I received this ARC copy of this book from NetGallery for an honest review. I give this book 5 stars. The storyline between Bea and Zane was well written and a must read. |
Sexy, Sizzling & Fun! This was fun and sexy from the get go! Laugh out loud dialogue with plenty of sexy, witty banter this story captured my attention from the start and held it till the end. These two can not keep their eyes off of each other and their chemistry is sizzling hot! But with a important job on the line, Beatrice Paxton, the beautiful, sexy, passionate, as well as stubborn, southern interior designer is trying to keep her sizzling attraction to the British, sexy, hunk of a control freak, Millionaire software designer, Zane Price at bay. Until they can't stop their attraction any longer. Their passion is enthralling and breathtakingly scrumptious and delicious. I loved every word in this story. But Beatrice has baggage from her past and has always refused to let feelings infiltrate her heart. Will Zane breakdown her walls? Will Beatrice learn to love? You will have to read to find out! Loved it! Highly Recommend everyone to read this deliciously, sexy, sizzling and fun story. This was a New Author to me and I can't wait to read another story by Melanie Minton! What a gift! Received an ARC through the publisher via NetGalley and voluntarily wrote an honest review. |
He knows what he wants and is not above playing dirty to get it. She knows what she needs and that's not some smooth talking, sexy British playboy. Not only would it be bad for business, it could be detrimental to her heart. She can't afford to let her hormones write a check her heart can't cash. He refuses to walk away from a woman as intriguing as she is frustrating. Let the battle begin. Casual Affair is creatively smart, immensely sexy and the dialogue is the best in naughty word play. Ms. Munton has peaked my interest with this pair. |
bea paxton is a commitment-phobe. she also likes to be in control of most situations, mostly to ensure that she can find a way out if she needs to, but also because she gave up something important for someone else once and it turned out to be a sacrifice for the wrong reasons. an ex-boyfriend who valued her only for her connections to her father, and not because he loved her. this lesson has colored her life ever since, and she's kept men at bay, enjoying the pleasures of their company but nothing with real emotion. when she meets zane price in casual affair, her world is thrown off-kilter. the way she reacts to him isn't normal. he puts her on edge, even as he infuriates her with his need to control every detail and decision of their project. zane finds that he can't keep away from bea. he wants her, not just in bed, he wants something more. he never really thought he'd be able to open up to anyone the way he has with bea, but he recognizes her as a flight risk. and struggles with the right amount of openness about his feelings and his own need to dominate and control everything. the push and pull between bea and zane feels real. they both have reasons for being protective of their hearts, but those reasons are also the reason that they can connect at such a visceral level. from the moment they met, there was that spark, they were kindred spirits, and in one another there is a chance for true happiness. they just have to get past those demons. |
-Hot British Hero -Confident and sassy heroine -Instant attraction that was off the charts -Fun and faced paced read I like how these two meet. It was unique and both characters were fun. Some resisting, but they couldn't seem to keep their hands off each other. The end was pretty angsty, but overall a lighter read. This is a very safe read with no abuse or other woman/men drama. Bea Paxton is on a strange job interview. Zane Price has arranged for her to join him in playing paintball. She has never had such a strange interview in her life. Zane's company needs an interior decorating company to help him set up his flagship stores in the US. His company is from the UK and he needs local help. Bea really wants to work for the sexy Brit, but she doesn't know what to think of the weird interview. Once the second one is done she has a clear view. Can she keep it strictly business, or will they have a casual affair? Find out in this good read!!! |
Its fun, steamy and sweet. It's easy to like the two characters. I love Zane Price - I can practically hear his sexy british accent. And Bea - she might have some issues prior - but I'm glad she worked it out. |
Casual Affair is a book full of chemistry between the two main characters, Zane and Bea. I found this book to have lots of steamy love scenes. The supporting characters help add to the story and depth to the main characters. I loved the setting and plot line because they go remarkably together. Overall, this is a good romantic read that I enjoyed reading. |

This is the first book from this author that I've read, and I must say, I really enjoyed it. Loved the passion filled chemistry between Zane and Bea, it really gave the story some great depth and humor with the interaction these two had. Found it a bit weird with Zane's reason for not wanting to leave London, although I can understand the guilt he felt all those years. Loved Felicity and Peter, great accompaniment to the two main characters. Really great read, lots of hot, steamy, off the charts love scenes to keep you very entertained. a good solid story. Enjoyed it from the start. Hot in all the right spots. |
Casual Affair, by Melanie Munton is an interesting contemporary romance. Zane Price is temporarily living in the United States, while working abroad from England. His employer's company is focused on opening a new store, and Bea Paxton's interior design business is hired to assist. Zane and Bea's first introduction is through an entertaining paintball game, and they attempt to mute their instant attraction, due to to their business relationship. However, their romantic attraction continues and precedes other decisions, except their work-related concerns. Zane is a micro-manager and workaholic, while Bea insists on control at work, which provides them with plenty of opportunities to argue about work decisions and try to tame their on-going attraction. Casual Affair is a lighthearted, yet intensely romantic story and geared towards those who prefer reading contemporary romance books. Note: I received this book from NetGalley, which is a program designed for bloggers to write book reviews in exchange for books, yet the opinions expressed in this review are my own. |
I loved Bea’s ethos on her love life; keep it casual, don’t get serious and concentrate on your career. She then meets Zane Price who’s British (I did think Zane was quite and un-British name being a Brit myself but hey-ho). She immediately falls in lust with Zane, but he’s effectively her boss and her biggest client but Zane is moving back to England very soon though so he becomes even more of a temptation for a something short, sexy and very sweet. Couldn’t be more perfect, right? I liked this tale of cat and mouse and I loved Zane’s mouth, I loved his dirty talk so much and his determination to convince Bea to just go with it and what follows is a very nice and hot tale of two people falling love. Do they get their happy ever after? You’ll have to read the book. Another enjoyable addition to Entangled’s Brazen line which I thoroughly enjoyed. |
Ok read. I love a British man! Just wanted a little more and didn't really get it. |

The very first sentences set the tone for, Casual Affair. Hot, in a single word. I was impressed that Bea held out as long as she did, after seeing the chemistry that they share during their first meeting. Some of the sayings made me laugh so hard. I was at a restaurant reading at one point, and the lady next to me said she just had to know what book could make me laugh like that because she has to buy it. |
This book was a tough one to review. I didn't hate it, but I also didn't really like it. Somehow I just couldn't connect to either of the characters. The writing wasn't bad and the plot was pretty interesting, but it could've been better. I don't know exactly what I was missing. I just know I'd been expecting more of this book. Not a bad read, but also not a book I'd read twice. |
Zane gives some good darn answers:
“And you’re still on top of me, why?”
“Because part of me is quite comfortable here,” he admitted. “And a different part of me is about to be in a world of pain once I move. I’m trying to decide which part I should listen to.”
I liked this book, I loved when Zane and Bea would bump heads.
