Bea Paxton is a free spirit. She loves her fledgling interior design business, having fun, and she loves men. But only temporarily. Rule #1 is no relationships, no love, no commitment. She likes being in charge. It's the only way to protect herself from getting hurt again. Zane Price is the perfect candidate for a steamy time—beautiful, built, and British. Plus, he'll soon be moving back to England. Really perfect. Well...except for the fact that he's her biggest client. And he doesn't play by her rules. Hell, no. He wants more. Much more. Which is definitely not on the agenda. Unfortunately, his kisses are nothing short of toe-curlingly awesome. And he is distracting her—a lot—from doing her job. She needs to stay away from him. Her livelihood depends on it. But Zane always gets what he wants. And he wants Bea. But for right now? Or forever? This was a fun and quick read. Both characters had some layers to them. Bea, while strong-willed, believes in a more bohemian lifestyle where Zane is also strong-willed and determined. Throughout the book, his determination is set on Bea. Overall, the book was fairly lighthearted with plenty of steam throughout. I recommend. **I voluntarily read and reviewed this book |
What we've got here is a romance build between to headstrong people used to getting what they want and being in control ... let the games begin :) Excellent story with ridiculous chemistry! I loved that both Zane and Bea were self-assured leads. It made the spark sizzle between them. Their interactions kept me glued to my kindle! Their story is humorous as well as sexy and full of heart. Definitely a winner for me! |
This was one of those stories that jumped right off the pages at me. The initial attraction between the two was hot, the sassiness of the heroine was fun and the hero was a sexy british man who went after what he wanted. It was a quick, fun read and I loved how it ended. |
It was Ok, they both annoyed me to a certain degree. I think they forgot that they were adults and had to let things go. Bea was hurt by an ex-boyfriend when she was in college and she ended up holding on to that resentment and living her life by not getting into any relationships because of it. Then she meet Zane, a handsome Brit, and she is extremely attracted to, but she does not want to mix business with pleasure, however they do not really stand a chance with that, they both give it, because Zane goes after her. Now Zane, lost his mother as a child, and apparently, he wont leave London permanently because he visits his mothers grave three times a week because he feels responsible for her death. what? He was a kid, Yeah that was ridiculous. So, they are both stubborn, and both needed to be told by loved ones, that they needed to reevaluate there relationship, and luckily for them, they do. |

I like that Bea is so independent but she has a bit of a commitment phobia. The banter between her and Zane is sizzling and fun. I love it. Zane does take a few hits and I do feel bad for him in a couple of places, and in some respects with his control issues, some of the time he is deserving. Luckily in the end I get my happy. |

Casual Affair is sexy and sweet. Bea is a free spirited interior designer who finally meets the man to make her re-think her stance on no relationships, no commitments. When she meets Zane, hot, British Zane, she's thinking how sexy he is, but he's a potential client and mixing business with pleasure is never a good idea. Somehow he overrides any objections she has and they get involved in a fun, no strings affair. But, when Zane starts to ask for more, starts to make her feel more, how will Bea react? Well, she reacts like a woman who is scared of her feelings, and she pushes him away. Thank God for her smart, sweet sister and Zane's own persistence, or Bea would have been stewing in her own ridiculousness for the rest of her life. If you want something sweet, sexy and with two realistic characters, take a dive into Casual Affair. |
Review by Amber for Love Romance Books Blog Zane and Bea have chemistry from the first time they meet...on a paintball field during a job interview. Zane wants her from the beginning, but Bea is determined not to mix business and pleasure. Her design contract with Zane's company is her big break, and she doesn't want to lose it because of sleeping with the boss. The only thing is that Zane doesn't seem to agree. He is patient, but only able to wait so long before he makes his move. Will Bea be able to resist? I would rate this book 3.5 stars. It was a fun book to read and I liked the chemistry between the lead characters. I was asked by the author for an honest review. |
This was a fun book. Bea was spunky and determined. Zane was dominant and controlling. Both competitive, both accomplished, it was an interesting mix. This is not an incredibly complex story. No suspense or off-the-rails drama. It's simply two people working out their personal issues to find the path to be together. The writing was engaging. Witty. The banter between them was zingy and fun. This is one of the best parts of the book. And they had lots of steamy fun. Definitely would recommend this book. |
Oh my gosh these two steamed up the pages within the first couple of pages. There was so much sexual banter between these two that it made it fun to see when they actually got together. There were a few instances I was laughing out loud. Especially when Bea was trying to have an open dialogue between her brain and vagina. The brain saying no bad idea and the vagina saying this is an excellent idea. Bea trying to keep things professional between her and Zane. Zane is basically on a mission to get with Bea, because she's hot, funny, and sassy. So, begins his seduction on Bea. I have to give props to resist the man for a few chapters. I totally enjoyed Casual Affair, because you have Bea who is extremely independent and doesn't want a man telling her what to do. There's a reason for her being kind of commitment-phobic. I think she rather get her teeth pulled without any painkillers than say she was in a relationship, so poor Zane has to tread carefully through these waters. Actually he does pretty well, up until the last few chapters. Seriously, the banter between these two is pretty funny and amazing. These two had great chemistry. I totally fell in love with Zane. Granted he's a bit of control freak, but he has his reasonings. Bea I adore, but I was a little upset with her for breaking Zane's heart towards the end. Fortunately, they both realize their faults. Overall, Casual Affair was nicely done. A great balance between banter and intimate times. So, if you are in need of some laughs, and sexy time, Casual Affair might be what you need. Bea is a bit of a free spirit and as such her dalliances with men are always temporary. No commitment. No love. She's been hurt before and her rules are in place to protect herself. When she meets Zane he meets all her criteria...sexy, has an accent, and jackpot...his visit is only temporary. The catch? He's a client, a very big one, and he refuses to abide by her rules. As Zane and Bea begin spending more time together while she completes the job he hired her for, their chemistry is undeniable and trying to keep their hands off each other is a losing battle. But what happens when Zane wants more? Can Bea risk herself again? Will Zane prove to Bea that he'll protect her heart? Will these two get their HEA? One-click now and follow along as Bea discovers rules are meant to be broken. **I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.** |
I voluntarily read this advanced readers copy of this book. I just couldn't put it down once I started reading it. Strong characters and great story line. I can't wait to read more of this series. |
Completely addictive, Casual Affair had me hooked from the first few pages. A sexy Brit and a sassy southern gal take the spotlight in Casual Affair. Zane and Bea are very similar, both are independent thinkers and a bit controlling. Their dialogue is full of wit and just so much fun to read. Real fears can unexpectedly get in the way of life, and this story highlights that. The connection and the chemistry between the two was off the charts. The book is paced evenly, and I'm SO hoping we get more about Felicity in a future book! *Review Copy requested and reviewed on behalf of OMGReads* |

I was grateful to receive a free copy of Casual Affair in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed getting to know Be and Zane. I loved the chemistry between them. I truly enjoyed the author, Melanie Munton's writing style and look forward to reading more of her books. |
Bea was harder for me to like than Zane. Zane was one who needed control but from what you learn of his past it’s understandable. Bea has a wall around her due to a past relationship. She uses it as a shield and doesn’t let anyone in. So when Zane and Bea start working and more together you see the struggle she has with keeping up that wall. Zane was more accepting to what was going on. He let it go organically and you see him grow and change because of that. Together these two are filled with sexual tension and when they get together wow. The attraction is palpable but Bea at first has reasons and excuses until Zane tackles them and doesn’t care. Watching these two fall in love was fun. Seeing the banter and how they understood and worked together was great. The banter was witty and biting. Bea didn’t not say what she thought and challenged Zane which is what he needed. Zane did the same for Bea. he challenged her. Bea though let her past collide with a wonderful present and almost loses the gamble. You feel for Zane at that moment because he was conflicted, hurt and angry. I love how he understood Bea and respected her. He let her have her independence but also loved and supported her and even when needed told her what was needed. They worked well together. The book was sexy and fun. Zane grew so much in this story and when he finally gave in and let go of the guilt he had it was precious. He also admitted when he was needing to change and that showed his growth and that he was adaptable. Loved him and especially with Bea. A sexy fun entertaining book with likeable characters and witty banter. |
