I just loved this wrap up book. I have looked forward to these every year for 4 years now. This book is another treat from Elin Hinderbrand. To me, it is like a little breath of fresh air and break to other reading that I am doing right now. If you liked the other three Winter Street books you will love this and if this is your first one you will go back and read the others to find out what had happened before.

I should start by saying that I didn't know this was part of a series so I might have ruined the ending of this one for myself but it was still good. I love all of Elin's books and the multiple viewpoints. I feel like since I haven't read the other ones in this series, I was missing a lot of key backstory on the characters. There were also a lot of characters to keep track of and I wasn't exactly clear on how they were related which again was probably explained in the first books. So my best advice is to read the first 3 before reading this one.

I've enjoyed getting to know the Quinn family through the series, but this, the final book in the series, left me unsatisfied. Too many characters and competing story lines for my taste. Props though for mentioning Aurora, TC, and having a minor character named Leanne.

Affecting, heartwarming, and romantic!

Winter Solstice is a sweet, unexpected surprise that gives us one last chance to check in with the Quinns and savour their special moments, new loves, old loves, and heartbreaking losses.

The prose is clean and crisp. The characters are lovable, engaging, and genuine. And the plot is a compelling tale about life, love, family, acceptance, loss, sorrow, friendship, growing up, growing old, and moving on.

Winter Solstice is ultimately an emotional ending to a charming series that will make you laugh, make you smile, and at times even make you cry. A true wintry delight!

It's been a long time since the entire Quinn family has been together to celebrate the holidays, but this year it will happen. Bart is back from Afghanistan, Patrick is getting back on his feet after his incarceration, Kevin is enjoying his new family, Ava has found new love, and Kelley is thrilled to have all of his kids home again, even if it is just for a short time. But it wouldn't be the Quinn family without a few bumps along the way.

I was surprised to see another book in the Winter series, since I thought it was supposed to be a trilogy. The author's note explained how this fourth book came to be, and I'm glad it did. I feel like the Quinn family and the rest of the characters from these books have become friends, and it was good to get answers to some of the questions I had when the third book ended. The ending, of course, was heart-wrenching, but it was necessary and wrapped things up for me.

This is the final book in the Winter Street series and it wraps up the stories of the Quinn family. Kelley Quinn, owner of Winter Street Inn has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. Mitzi, Kelley's wife, is trying to figure out what to do with her future. The Quinn children are figuring out how to 'adult'. Even Margaret, Kelley's ex-wife, is making changes in her life.
The confusion I had with the book was there were characters I recognize, Eddie, Allegra, but could not place with the Winter Street series. Turns out they are from a different book by the author and once I figured that out the story made sense.
In the end this was a satisfying conclusion to the Winter Street series but I recommend reading the other books prior to reading this one.

I remember reading the first two books in this series and being absolutely unable to put them down. The third book wasn't as good for me as the first two and it was supposed to be the conclusion to this series. When it ended on a cliffhanger, I was half apprehensive/half excited for a fourth book. And while I think the series concluded sufficiently, it was rather melancholy as opposed to the first three books and what I kind of come to want from Elin Hilderbrand. Granted, she doesn't always give us a happy ending but this one left me a bit blue. I love the Quinn family she created in these books and I love the Nantucket setting in winter but I couldn't help but want a bit more from this ending. That being said, I still recommend this series - now that they are all out, it would be perfect to binge read them during the holidays!

Winter Solstice comes out next week on October 3, 2017, and you can purchase HERE.

The first weekend of December on Nantucket is Christmas Stroll. It has been this way Bart's entire life, but he never cared, barely noticed, and didn't think to celebrate.
Until this year.

Because this year he's in love.

He's in love!

Elin Hilderbrand is my go to beach/pool side read for the past couple years. Her books are always just want I am looking for at the exact moment so I was excited to see another book of hers on netgalley. I love how she is writing a winter series. I love me some winter so I loved reading about cold snowy days and it got me so excited for the winter!
Elin’s always inserts the right formula into her books! She keeps me interested throughout the quick read, with amazing writing, great storyline that will have you laughing and crying. The ending was very bitter sweet for me for the reason that we are not going to be getting anything more of this family but I am excited for other families Elin decides to write about next.

The fourth book in a family saga set on Nantucket. I hadn't read the first three but caught up on the family via this one! An easy and quick read, well written, and sure to be enjoyed by readers of light women's fiction. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an Advance Reader Copy.

Once more with feeling.

It wouldn’t be Autumn without a stroll down Winter Street on Nantucket Island and a chance to catch up with the Quinn family at the Winter Street Inn. Winter Solstice is the fourth and final installment of the Winter Series by Elin Hilderbrand. I can’t be the only fan who was happy there were so many loose ends to tie up in Winter Storms that this trilogy was made into a quartet. If you haven’t read the first three books involving the Quinns I recommend you make your holiday season richer by starting the series with Winter Street. Don’t read the next paragraph unless you wants hints of events to come.

So what’s been happening at the Winter Street Inn? Bart is back home and safe, spending most of his time in his room dealing with survivor’s guilt the only way he knows how. Mitzi and Kelley have challenges of their own but Mitzi convinces Bart to allow her to throw a birthday party for him at the Inn. Like Bart says, his is one of the three worst birth dates to have, October 31st.
Patrick is out of prison having served his time for insider trading and is trying to get his business up and running again. His wife Jennifer is keeping the family afloat financially with her interior design business and has some tough decisions to make with client demands. Kevin and Isabelle are the proud parents of two kids and a business which is flourishing on the island. Ava is teaching music at an exclusive private school on the Upper East Side of New York, and feeling her way through a new relationship. Margaret is about to end her career behind the anchor desk at CBS.

Thanks to the author for giving us sweet and bittersweet glimpses into the lives of these memorable characters. It is impossible not to shed a tear knowing the Quinns will carry on without us.

ARC received with thanks from Little, Brown and Company and NetGalley for review.

I received an ARC of Winter Solstice from Netgalley in exchange for honest feedback.

I was so happy to reconnect with the Quinn Family for one last time. I have loved following along with all of the siblings over the series - watching them grow as a family and more importantly as individuals. I think Elin Hilderbrand ties up the characters very nicely and the reader will be left at peace - knowing everyone is taken care of. It was even nice to see some of the characters from The Rumor (though note to reader, you do not have to read the Rumor as a pre-req - though it would be helpful so you know all of those characters), and I was super happy to see them intertwined - and see that Bart finds true love (War Hero's, like all people deserve to find happiness).
I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who loves Elin's books, and all my friends who enjoy reading women's fiction!

I always look forward to a new Elin Hilderbrand release. They have been a summer staple of mine for years, and I was so excited to see this winter series a few years ago. I thought book three was the final installment, so I was surprised and excited to see a 4th book! This was a quick, easy read (I finished in one day!). It's so easy to get lost in the characters and the setting of the book. Of course the ending was sad and I shed a few tears, and I'm sorry we won't be keeping up with this family, but I am excited about the next winter series! Keep em coming!

Here is the text of my review on Goodreads :
I received a free ebook from Netgalley in exchange for this review. It's another truly entertaining read from Ms. Hilderbrand! This is the first one of hers I've read in print, I've listened to most of her others on audio. I read her books when I am stressed and need to escape into another world. In Winter Solstice, I was transported to Nantucket and right back into the Quinn family's world. It was a great (and unexpected) addition to what was originally going to be a trilogy. It flowed naturally and didn't feel like an "add-on." Fans of Ms Hilderbrand will not be disappointed

In the final book in the Winter Street series, once again the Quinn family is gathered at the holidays. With Kelley quickly fading with terminal brain cancer, how will this family move on? Now that Bart is back home, how will he adjust to civilian life? Now that Ava is living in New York, will she finally settle down with the right man? So many questions for this beloved family.

Even though you knew how it would end, it was still hard. I really enjoyed this series. Elin Hilderbrand is one of my favorite authors. Thanks to her and Netgalley for the advanced copy!

Patriarch Kelley Quinn is dying and Mitzi, his wife, is trying to make his last days as nice as possible. Though their children have their own lives, they are still there for their father. Kevin and Patrick are married with children. Ava has made a life for herself in New York with her boyfriend, Potter. Bart is a former marine, now recovering at home after being captured in Afghanistan. As Thanksgiving and Christmas approach, they celebrate the holidays as they know it will be Kelley's last.

This is the fourth and last book of the Winter series. Though I hadn't read the first three books, there was enough information to the background. It would help, though, to have read the first three as I feel I would have been more emotionally invested in the characters. Needless to say, I'm going to read them.

I liked the writing style of this book and found it an easy read. The writing is in third person perspective with the focus on the different characters including Kelly, Ava, Jennifer (Patrick's wife), and Eddie (a man who lives in their town), what was going on in their lives and what they were thinking (the chapters are labeled).

There is a sad but happy ending and all the characters get their lives together as the series ends.

I received this ARC from Netgalley for an honest review.
This is the final chapter in the Winter series for Eilin Hilderbrand. I was glad to see the story wrap up but it felt rushed and all sewn up. I'm not left wondering how things will end for the characters left behind.

This is the fourth book in the series and the last in the Winter series. Most books work as a stand alone novel when I have not read the previous ones. This one did not. I have not read the previous books in this series and I absolutely believe that if I had read those books, I would have enjoyed this book more. I can only say that if you have not read the previous books in this series, do so prior to reading this book!

The winter solstice is approaching as the Quinn Family gathers for the holidays. One of their family members has a terminal illness and will not be around much longer. The family gathers to say goodbye and to begin new paths of their lives. I found the ending to be emotional even though I did not know all of the characters well or their history.

Even though I have not read the other books in this series, I found the book to be a fast read. I wished I had read the other books as I felt there was something lacking. I am sure that fans of this series were happy (yet saddened) with the ending. The writing was solid and the pacing was good. The story had redemption, a war hero returning hone and coping with PTSD and survivors guilt, there is romance, a chance for new beginnings, a chance to say goodbye, and a chance to be a family.

I received a copy of this book from Little, Brown and Company and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I'm a sucker for Elin Hilderbrand books and also for Christmas-themed stories so this book was right up my alley. I didn't realize that it was the 4th story in a series about the same family and the Christmas holidays. I did not need to read the other three to follow the story but it may have helped my original comprehension of the characters. Beautiful thematic Nantucket-centered story about the Quinn family and those that are close to them. Thank you to NetGalley and Little, Brown and Company for this ARC in return for my honest review.

Elin Hildebrand has written an exceptional book. She gives us family life in all the ways we really live.

How thankful are we fans of Elin's to get a fourth book in what we thought was a Trilogy. This book nicely ties up this series with wonderful and creative stories as well invites a few new characters that I suspect may take us into the future. As Kelly is ill and Mitzi starts planning for her future, she's thinking of selling the Inn. What?! How does everyone else feel about this? Bart is finally coming out of his room and thinking about his future. Kevin and Isabelle already have their business going, as do Patrick and his family in Boston. Get ready to read and delve into the excitement as decisions are made. Did someone mention the Caribbean? Shhhhh. You will love this book!
