This is an incredibly sweet story about three generations of Amish women tied together by a Christmas quilt. Each generation has their own struggles to overcome. I always enjoy a good Christmas Story and the Brunstetter authors deliver. At first I was expecting a sweet little story where everyone was happy and the problems could be easily solved. However that's not the case with these books. The characters deal with the death of a friend, overbearing homesickness, and broken hearts. The reason I only gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is sometimes the dialogue seems a little stilted. Maybe a little too choppy. But the emotions and drama of each story more than makes up for the dialogue. This is a book that I would read again and would willingly pass on to someone else. The Christmas quilt will blanket you with a warm feeling for the holidays. Pardon the pun. LOL

Sweet collection of Amish-themed stories that each feature a beloved Christmas quilt that is handed down through generations in a family. I like the way this common theme connected the separate stories, and enjoyed the fact that we were already familiar with some of the characters. Made it easy to bond from the beginning. Although Christmas is featured in parts of each story, it's not the main focus. There were 3 different authors featured, but I thought the stories flowed pretty seamlessly. The middle one was the least polished of the 3. My only sort-of critique is that the characters seemed more "english" than in other Amish books I've read. I don't know if that is indeed the Amish ways now or what. But it did stand out enough for me to ponder about them. I think any fan of the Brunstetters or Amish fiction will find delight in this grouping of stories!

THE BELOVED CHRISTMAS QUILT- bY Wanda Brunstetter
AUGUST 29, 2017 / BOOKWORM701 / EDIT
Wanda Brunstetter is an award-winning romance novelist who has led millions of readers to lose their heart in the Amish life. She is the author of almost 90 books with more than 10 million copies sold. Many of her books have landed on the top bestseller lists, including the New York Times, USA Today, Publisher’s Weekly, CBA, ECPA, and CBD. Wanda is considered one of the founders of the Amish fiction genre, and her work has been covered by national publications, including Time Magazine and USA Today.

Wanda’s fascination with the Amish culture developed when she met her husband, Richard, who grew up in a Mennonite church, and whose family has a Pennsylvania Dutch heritage. Meeting her new Mennonite sister-in-laws caused Wanda to yearn for the simpler life. In their travels, she and her husband have become close friends with many Amish people across America. Wanda’s desire to explore their culture increased when she discovered that her great-great grandparents were part of the Anabaptist faith.

Luellas Promise by Wanda Brunstetter- Luella was caring for Atlee Zook’s wife named Dena and their son Daryl who is four. Luella felt bad for Atlee and Daryl who faced losing their wife and mother. She kept Dena company as well as doing the cooking and cleaning for the family. Dena has a beautiful Christmas quilt on her bed that her mother made for them. Dena gave the quilt to Luella as an early Christmas present. Dena asked Luella to keep working for her family after she passes. Dena passed away then from heart problems. Eugene wanted to court Luella. He had been friends wither her since grade school. He even got her a Christmas gift.

Join in this story and discover who Luella will choose for her first family. I enjoyed reading this book with my daughter. Rating 5 out of 5 stars.

Three wonderful multi-generational stories set around an Amish Christmas quit. The quilt, which was passed down through the family, has the verse, “For thou are my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name’s sake lead me, and guide me. Psalm 31:3, embroidered on the underside. This verse proves to be the guiding light for all three generations of women.

Luella’s Promise by Wanda Brunstetter
Luella is a caregiver for her dying friend, Dena whom is several years her senior. This is where Luella receives the gift of the quilt. Knowing that her time is short and that she has no daughters to gift it to, she gives Luella the quilt at Christmas time and asks her to pass it along to her daughter one day. This story follows Luella as she seeks to find happiness and love with the right man.

Karen’s Gift by Jean Brustetter
This story highlights Karen’s life. Karen is the daughter of Luella and along with her husband and two small daughters they have relocated to Lykens and away from her family. Seth and Luella face several hardships adjusting to life away from their family. Luella wishes that she has her mother there to help her, especially when their newborn faces a disability. Seth and Karen go about facing the disability in different ways. She finds the verse on the inside of the quilt and uses it to help her and her family get through the difficult times.

Roseanna’s Groom by Richelle Brunstetter
Roseanna, Karen & Seth’s oldest daughter is the heroine of the last novella in the book. Roseanna goes through a difficult time when her fiancé, John, leaves her standing at the altar. Not long after John leaves the community to work through his issues, Mark comes back to the community. He has always had feeling for Roseanna and works hard to make her fall in love with him. Soon, John returns as well and doesn’t want to lose Roseanna without a fight. As Roseanna prays and seeks counsel from her grandmother, Luella she tells her to read Psalm 31:3. The story ends with Roseanna being wed and receiving the cherished Christmas quilt.

I enjoyed each of these stories and loved how they followed along with the generations of women. I would love to read about Nancy Anne and see how she faced her disabilities in the Amish community.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author and Barbour Publishing, as well as, from netgalley and was under no obligation to post a review.

A lovely trio of stories showing how a beloved Christmas quilt is passed from generation to generation. The quilt holds special meaning for each family member. These three stories are woven together to make a beautiful message. I received a copy of this book from the author, publisher and Net Galley and this is my personal honest opinion.

Three novellas intertwined together with a quilt passed down through a family. These were very enjoyable stories but I felt that the Amish culture was portrayed quite differently than other stories. To me there was a lot of 'English' in the characters such as Roseanna referring to as becoming 'Mrs.' John Beiler instead of just Roseanna Beiler. Faith and prayer was emphasized which is always an encouragement in Amish books. Enjoyed!

Three beautiful Amish stories intertwined through a Christmas quilt passed down through three generations. Each story shows how to overcome death to love again, martial strife and fear of new love.

I was very impressed with debut author, Richelle Brunstetter. She has her grandmother's storytelling gift. I'm excited to see how she progresses.

This is the perfect book to give as a present for fans of Amish romance. The stories are short enough to read one story in a sitting. The progression from story to story is seamless. Your heart will be light and airy when you finish the book.

Thank you to NetGalley and Barbour Publishing for an ARC to read and provide a review based on my own honest opinion.

The multi generational aspect of tbis book was great. Family traditions are going by the way side these days and need to be brought back so we don't lose our history.
The fact that three different authors were able to cohesively tell a story in a way that was seemless to the reader was impressive.

However this book brings three generations of one family together in the writing as well. You will not be disappointed as you watch the families grow. I highly recommend this book. You won't be able to put it down. I received a copy through Netgalley.

This was a really nice Amish 3 part book written by Wanda E. Brunstetter, her daughter-in-law, Jean and her granddaughter Richelle, three generations of women writing about 3 generations of Amish women. The three stories blend together and revolve around a special quilt which is passed through the women.

The story develops showing good times and not such good times. But as they remain faithful, life has a way of renewing.

The stories were very enjoyable and I highly recommend them to fans of Amish fiction.

I received an ebook copy of this book from NetGalley for my honest review. All thoughts are my own.

This was a lovely book covering all the elements of Christmas, the Amish faith, and three generations of women. I loved the fact that the book covered three generations and was written by three generations of writers, Wanda Brunstetter, Jean Brunstetter, and Richelle Brunstetter. The beloved quilt has the verse, “For thou are my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name’s sake lead me, and guide me. Psalm 31:3, embroidered on it and proves to be a source of comfort to each generation.

Luella’s Promise
Beginning with Luella who is a caregiver for her dying friend, Dena, we see that Dena gives Luella a quilt to pass on to Luella’s future daughter, as Dena’s mother had given it to her. It has been a source of comfort to Dena as she endures her illness. Dena only has a son, and cherishes her friendship with Luella and feels she would like Luella to have the quilt to pass on to her future daughter. We see how Luella hopes to find a love such as Dena and her husband Atlee share.

Karen’s Gift
In the second story, we meet Luella’s daughter, Karen and her family. She and her husband, Seth, have moved away from the community where they were raised and where their families live. She has a very hard time adjusting, then also learns one of her children has a disability. She finds great comfort in having the quilt and its verse to help her get through all the trying times she and her family go through.

Roseanna’s Groom
The third story centers around Rosanna, Karen & Seth’s oldest daughter. Rosanna goes through a horrible time of hurt, anger, and embarrassment when her fiancé, John, leaves her at the altar. Her mother tries to give her the quilt to have as a source of comfort, but she tells her mother to save it for one of the other daughters and give it to them when they marry. She feels she may never marry as she doesn’t believe she can get through this hurt. We learn if she is able to recover from this and move on with her life.

I enjoyed this book very much and would highly recommend it for anyone who likes the Amish romance books and is looking for an enjoyable holiday read.

The Beloved Christmas Quilt is collection of three stories of family, love and Amish traditions by Wanda, Jean and Richelle Brunstetter. Three generations and three stories that tell of three generations in the family.
The first story is Luella’s Promise by Wanda Brunstetter. Luella is hired to care for her neighbor’s sick wife and their son. Luella is given the beloved Christmas quilt by the wife before her death. She tells Luella how special it has always been to her and since she is her best friend she wants her to have it. She also asks her to continue to care for her husband, Atlee and son, Daryl after she is gone. Atlee is sixteen years older than Luella but as she continues to care for him and Daryl they become close friends and fall in love. Luella’s parents do all they can to persuade her to quit working for Atlee and to begin courting with someone else. Their relationship becomes quite strained. Luella is pulled between honoring her parents and the feelings she has for Atlee. Focusing on God brings clarity to all of them in ways you might not expect.
Karen’s Gift is written by Wanda’s daughter-in-law, Jean. Next generation in the Brunstetter family and the family in our story. Karen is the daughter of Luella and her husband. She and her husband Seth have three little girls and have moved away from their families for Seth’s work. Karen is extremely homesick and would like to move back to be closer to her parents. Visits from her and Seth’s parents make her feel even more lonely when they leave. There is a new worker at Seth’s job who is not Amish and the two do not see eye to eye on many things. Seth is not happy there anymore but can’t see a way to change the situation. As always God is at work and can change their hearts and attitudes when they focus on him and trust each other as well.
Roseanna’s Groom is written by Jean’s granddaughter, Richelle Brunstetter. We meet Roseanna as a small child in the previous story. She is now twenty years old and planning to get married. At the last minute the groom, John, changes his mind and decides marriage is not for him. Several months later a childhood friend, Mark, moves back to the community and he and Roseanna begin courting. Of course, John eventually returns and wants Roseanna to forgive him and marry him. Roseanna is very torn and goes to stay with her grandparents for a time of prayer and renewal. When she returns she will need to decide who she truly loves and who loves her. Her answer comes in the form of accident that opens her eyes to that which she has not been seeing.
I enjoyed this book very much. I really like the way the stories are linked one generation to the next. It is also unique in that the writers are linked the same way. Each has a unique style of writing and yet they blend together seamlessly to create this beautiful story. In each story, there is some type of conflict and characters must learn to rely on God and not themselves in order resolve the issues. I give this book 5 of 5 stars and highly recommend it to all who read Christian novels.
I received an advance copy of this book through Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

As always Wanda E. Brunstetter does not disappoint. Her stories are family oriented and usually show some internal conflict that is resolved with prayer and a quilt. Wanda transports you to the Amish Country in Pennsylvannia. Having visited Amish Country she does a beautiful job of describing the area and ways of life of the Amish. She crafts her characters so that you not only understand them but feel like you know them. Delightful read.

A darling set of stories set around a beloved quilt makes this title an excellent read for those looking for a clean and soft read. Filled with Godly respect, Amish traditions, and beautiful scenery, I recommend this for anyone who is a fan of these authors.

I was given an ARC copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I absolutely loved this book! It is actually three stories that continue through the entire book and each one centers around a Christmas quilt!

Another lovely 3 stories from the Brunstetter girls.
Luella has been caregiver for a dying woman and her young son. When dying Denna gives Luella her favourite Christmas quilt, she makes Luella promise to pass it down to her daughter. Luella isn't sure she will ever marry. But as time goes by, whilst loking after Denna's young son, her feelings grow for the husband, Atlee Zook..

Karen Allgyer and her husband moved to a slow-paced village to raise their children, but Karen longs for the closeness of family to help her through the challenges of motherhood and marriage. Her last baby gives the family more challenges and will they survive. The Christmas quilt is there to sooth the soul and remain in the family.

When the unexpected happens on the day of her wedding, Roseanna feels that she will never give her heart away again. But things happen and she does trust another, but is it forever, or will the past come and change her life again. The Christmas quilt again is a very treasured piece, handed down through the women in Luella's family.

Lovely stories, give them a go.

Beloved Christmas Quilt: Three Stories of Family, Romance and Amish Faith is about a quilt with the scripture of Psalm 31:3 on the back and connecting three generations.

The three stories and generations include:

Luella's Promise by Wanda Brunstetter. Luella takes care of a terminally ill woman, Dena. Dena gives Luella a precious gift of her cherished quilt. She hopes Luella to one day pass it down to her future daughter. However, Luella is not even confident enough that she will ever be married and have a daughter.

Karen's Gift by Jean Brunstetter. Karen is married, has three girls and is expecting. They move away from the family and friends, leaving Karen overwhelmed. Will she be able to deal with the stress?

Roseanna's Room by Richellel Lynn Brunstetter. Roseanna's world completely changes on her wedding day. Will an old friend coming back to town bring her happiness again?

I enjoyed all three of the stories. They are all very sweet and I love how the beloved quilt was able to connect Luella, Karen, and Roseanna. The verse of Psalm 31:3 For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me is so inspiring and a beautiful reminder. If a reader is looking for some faith, inspiration and loves Amish fiction, then this book is most definitely for them.

Great read! I highly highly recommend this book and would give it 100 stars if I could.

I received this book from the publisher but was not required to write a review. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.
