This book took a lot of twists and turns! Half way through part 2, I felt like I needed to go back and restart the book again (I didn't, but was pretty confused for a while). I did think that the one person who had "a hand" in part of the evil was guilty, but at the end, I had no idea she would be involved (not to give spoilers away). You had to really focus while reading or you'd miss a key point.

This book was awesome. I loved how the typical story takes twists unknown to the reader. I loved the author’s writing style and the way the words were simple but conveyed a lot. I would love to read more.

I'm honestly at a loss for words. The ending to this book has me stymied. I really don't know what to make of it.

Despite a slow beginning, the Wife Between Us was fast paced and had me reeling for the entire ending. I was definitely driven by the need to know what would happen next and that kept me up well into the night reading. There really isn't much to say about the book without spoiling it, but I will say that it requires all your attention to keep up with it.

4.5 stars - This book came highly recommended to me and it did not disappoint. I found it to be a very quick read because I couldn't put it down and wanted to know what happened. I found the plot kept you guessing and there were surprise twists and turns throughout the book that kept you hooked. Sometimes I feel that authors add way too many attempts at twists trying to make something good that it just ends up being distracting -- that was completely not the case with this book. I was impressed by how much all the little twists actually added to the story and was impressed how Hendricks kept track of all of them. Then when I read that this was her first novel...shocked! I look forward to future books from Hendricks and would definitely recommend this book to friends of mine who like this genre.

I could not put this book down nor did I want to put it down. What a fantastic read with surprises, twist, turns and a suprise ending that I did not see coming. I loved the way the characters developed as the story progressed which made this such a great book. This is going to be a best-seller after it comes out. Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC of this brilliant brook.

Loved the twists and turns in this book! I didn't see most of them coming! I almost want to read it over again right away! These authors have a unique writing style that captivated me. I will be looking for more of their writing! If you love psychological thrillers, this is the book for you! A great read!

I read the description of this book and immediately thought of Gone Girl. A wife, an affair, the wronged woman, etc. In many ways, this was the story, the ex-wife, the current fiance/soon to be new wife and the horrible husband. I knew within a few chapters that Richard, the husband was abusiive. I felt for the first wife - asking why she stayed with him...and then I thought the soon to be new wife would fall into the same trap as the first wife. However, there are many twists and turns in this book and a surprise ending which I didn't expect. Good quick read. I would recommend for high school or adult.

I know I am probably going to get beat up for this, but here goes nothing….

Secrets, lies, and a whole lot of over-the-top twists make up The Wife Between Us. This was a fun and entertaining read, but in the end it wasn’t the right book for me.

I loved the first half of this book--I ate up every word, and dreaded the moment when I had to put it down. I was surprised by the first twist--it threw me for a loop! Seriously, I was so addicted to this book that I read it every chance I got, including walking to my car at night (dumb move on my end).

But then as more and more twists occurred and Vanessa’s story further unraveled, I just wasn’t feeling it anymore. I grew bored as I waiting for something to happen. After her final confrontation with Richard, the remaining chapters felt superfluous. And that final twist?! UGH. NOPE. Did not work for me.

I finished the final page, rolled my eyes and groaned out of frustration. What had started out with so much promise turned into a bit of a ridiculous mess that seemed more concerned with twists than substance.

This book is receiving tons of great reviews, and many of my Goodreads friends absolutely love it. I am often overly critical when it comes to thrillers, so I would recommend that you read The Wife Between Us and judge for yourself!

I would have given this one star, but bumped up my rating as I was completely captivated and entertained by the first half.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

The Wife Between Us by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen is most assuredly not my cup of tea. I did not enjoy reading it. So then, why the high rating? Why am I about to rave about it? Because this book is important. It delves into a subject far too easily dismissed and too stigmatized to get the attention it deserves. I’ll put it this way: the book’s synopsis is spot on, and I feel this is a must-read for young adults especially.

I don’t wish to reveal spoilers, but at the same time I feel it is my responsibility to alert my readers when there may be content in a book that could potentially trigger them. The Wife Between Us deals with the dynamics of a relationship: the good, the bad, and the ugly. If you’re currently recovering from a less than savory relationship, you may want to hold off on this: if you’re looking for a reminder that you’re not crazy though, it’s perfect. I had to stop reading a time or two for a bit, and I even caught myself crying as I finished the final pages of this book.

Hendricks and Pekkanen’s characters are remarkably average, and I feel that is important to point out. Too many times we get books with unbelievable roles cast and this allows us, as readers, to dissociate from thee story itself. In this case, as far as the women of the book are concerned, it’s quite realistic and believable.

There are moments in The Wife Between Us where I cried out, swearing in surprise. Hendricks and Pekkanen manage to write things without too much foreshadowing; their twists and turns come as a slap to the face. It keeps the reader on edge and keeps the plot from growing dull.

While I may not have found this book to be enjoyable for myself, I do love the talent that both writers clearly have. I was unable to detect the style changes, which also means that they blend in well together. I’d like to thank St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for the opportunity to review this book, free of charge, for the purpose of an unbiased review.

Thank you Netgalley for the advanced copy of this ebook in exchange for my honest review.

I enjoyed this book immensely and certainly got caught up in the story as the other reviewers did while reading.

The husband was seemingly perfect, as you would expect because the wife just couldn't let go of him, even after the transgressions of an affair. The tagline is "Assume nothing" which of course made me go into a brainstorming frenzy of what could possibly be happening throughout the story. I did like the book, it was a pretty quick read, with one major twist.

The writing was well-done, but at times the organization of the flashbacks or memories caused confusion at the end of them; as I had forgotten where the characters had left off.

By page 71 I had the whole book figured out. By part two, I started second guessing myself trying to find importance in every little detail because I was being thrown for a ride. Then came the ending, and I didn't see any of it coming! Fantastic domestic thriller that I will be passing along to everyone I know!

Psychological suspense has long been my go-to genre, even before it became a big thing. Some books are done well, others are predictable and not really worth your reading time. The Wife Between Us is a definite winner on all points in this genre of books. It goes directions you won’t expect, but will be so excited to read when those directions change. The creativity of the authors is stellar and the book is a very satisfying read. Take my word for it and go pre-order yourself a copy.

Great book. I loved it. Very suspenseful. I actually thought I had it figured out and though I was about done but I was only finished with Part I. You can't make any assumptions with this book!!

The Wife Between Us is a fascinating story! A psychological thriller, a romantic suspense, a story with so many twists and turns I couldn't keep my head on straight. I didn't heed the warning in the synopsis that told me not to assume anything. In fact, I think the authors pulled some reverse psychology on me, because I did the complete opposite and made assumptions all the way through this book!

All we know from the blurb is that there is a jealous ex-wife who can't stand the thought of her husband marrying a younger woman. And as the story rolls out, that is exactly what it sounded like was happening. But it was more than just a jealous ex. We get the story of a woman who is so despondent over the dissolution of her marriage and the loss of the man she loves that she is spiraling into the deepest pits of despair.

We get a story that is so multilayered and convoluted, I wasn't sure what was up and what was down, what was real and what was imagined. I've seen the term "unreliable narrator" used generously as people are talking about this book and that is exactly what I thought while reading it. But perhaps we should be using the term "unreliable reader" because looking back at the content of what is told to us, the information and clues are often there, we just choose not to see or hear them because we've gone into this book with preconceived notions of what is going to transpire.

I am not exaggerating when I say that nothing is as it seems throughout this book. All the way to the very end, the authors hit us with twists and turns to this story. Surprises around many corners and revelations that I couldn't have guessed no matter how long I sat there and tried. I have to admit I had a little difficulty in part one truly understanding exactly what was going on, and only after reading back over certain scenes in that part did I comprehend what I was reading, and then the light bulb went on. But I finally got on the right train (of thought) and then I couldn't put the book down. I had to know what was happening, like really happening and not just what the "unreliable narrator" was telling us. It's a rollercoaster ride for sure! I know I will continue to think about this book for days and weeks to come, going back and analyzing certain parts over and over again to see where I missed the clues, or how I construed something differently than what it actually was.

I commend Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen on this riveting tale that kept me glued to the pages until the very end.

NetGalley and St. Martin's Press provided me an advance copy of the book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

I don't know what it was about this that would not let me stay interested in this. It seems to have everything you would want in a Mystery/Thriller, including several 5-star reviews, and yet, I just couldn't seem to care enough about it. It just seemed to have the depressing feel to it and I found myself not wanting to read it. So…it took me a while to finish it…

But really…

…The Wife Between Us is a haunting story with a cleverly crafted plot and twists you won't see coming. Overall, you probably shouldn't let my feelings on it sway you into not reading it because plenty of readers loved it.

So I had heard nothing but praises for THE WIFE BETWEEN US by the duo of Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen. I had no idea it was going to be so addictive and twisty! I read this book in two sittings (only because it was 3am and I made myself go to bed) and I couldn’t stop!

When you read this book, you will make many assumptions. You will assume you are reading about a jealous wife and her obsession with her replacement. You will assume you are reading about a woman about to enter a new marriage with the man she loves. You will assume the first wife was a disaster and that the husband was well rid of her. You will assume you know the motives, the history, the anatomy of the relationships. Assume nothing

I can only put the blurb in because it’s so true. You will make so many assumptions as you read this book. I’m telling you now, none of them will be right. As soon as I thought I had everything figured out, I was thrown a curveball. I think I said, “NO! WHAT THE HELL?!” at least three times to my friend as I was reading it. This is one of my top books I’ve read for 2017 – despite it coming out in 2018.

Overall, if you love twisty psychological books, then you need to pick this one up. Unreliable narrators, different POV’s, and multiple twists you won’t see coming make for an addictive and page turning read!

I give this a solid 5/5 stars!

A fantastic read! The twisty plot and careful character deception leads the reader on a merry go round where shocking revelations lurk around every turn. Which of these flawed character do you believe? The truth is shocking. Fans of Gone Girl a!d Girl on a Train have found their next great read.

It wasn't until I came to post my review that I realized the true genre of the book - suspense, thriller. I don't normally review this genre and even though there was suspense in the book, for some reason it didn't compute. I guess it's been that kind of week. With that out of the way, I have to say that this book was awesome. I thought I was following the plot, and then I was confused, and I then I was even more confused! I loved it! It's been a while since a book has kept me guessing and I enjoyed every minute of it.

The writing was fantastic through the many twists and turns of the story, right up until the end. Just reading the cover will grab you - 3 sides to a marriage, 2 authors to tell it, 1 insanely addictive novel - read between the lies! I've never been one to regurgitate the plot and I'm not going to start. You won't be able to put this book down! It is truly as the description depicts!

When you read this book, you will make many assumptions.
You will assume you are reading about a jealous ex-wife.
You will assume she is obsessed with her replacement – a beautiful, younger woman who is about to marry the man they both love.
You will assume you know the anatomy of this tangled love triangle.
Assume nothing.

Twisted and deliciously chilling...

Vanessa was married to a charming rich hedge fund manager Richard and seemingly had a perfect life. But Richard is now engaged to another while Vanessa is picking up the pieces of her shattered life. Vanessa in an alcoholic haze and ridden with jealousy starts stalking the fiancée but nothing is what it seems.

This book is a gripping domestic tale of deceit, love, relationships and betrayal. Full of twists and turns ,unreliable narrator and a complex storyline makes it a compelling read. A great addition to the domestic psychological genre

Many thanks to the authors, St. Martin's Press & NetGalley for providing me an ARC of this book in exchange for a honest and fair review.

Many of my Goodread friends raved about this book... Well, I’m the odd one out. I was enjoying this for awhile, but then confusion set in for a good portion of the book, and I just simply didn’t enjoy it anymore.

However, thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC.
