I'm not sure what to think about this one p, there was so much drama in Megan's life it was almost taxing and then takes over the story. Brandon I just. Didn't feel his character at all. It's a shame as under all the drama a true story could emerge. |
I was given this ARC by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed reading this book. This is the first book I've read from Jenna Bayle-Burke and I loved it. It has romance, comedy, secrets and misunderstandings. Megan might have thought that Brandon was playing with her and cheating on her with Gemma but underneath all that anger and betrayal she still in love with Brandon. Brandon might not know why Megan left him without a word but now that he has found her he is not letting her go. Brandon might have thought he was doing the right thing by keeping Megan in the dark but he couldn't have been more wrong. I'm glad that at the end they both got their HEA all they needed to do was just communicate and trust each other. I was a bit disappointed with the ending, I was expecting more. Overall The Billionaires Private Scandal was a fun read! |

I was given an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest and independent review. A sassy, slightly steamy (in places) romantic novel with well described characters. I enjoyed the sparring relationship between the two main characters. Their chemistry was palpable. An enjoyable and quick read with a good storyline by Jenna Bayley Burke. For me, an unsatisfactory ending. |
I really liked this movie-misunderstood lovers. Megan's father has embezzled and made off with all the company and family's money. Brandon is the corporate raider who benefits from this. He's also Megan's secret lover. But she thinks Brandon was cheating on her, feels betrayed by everyone and goes into hiding. Of course Brandon finds her, is appalled at her living conditions and is determined to win her back. Good luck with that! Good read! |

This is a fun quick read that I thoroughly enjoyed. In it, Megan has hit rock bottom after her father's embezzlement came to light and he flew the jurisdiction. She blames Brandon for her circumstances and the fact that she was left with nothing. Brandon doesn't know why Megan disappeared without a word and searched until finding her (months later). However, what Brandon viewed as a business decision, Megan viewed as a personal betrayal. Add in that she saw him kissing her nemesis and, to say the least, Megan is not happy to see him when he shows up. This led to a number of entertaining scenes that range from sad to amusing....I mean, really, who hasn't wanted to throw a cup of hot coffee at an ex? The difference is that Megan gets to actually do it....lol. I loved the premise and the way the author told the story - it had me totally engaged from the very first page until the very last page. I took away a star because of the ending, while all the elements were resolved, it just felt a bit abrupt to me. Fans of the genre will enjoy this novel and I'm looking forward to reading more by the author. |
I beyond LOVED this story. It is part of a series and I have not read the other stories in the series. Which meant I did not undertstand one scene in the book but otherwise this book stands alone. It is sweet, hot, romantic and wonderfully written. This is the story of 25 year old Meg and Brandon. The two have been together for 7 years until one day, on Meg's bday when she came to visit her secret boyfriend and saw him kissing his so called friend and then leading her into his apartment. That is when Meg disapears from everyone she knows. Meg has parents who were crooks and they are on the lam. Everything they owned has been reposessed and she and her sisters have been kicked out of their home. With nothing but a cell phone that won't charge Meg gets some jobs so she can afford to live. With seeing Brandon like she did she disapears and Brandon looks everywhere for her. He finally finds her in a coffee house and she HATES him with a passion for betraying her in love and also taking her parents family business from them. She is one angry woman and I loved that about her. You can feel how much in love Brandon is with her but he has no idea why she hates him so much. If you love 2nd chance love stories where it appears the male lead cheats on his woman well you will love this story. I loved that Megan does not forgive him easily and Brandon realises what a screw up he really was. I also loved that it was not esily fixable and I loved how Meg treats the OTHER woman. You go girl!!! |

So many mistakes and innocent assumptions leads to their falling apart. They also lead to the long road of forgiveness. If only Megan had asked questions from the beginning. But then again we would have had a completely different book. I just couldn't help yelling at the book "just ask him and get it over with". I liked the book and how we get a little background info on the sisters and friends so it's not all about Megan and Brandon. |
