As a middle child, I understand the feeling of being ignored and/or overlooked, so I like the book in that respect. However, I didn't like the idea that everyone was too busy to make sure this child was dressed properly for a month. Obviously, it's no big deal to wear pajamas, but the idea is that this kid could have been wearing anything and no one noticed, which just leads to thoughts about what else the adults in his life might not be noticing and I just didn't like that.

First I would like to say thanks for allowing me to view the book and a chance to state my opinion and just a reminder it is an opinion not everyone's opinion is going to be the same.

My children loved the book which Is the demographic this book is trying to reach although in an adult perspective I feel that the parents and the teacher obviously did not have enough time or energy to notice that the kids was wearing pajamas every day I knwo things can get busy and it really isn't that big of a deal to wear pajamas I mean I love pajamas and I would wear them every day too but definitely not at school but over all the children enjoyed it and that is the important thing
Thank you for the opportunity

My Review: I love the idea of a Jammie Day (even more so now that I am an adult) and Munchkin is always asking for a PJ Day at school, so I thought this would be a fun story. While it was a bit of a silly story with convincing everyone that it is jammie day for a day, a week and more, there is a bit of a sad part too. I didn't really like the idea of portraying the middle child as being ignored to the point of not truly paying attention to what they are saying or wearing. While I know this is meant to be a funny story, this little tidbit doesn't sit well with me. Munchkin, being an only child, didn't catch on and now tries to convince me all the time it is PJ day at school.

My Rating: I was kind of disappointed in the portrayal of the adults in this book and the treatment of the middle child, it could really add to negative feelings if read to a child who just had a younger sibling born. I give it a rating of Three Paws because Munchkin did really enjoy it, though again he is an only child and it wouldn't have the same impact on him.

I received a DIGITAL Advance Reader Copy of this book from #NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. From the publisher -
Cliffy is a middle child: a little less loud, a little less messy, and a little less conspicuous than his four siblings. One cold, winter morning, Cliffy doesn't feel like getting dressed. So he tells his mom it's jammie day and heads to school in his favorite footy pajamas.
His mom might not have been paying attention. His teacher and his dad are distracted, too. So Cliffy gets away with it for a day... then a week... then a month. The other kids at school catch on quickly and start making every day jammie day, too! This playful read-aloud pokes fun at preoccupied adults and lets the kids win. Adorable, nuanced artwork elevates the story with a true-to-life depiction of family chaos, emotion, and warmth. The illustrations especially show off Cliffy's jammies, which become more worn, torn, and beloved as the months go by

This book is cute but enough with people wearing P.J.s in public! Kids I can understand but adults in jammies in public are RIDICULOUS. That aside, cute illustrations and a cute little story for kids but seriously, make them wear clothes in public unless they are post-bath and pre-bed or under the age of two..

A cute book with more fun than sense. Cliff is the middle of five children. One day, he doesn't want to get dressed for school so he tells his mother that it's Jammie Day and he tells his teacher and father the same. They each are said to maybe not be paying attention. Cliff extends his Jammie Day into two days, than a week, than a month. Each time the adults in his life seem to not mind, while his classmates are show to appreciate and join him. There is no really conflict or resolution. The inattention of the adults is not treated as a bad or good thing, but simply a fact. Even Cliff growing out of his jammies a bit is simply something that is.

That being said, the language was spot on and the pictures are the star of this book. They are adorable and engaging, perfectly suited for this book. A great addition to a large collection.

Can I have Jammie Day every day? This was a great read for my little 5 year old girl. She has jammie day at school so it was totally relatable. PJ day at school is always exciting for the kiddos. Jammie Day was very cute and the illustrations were lovely. 5 stars.

I'm a little bit conflicted about this book. On the one hand, I love the illustrations; they are very sweet and happy. And, I can easily identify with a child who wants to wear pajamas all day, every day. Sounds great! But, at the same time, I don't like the fact that Cliffy is completely ignored by everyone in his life except for his school friends. I know that in many cases parents with 4+ children can be distracted, but I don't think they are that clueless. I suppose that the final illustration in this story demonstrates that Cliffy's family does begin to take notice of him, but I would have appreciated if that point was more heavily emphasized at the end. Regardless of that point, I still gave this story 3 stars because I like the illustrations and the story has some good themes about individuality, even if it does seem to further the stereotype that middle children are often forgotten.

Who wouldn't love a Jammie Day? Poor Cliffy. Being the middle child is hard. When he decides that it's Jammie Day, the adults weren't paying attention but the kids were. The next day Cliffy has classmates join him for Jammie Day. With sweet illustrations and a progressive story (you can see his jammies getting worn) families will adore this book. I will plan on reading it for story time.

This is an adorable little story about a middle child. He decides he wants to wear his jammies to school so he tells his mom it's Jammie Day. How long can he keep slipping it by his parents and the teacher? I think any middle child can relate to feeling over looked sometimes. I think most kids have at least one point in their lives where they feel their parents didn't really notice or pay as much attention to them as they could have. This story shows how they can be creative and have fun.

This was a sweet book, but not a standout book or a particularly original idea.

*thank you to Owlkids Books and Netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*

4 stars.
This was so adorable and it made me laugh. The idea of a jammie day! Now who hasnt wished that they could just call a work day or school day a jammie day. I know I'd rather be wearing mine more often than not. It was totally cute and such a FUN read! Little kids will love this! The images are splended and I love the choice of the colours that were used. Im adding this to my 'need to buy when released' list.

Well done to Carrie Snyder for the story and to Brooke Kerrigan for the wonderful illustrations.

When you are a kid right in the middle sometimes things are not super comfy. Cliffy has an older brother and older sister and a younger brother and younger sister. He longs to be comfy in a house where not being the oldest or the youngest is hard. In this book by Carrie Snyder, on a cold winter morning Cliffy decides that he wants to wear his “jammies” to school. Because everyone is busy with the oldest and the youngest, Cliffy leaves for school wrapped up in a coat, mitten, a scarf and a hat in his jammies. Soon Jammie Day become Jammie Week and Jammie Month and soon Cliffy is not the only one in his class comfy, cozy in his favorite jammies. Everyone notices what a great idea Cliffy has, even his family. Cliffy is the one with the best idea, just like he always wanted.

This is sure to be a favorite for you and your family to on a snow day, a weekend morning or anytime your little ones need to talk about not feeling noticed or important. Grab your favorite jammies and this beautifully illustrated book and enjoy.

Never judge a book by its cover. That's what they say. However, I do. If I see a cute book cover, I will read the book. If I hate a book cover I won't even give it a chance. I kow this is wrong, especially considering I work in a library...but I ramble. I LOVED this book cover!

What an adorable book. This would be the perfect book to read to students on pajama day at school! Who doesn't like to be in their jammies all day. I love being in my jammies all day.

The illustrations are wonderful, soft and I laughed when I saw some of them.

Cute story showing how one kid CAN make a difference. Even so, I was a little bothered by the insinuations that grown-ups don't pay attention or listen to kids. Even if it may be reality, kids don't need extra reinforcement of this sad parental behavior. Still, we liked the creative spirit of the little boy and how he was able to get the whole class modeling his behavior without even realizing it.

Middle kids! This book was written for you. Nobody pays much attention to Cliffy, the middle child of five, but he knows what he likes. He announces to the world it is Jammie Day and because all the characters know they really haven't been paying attention to him, let him go to school in pajamas. The illustrations are well done and the book is fun for kids who will love it that Cliffy gets away with Jammie Day, Week and even month. I also like that the publisher took the extra steps to show grade range and where it falls in Common Core.

This is a very cute book. A middle child gets his chance to convince everyone that it is Jammie Day, then Week, then Month, then Year. The story is a bit unbelievable, but that is part of its charm. I believe that parents and teachers are more observant than those in this book, and pay attention to all children. I enjoyed the expressive and uncomplicated illustrations.

I loved this little cheeky book! The colors and pictures are wonderful and engaging. A child of toddler to older child would love this book. Cliffy (child in the book) has two older sibling and two younger sibilings. He decides one day is pajammie day, then a whole week, then a whole month, and finally a whole year.. He believes no one is paying attention to what he wears etc, not his parents or teacher. It is an all around great book.

This story is adorable. The middle of 5 children, Cliffy is often looked over. And not just by his family, but by his teacher as well. It’s how he convinces them it’s Jammie Day at school. But the other kids notice too, and they all have a jammie day, for the next few day.
