This was alright. I landed up skipping over the study questions eventually as I found them a bit over the top (also, I don't need to watch a 20 minute video that could have been 2 minutes, thanks). You can tell the author has a good heart, but sometimes she came across... pretentious maybe? Some of the stories she shared seemed off topic, and I found it hard to get hooked into the meat of this. However there were a few shining moments where I was swept up in God's love story for the church. It was interesting to see the song as an allegory of Christ loving His bride instead of the sexual interpretation that is usually focused on. I do think this is more suited to a personal study, rather than a group guide.

I must say that there are few preachers that have the courage to speak about the Song of Songs. If someone ever says anything from it, it is a wedding or a family sunday. I love this book for its metaphors. God has bring a new light on this book for me. I just felt like i was renewing my wedding vows.

I have been so excited about reading this book since I came across a blurb about it a few months ago. It certainly didn't disappoint. Brestin takes you through each verse of the Song of Songs and breaks it down for you, showing not only the meaning behind it, but Jesus within the passages. It's breathtaking! Such a wonderful new way to see the Song of Songs for so much more than simply human love and longing.
