ahead of him, to survive, to save just one of his victims, to live through his attacks, it had me on my toes, on the edge, holding my breath, making the book impossible to put down until I knew for sure that there was a deliverance from the evil, from the chase for survival.
The gloomy crimes took the story into the deep, dark, dangerous corners of a twisted human mind. The danger and threat are palpable in the air, the possibilities to survive are meager, the endless opportunities to hide in the vast environment of the Smokies gives the sick and twisted hunter an upper hand. The constantly adding numbers of the victims feel devastating, the struggle to feel compassion towards the prey, as they are as vicious killers as the hunter, is overwhelming. No one is safe, as it seems the mastermind has an access to the deepest thoughts and secrets of the FBI agents trying to capture him.
Yes, the suspense is intense, dark, and sinister but it is balanced by the light that comes from the developing relationship between the FBI partners Macey Night and Bowen Murphy. The passion between them is ardent and eager, as the long-simmered emotions finally cascade into the freedom, overflowing despite the rules of the FBI. I loved the connection between Macey and Bowen, while it was tight and strong, filled with passion, there was fragile tenderness in it as well. The need to protect, to keep each other safe even more urgent because of their shadowy history, their past encounters with the killers that they barely survived.
A riveting story with fascinating, gripping, on-the-edge suspense and enthralling and alluring romance between the main characters who charmed me with their intriguing, hidden depths, their caring natures, and their need to protect. A thrill ride of a story that kept me up until the wee hours of the night, driven by the need to find justice for the innocent victims, for the culprits to be captured, and for hero and heroine to survive. Truly an unputdownable story, a great addition series focusing on the FBI's special agents' hunt of the serial killers.

Into the Night is the third book in the Killer Instinct series. I read and reviewed the first two earlier last month. If you are unfamiliar with the series, it began with After the Dark. In the end of that book, a unit in the FBI was established with agents who had either been a survivor of a serial killer or a family member of one. The thought is that they have a unique perspective that will allow them to be more successful in catching the killers. This is Bowen and Macey's story.

I thought the mystery in Into the Night was really good and the strongest feature of the book. I was definitely engaged the entire time I was reading it. There are a ton of twists, so you kind of have to really pay attention to plot to make sure you don't miss anything. I definitely didn't see that ending coming! As for the romance, it "ok" but it wasn't my favorite part of the book. It just didn't have the heat that I was hoping it would have. However, the mystery more than made up for it.

I highly recommend this series. Each one can be read as a stand alone, so you can pretty much start with any of them. I think lovers of romantic suspense will enjoy this one.

Into the Night is a good addition to Eden's Killer Instinct Series. Characters Macey Night and Bowen Murphy, agents with the FBI, are determined to capture a dangerous vigilante serial killer. As Macey and Bowen grow closer, he is set on fighting for their future, but first, they must bring this killer to justice.

Macey and Bowen were wonderful characters with lots of great chemistry and tenderness between them. I love both the romance and suspense in this book. The storyline kept me interested, and I liked the familiar characters that turned up. Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing a copy of the book in return for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this book. The suspense was excellent. I didn’t figure it out until almost the end. The characters were very likable, and you got a happily ever after. I will definitely check out more of Cynthia Eden’s books!

Bowen and Macey are partners in Samantha Dark’s unique FBI profiling division, and so even though they’re attracted to each other they’ve kept their relationship professional. That’s about to change when Macey’s dark past becomes their latest case. Emotions that Macey’s been able to lock down and control come churning up and she turns to Bowen for comfort and oblivion, giving in to that powerful sexual pull between them.

Bowen’s crazy about Macey, but his own dark past and Macey’s reaction has held him back from revealing his feelings. However, he’s not about to refuse her offer of sex with no-strings now even if he wants more. And with the new threat, a vigilante killer who knows both Macey and Bowen’s past, he’s grabbing on and holding her tight.

This killer is a few steps ahead of Macey and Bowen, hunting notorious killers while taunting them. It seems he’s focused his sinister attention on them for some unknown reason. They both struggle with a dark past, the reason they were invited to be on Samantha’s profiling team is because they’ve both had personal experience with serial killers. Macey was a friend, colleague, and then victim of “The Doctor”. She barely managed to get away with her life, while “The Doctor” got away to hunt more. Bowen’s link to a serial killer is revealed as the story progresses, and each of their tales figure into this story.

While I did figure out a couple of things, there were quite a few surprises and twists in this installment. I was on the edge of my seat and enjoyed every minute! Bowen and Macey’s romance was a thrill as well; definite sparks and chemistry, everything I hoped it would be!

INTO THE NIGHT is the third (and final ?) instalment in Cynthia Eden’s contemporary, adult KILLER INSTINCT romantic, suspense series focusing on the men and women who work for the ‘behavioural analysis unit’ within the FBI, all of whom have an intimate connection with a serial killer. This is agents Macey Night and Bowen Murphy’s story line. INTO THE NIGHT can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

NOTE: INTO THE NIGHT contains scenes of graphic violence that may not be acceptable to more sensitive readers.

Told from several third person points of view including Macey and Bowen INTO THE NIGHT follows the search for a serial killer. Five years earlier Dr. Macey Night was the sole surviving victim of a serial killer-a friend, and fellow doctor, and a psychotic killer who targeted women with heterochromia-a unique characteristic in dual eye color that includes our story line heroine. Fast forward to present day wherein Macey Night believes she has located the man responsible for destroying so many lives. Along with fellow FBI agent Bowen Murphy, Macey goes on the hunt for only to discover that there may be more than one killer on the loose in the Smokey Mountains. What ensues is the building but forbidden relationship between agents Macey Night and Bowen Murphy, and the potential fall out when one or both of our leading characters is targeted in a game of cat and mouse.

INTO THE NIGHT is a psychological thriller; a murder mystery/ romantic suspense story that weaves a twisted path of potential suspects, dark demons, retribution and revenge. Not everyone is who he or she appears to be; the killer is closer than anyone suspected. A vigilante ‘profiler’ is always one step ahead of the FBI’s behavioral analysis unit, taking down a long list of serial killers, leaving the team perplexed as to the how and why.

Cynthia Eden blends a little bit of romance between Macey and Bowen-two agents who have survived their own encounters with a serial killer and lived to tell. The relationship between Macey and Bowen is one of immediate attraction as Bowen has kept his emotions intact as he must come to terms with his growing love for a woman who is determine to take down the man that destroyed her life. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Samantha Dark (The Gathering Dusk/After The Dark) , the woman in charge of the behavioural analysis unit; agent Tucker Frost (Before the Dawn); new unit agent and IT hacker Jonah Loxley; and a large assortment of medical personnel and medical examiners, law enforcement, and a number of suspects that continues to grow with every body.

INTO THE NIGHT is a fast paced, energetic story with several twists that will keep you guessing until the very end. The premise is engaging and entertaining; the characters are numerous, colorful and charismatic; the romance is seductive.

Another twisting story about FBI profilers who have all been brought together due to their own pasts that connected them in some way to serial killers. Some are victims whilst others on the team are predators but all now share a burning desire for justice.
Macey survived the diabolical 'The Doctor'and hoped he was dead but now it appears he is once again practicing his nefarious tortures . As she knows his opus operandi only too well Macey is sent to Gatlingburgh with her partner Bowen to investigate and discover if it is actually her nemesis or a copycat killer.
This was never predictable and threw out all manner of conundrums as the author wove her story of revenge and a twisted sense of justice. It was fun seeing characters from previous books but I hasten to reassure other readers that I felt it worked as a standalone story. Amidst the madness and murder we also get a satisfying and passionate romance. For me though when at the end Bowen mentioned that Macey already had his heart it made me smile as yes it's very much a happy ending and there's nothing wrong with that!
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

Into the Night continue the stories of a team of special FBI profilers. Each book focuses on a different crime and a different couple so they are stand alones. However, if you like one book, you will enjoy them all! Imagine Criminal Minds and add in 2 of the agents in a steamy romance and you have the Killer instincts series!

All the agents have some tie to a serial killer-previous boyfriend, family member, victim. In this case Macey is the only surviving victim of 'The Doctor'. When it looks like he has resurfaced, Macey and her partner Bowen rush to NC to look into it. However, they quickly realize there is a LOT more going on.

Macey and Bowen are on the hunt for a copycat killer who has killed 2 serial killers the FBI was hunting (wow-that is a lot of killers in one sentence!). The action really does read like a TV show, and if you enjoy these types of tropes, you will really gobble up the story. The romance between Macey and Bowen starts as a 'just this once' kind of thing, then it becomes a secret romance because they don't want to let anyone in the FBI know. So, basically, its just sex at night, business as usual by day. That always works out, right? ;) I really loved Bowen as a hero. He didn't hide his feelings for Macey and was willing to be whatever she wanted him to be as long as he was in her life. He knew she would come around eventually.

What I have enjoyed about all the books in the series is they aren't predictable. You keep wondering who the villain is, then once its revealed, you wonder how he/she will be caught, then you wonder if its really over! Eden is one of my favorite romantic suspense authors because her books always keep me on my toes!

Suspenseful and riveting, Into the Night was a thrilling romantic suspense story filled with many twists and turns. With Eden's signature mind for twisted characters and their reigns of terror, readers will not only fall in love with Bowen and Macey's fierce connection with one another, but also their fast-paced fall into a serial killer's trap that is seemingly both personal and highly skilled.

In a series where each novel can stand completely on its own, there's nothing repetitive about the characters or the motives behind their actions, leaving readers to be completely captivated with something new and fresh with each one. And somehow Eden keeps finding new ways to bring about death, danger, and design, thrusting her characters into untried depths of both hot romance and deadly situations. The strength and warrior spirit of Macey, a survivor of a horrible ordeal, was always present, and her sharp mind was clear, but conscious of what was at stake. She was the heart to Bowen's protective capabilities, but his ability to love was just as fierce. Both characters meshed so well in both personal and professional endeavors that it was seamless to believe their fall.

Into the Night was an edge-of-your-seat read, one that kept me guessing until the very end. It was one thing after another--turning the preformed ideas I cultivated with the evidence given and twisted everything on its head--leaving me to throw away all of my predictions to guess again, and that's the marker of a great suspense novel. The romance was just an extra topping that rounded out the story. I'm already looking forward to what's next in this series, hoping there will be more to come.

Macey Knight and Bowen Murphy are part of an FBI task force. All the member of this task force have been affected in some way by a serial killer. Macey is the only victim to escape from the killer that targeted her. The task force is chasing a serial killer who targets other serial killers. He also taunts the members of the FBI, daring them to catch him.

The premise for this plot is great, one serial killer targeting other serial killers. The killer is very smart and manages to stay one step ahead of the FBI. There are plenty of twists and turns to this story with a few twists I didn’t see coming. The suspense kept me on the edge of my seat waiting for the next clue to drop. This is part of a series but it could be read on its own. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

When a stalker leaves love notes in the blood and flesh, is it creepy? What if the blood and flesh are from killers that need to be taken down? In a bizarre case of vigilante justice, Macey Night and Bowen Murphy are targeted with these bloody messages. For fans of Dexter, there is a certain satisfaction in the deaths of killers in this story. For those enjoy black comedy, this reminds me of Heathers in some ways, but way cooler.

Ms. Eden pens a mean twisted suspense with a ruthless killer. Honestly, whilst I did like Macey and Bowen, I'm more impressed with the killer. Sure the killer was unbalanced, psychotic and cruel but the killer just wanted attention. And I can't blame the killer. Their mind and ability to find serial killers is impressive. I reveled in the sick sadistic killings because in this case, two wrongs may not make a right, but it certainly gives a grim satisfaction. This story pulled me in because unfortunately I was rooting for the evil villain. The evil villain is not an anti-hero. They are completely amoral and so intelligent. I like how Ms. Eden creates an intelligent killer who isn't sloppy. Sure, there are mistakes which is the downfall of criminals. But this one doesn't make it easy for Macey or Bowen.

Neither of Macey nor Bowen is dumb either. They are distracted. Distracted by their attraction which is against policy. Their sexual tension is intense and deferred so achingly. Love that tortured desire. This story is best described as torturous. Not as difficult to read. More as the majority of characters including secondary ones are put through situations that bring up horrendous traumatic experiences. The pain in this book is aged like fine wine. Love it. This romantic suspense is recommended to readers who are jaded and bloodthirsty.

Romantic suspense are hard books to review. Discussing the plot can be a spoiler as a twist that seems obvious to one reader will totally surprise another and vice versa, but not discussing the plot leaves for a review in which you aren't able to say much of anything.

Macey and Bowen are partners. And, they are attracted to one another. There are some clues at the beginning to how much Bowen actually cares for Macey, but he has kept things professional and has made sure that he puts their career with the FBI first.

When Macey needs comfort as her past and her present start to connect, Bowen is there, and they make an agreement, eventually, to be professional during the day, but to reserve the night for them to be together. This works, for a little while. Until the relationship starts to bleed into the day, and they have to deal not only with a killer, but with their developing relationship.

I enjoyed this overall. There were points that I thought moved a little too quickly, and some of the relationship seemed to be skipped over. I wanted a little more of the development at the beginning, but I did enjoy it overall.

I do recommend this title.

I read this book in one day as I could not put it down. It was fast and furious and I really enjoyed reading it. Ms. Eden writes great suspense. I enjoyed her paranormal work, but this genre is where I believe she excels. The two leads: Macey and Bowen were interesting without pulling the focus from the crazy plot. There were numerous potential killers and it was hard to spot the true one. This made for a great read. I can not wait for the next in the series.
