Stars of YouTube channel, Fit Couple Cooks, Stephanie Tornatore and Adam Bannon complied a fun cookbook to show people how easy it is to prepare healthy well portioned meals throughout their busy week. They have created a series of simple but enticing menus. Each week is then laid out with a "Prep day action plan" showing how to portion and prepare for the week ahead, the recipes with easy to follow steps, and a go-to shopping list to make everything as easy as possible. Although the meals are healthy they are not the run of the mill diet foods. This is a great book for anyone looking to make easy yummy healthy meals regardless of how busy they are.

This is a neat cookbook - lots of color photos, great use of colors to make the pages vibrant. The recipes were varied and I liked that the authors gave substitutions for things to switch it up even more.

A colorful, friendly primer to meal-prep cooking that includes an introduction to the art of weekly prep, 12 full-fledged weeks of meal plans, and tips and tricks for snacking and storage. Each weekly meal plan offers beautiful photographs, shopping lists and recipes for breakfast, lunch and dinner variations on a theme, e.g. low carb, vegetarian, Asian or Mediterranean. Overall, well organized and extremely useful. That said, if you're not a fan of eating the same meal for a few days in a row, this may not be the book for you. After all, the factory-like assembly of clone meals is basically the whole point of meal prep. Variety is the spice of life and I love rotating cuisines as much as the next gal, but I personally have no issue with repeating lunches if it means I can consolidate the tediousness of calorie-counting, macro-fitting, food-scavenging into one day of the week.

As someone who probably spends too much time scouring Meal Prep Sunday on Reddit and mindlessly pinning meal prep recipes on Pinterest, I fall squarely into this recipe-book's target audience. I've even cooked recipes from the authors' YouTube channel, which is part of the reason I was so excited to check out the book in the first place!

I had great hopes for this recipe book, hoping to find a way to make ahead healthy and tasty meals for a week. After browsing through the book, I found that none of the recipes or photos of the foods really made me want to try cooking them. The quality of the photos seems poor--the food color looks dull, sometimes appearing undercooked (particularly chicken dishes), and uninteresting. Maybe it's the photos of the food for the week all lined up on a double page, but it just didn't look good to me.
The book does have step-by-step instructions for preparing the food in advance on the weekend, along with detailed shopping lists. So, if you do find the food appealing, the book makes it easy to prepare. But, I don't think I'm going to try any of the recipes.

My daughter and I have recently become meal preppers, since I always struggle to have a healthy lunch and she is just beginning her first year of a rigorous doctorate program and will be at school all day, then go right to work. We've had some fun troling Pinterest for ideas, but quickly found that there's not a lot of variety there, so I was happy to find this book on netgalley.

Tornatore and Bannon have created a readable, attractive, and easy to follow guide to prepping a remarkable variety of meals. While neither of us is vegan, my daughter and I both appreciated the inclusion of meat-free meals. We also really liked the inclusion of an equipment list for each week, as well as the Prep Day Action Plan. Another bonus is the inclusion of breakfasts and desserts. The book is filled with helpful tips and advice, and the recipes are easy to follow. Combine all that with beautiful, eye-catching photography and you've got a hit.

This book was just okay for me. If you have no clue about how to prepare meals ahead, this may work for you. I get that this was a healthy approach to prepping; however, I just didn't find any of the meals that appetizing. In fact they looked really boring. The good thing is that the book is compact and gives you recipes if you're need that kind of help.

A great title for new or experienced meal preppers.

I really like the idea behind this book. I like that it has meals for six days of the week, with room for a "cheat day" or whatever you'd like to put in there. I also like that it has grocery lists for each week. The only thing I didn't like, is that I can't eat the same thing for the entire week. Maybe other people can, but not I. This book is great for the single person who is very busy. Definitely not for families. Though, my favorite part was that I didn't need a culinary PhD to be able to make these recipes. They were simple, but not boring. I could identify them, and would be able to make them as a home cook.

This book is a perfect companion and point of inspiration for people like myself who like to prepare their meals for the week in advance, but find themselves stuck in a rut of eating the same basic meals over and over. The authors give a lot of great advice about mixing up routine and finding ways to make healthy foods exciting and delicious, and also save some money on groceries. I can't wait to try out some of the recipes for myself this week!

The presentation of the book is lovely, with beautiful pictures and clear instructions on how to make each meal. This book and I will be friends for a long time to come!

A great selection of recipes for a very popular concept of cooking. Those looking for meal prep ideas, this will be a great book to pick up.

The only weird thing was that instead of a photo of 6 containers the dish featured, the exact same image was just copy/pasted 6 times. It was distracting! But the recipes themselves and all the great tips and shopping lists more than made up for that.

I have no idea why I seem to break out in hives when I think about preparing meals ahead of time, but this book proved to be a balm for those imaginary hives. It's super simple to follow, with healthy meals that include easy-to-find ingredients which I think will actually fit my budget. I'm especially interested in the breakfast recipes since it's the only meal I skip (and the worse one to skip apparently). Prep day action plans actually help me get my head into the game and force myself to make the meals - which are (again) healthy and delicious.
