I am a huge fan of Cat Schield books , so when The Heir Affair came out I was so excited and I dived into this book as soon as I could and OMG it was fantastic. Watching Melody and Kyle story play out was fantastic. It was sexy , genuine and swoon - worthy and I loved every word of this story.Iam so happy I got to see characters from the other books in the Las Vegas Nights series as well, it was so much fun seeing what everyone was up to !. I loved the Heir Affair ! it was much fun to read and had a twist I did not see coming and a epilogue that made me believe even more in happily ever afters .If your looking for a sexy , swoony, addicting romantic read you should definitely pick up this book as soon as you possibly can.

3 1/2 STARS!

Will a baby bring them back together? If you've read the previous books in the Las Vegas Nights series, you will recognize Melody and Kyle. I was really intrigued by their story from reading the lead up to it in the other books, but somehow it fell flat. I understood her being irritated that he didn't trust her, but her reaction to it was over the top. She was hard to connect with because it didn't feel like she even wanted to work things out with him. She was constantly blowing him off and making it seem like she felt like she was doing nothing wrong. I liked Kyle and I understood the walls he had up ... I just couldn't connect enough with her to believe their story.

Singer Melody Caldwell is supposed to be in a relationship with Kyle Tailor, but when her being on tour and away for months made him feel insecure, she basically gave up and ran away instead of even discussing things. When she finally is cornered and has no choice but to finally talk to him, she decides to finally fess up about the baby she's carrying as well.

Kyle Tailor knows he was in the wrong, but he also doesn't understand why Melody isn't willing to fight for their relationship. She acts like she doesn't even want to be with him anymore. He has issues that he's been working on from his youth, but how is he supposed to put what he's learned to use if she won't open up in return?

MY RATING: 3/5 STARS

I was provided an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I want to start off this review by stating that this isn't my typical romance story nor is it my typical Harlequin novel I would lean towards. It tells the tale of an already matured relationship. For me, I prefer to see a relationship blossom on the pages in front of me and only on rare occasions do I actually pick up a story like this one.

Regardless of my personal preference, I felt that Cat Shield wrote a solid story about two people who are struggling to stay together. Melody and Kyle both have suffered a lot during their time together due to misunderstandings, arguments, and distance because of their careers.

Together they work towards mending their relationship because of the baby they're expecting and it was nice to see them open up to each other about their problems and then finding solutions together. A thing that annoyed me was when Kyle was so accusatory in the beginning and he seemed so cold. I just don't understand jealous and insecure characters like him and it was a struggle to get through.

MY RECOMMENDATION:

If you like stories about a couple mending their relationship, this one is for you.

I enjoyed the previous book in the series, Little Secret, Red Hot Scandal but as I said in my review, I was more interested in the secondary couple than the main couple. The secondary couple in that book takes center stage in this book. Unfortunately, it was a let down.

The constant miscommunication and misunderstanding became stale and old really fast. It would've taken just one honest conversation between them and their problems would've been solved and we could've have a story about two couple rebuilding what was broken between them. Instead, we had the hero, Kyle's constant jealousy and mistrust.

The heroine, Melody, was another cause of frustration. Instead of answering Kyle directly, she deflects and runs away. And honestly, I didn't get why she's still insist on seeing the one person that could complicate matters between her and Kyle.

Frustrating and annoying. The conflict and the HEA felt off.

While the H frustrated me to no end, it was still a good read. Kept me entertained and loved their HEA.

You almost have to read the previous books in this series (which I didn't) or you will be lost (which I was) Melody is likeable, ( I guess) she just wavered back and forth-she's going to break up with Kyle, do you love me Kyle, want to stay with me Kyle) My head was spinning.

Kyle is okay, but he was too wishy washy about the baby. I think most of his wanting Melody was from his fear of losing her to another guy. The whole stalker plot line was so unnecessary.
