I always look forward to these Buzz Books. They provide an invaluable preview of the best books coming up soon. Such a great idea to be able to read an extended excerpt.

Thanks so much to the publisher and to NetGalley for giving me access to this book. I love these quick snippets of novels coming out in 2017. I like getting an idea of what new fiction is coming out. Thanks again for this selection of novels. I have found a few that will be appealing to our patrons.

As always with these titles, some work well and make me desperate to get my hands on the book and some less so. However, I always like having the chance to see what's coming up. Just sorry that my lack of organisation has meant I'm slow in posting reviews.

This was super informative for me to look forward to upcoming books coming out in September. I appreciated being able to read snippets and learn more about what's coming up.

I tried a couple of these monthly Buzz Books but they were a bit too short for my liking. I'm always very excited for the seasonal Buzz Books, but this format works less well for me.

Still reading books from this edition as well. Hard to keep up with all the worthy new edition, but always welcome, of course!I love Buzz Book Monthly and always find multiple books both by favorite authors and new ones that I know to look forward to. Thanks for continuing to make them!

Although I found the premise of this book interesting, I do think that it would be quite easy to find book recommendations online without having to purchase a book such as this. Having stated the overall impression I had of this book review I did find the material in this book to be very interesting and informative.

Another great collection of book excerpts - these just keep adding to my To Be Read lists.

As per usual these Buzz Books are SO helpful! I am always able to find so many books that I end up loving thanks to these publications. I also love that I'm able to get a better idea of books that may not be the right fit for me thereby saving some serious time!

I love reading these! I found these at the beginning of last year, and always find so many new stories to as to my reading list!

I always look forward to and enjoy reading the Buzz Books Monthly about upcoming releases! I usually find myself adding many of the featured books to my "to read" list on GoodReads. The September 2017 edition was no different.

The Best Kind of People, Good Me Bad Me, and Lie to Me all look to be promising releases!

I thoroughly enjoyed a high percentage of these excerpts and found several new "go-to" books for the coming year.

Review: Much like my other review of a Buzz Books collection I will be discussing each of the excerpt individually although there is one excerpt that overlaps from my other review: Warcross by Marie Lu so I won’t be talking about that one again, but you can see my previous review for my thoughts on it.
The Child Finder by Rene Denfeld – This book is about Naomi, a private investigator who has a talent for finding missing children earning her the nickname “the child finder” who is hired to find Madison Culver who went missing three years earlier. Naomi starts her investigation by getting to know the family and gather all the information she can about Madison but what intrigued me the most is the chapter told from what I believed to be Madison’s perspective which could be set shortly after she was taken – which is what I believe – or it could indicate that she is still alive even after disappearing in the Skookum National Forest during a blizzard. A psychological thriller mystery I will be looking at buying.
Fever by Deon Meyer – From what I can gather from the blurb this excerpt is about Nico Storm and his father Willem as they escape a devastating virus and seeks to rebuild a community from the ashes of the ones the virus destroyed. We follow Nico and Willem as they try to survive until they are attacked by dogs resulting in his father getting bitten and possibly contracting the fever that has decimated everything.
Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng – I have never read anything by Celeste Ng before and I have seen some rave reviews for Little Fire Everywhere, so I was excited to see what it was all about. All we get from the blurb is that this is the intertwined stories of the picture-perfect Richardson family and the mother and daughter who upend their lives. We learn that Isabelle is being accused of setting fire to the family home at various points with accelerant but the only person home at the time was her mother. The excerpt focuses on the fire and the immediate aftermath but the mother seems determined not to believe that her daughter tries to kill her but there is mentioned that Izzy has had mental health problems for a while but there may be more than meets the eye here.
Sourdough by Robin Sloan – This is a book I haven’t heard anything about, but we are introduced to Lois Clary who is a software engineer, whose work is her life but when a mysterious menu appears on her door she decides to give it ago and falls in love with the food. She learns that the restaurant is run by two brothers; Beoreg and Chaiman who operate from their home and she becomes their number one customer. However, the brother soon encounters visa trouble and must leave but not without leaving Lois with her last order and something truly special. This novel gave me Food Wars vibes – my anime fans will know what I mean, if not check it out – and a food based novel is something I will definitely give a go.
Hanna Who Fell From the Sky by Christopher Meades – This is another book I know nothing about, but the blurb introduced to Hanna who lives in the secluded community of Clearhaven and it describes a community that sounded very Mormon-esque to me, so I was very intrigued. We know Hanna is one of the eldest of 14 children from several different wives and as her birthday approaches she knows she is going to be married off to a man in the community who could already have several wives, children or be much older than her but she has been conditioned through violence and fear not to ask questions or question the authority of the men in the community especially her father. This one was very interesting, and I will be picking it up soon.
The End of the World Running Club by Adrian J. Walker – This book is one I have seen around but don’t know much about but from the blurb I gathered that this book is about Edgar Hill who must travel to the other side of the world back to his wife and children after the world ends, so it seems like a dystopian/survival novel not something I read much of now, but this might reignite my interest in the genre. I didn’t really connect with this excerpt, but it seemed like something I might enjoy if I sat down with the full novel, but I will keep an eye on kindle sales for this one.
Misadventures of a City Girl by Meredith Wild and Chelle Bliss – The last excerpt in this collection is labelled as romance which is a genre I normally avoid but of clichés and bad writing, but I’ll give any novel a go. In this excerpt we meet Madison Atwood fresh from her divorce to a Hollywood star she moves away only to meet Luke Dawson and obviously romance will ensue. In the aftermath of her divorce Madison decides to book a month long stay at Avalon Springs in Northern California to allow the hype about the collapse of her marriage to die down.

I love having these monthly guides because it allows me to see what is coming out and to read a few snippets of books that I might not normally read otherwise. Great resource to have

The excerpts are always just the right length to give you a taste of the book that leaves you wanting more - and helps you decide whether or not the book is right for you and your online publication.

I thoroughly enjoy the ability to preview a variety of stories from authors both familiar and unfamiliar to me. Thank you for making this format available as it's truly fun to get a 'sneak peek' behind stories that are hot off the press.

I tried this for the first time and while it's an interesting concept I like to read entire books... just excerpts aren't enough ;)

As an avid reader who likes to read and discover new books to read, I am always delighted to read this. I think it is a great book to read if you want a sample of the new books coming out. However, if you are like me, you may become addicted to this series.
