A really fun interactive book that my toddler loved reading with me. She was really engaged with the book and we had tons of fun reading it together.

I received this arc from Netgalley for an honest review.
Where is my coat is a guessing game book. The outlines of animals are provided and the reader must help the animals find their coats. Great book for little kids who enjoy a fun activity while reading.

I loved this book, I have a daughter who I am looking to build up a little library of first books for and this one will be ideal to get her used to identifying animals and their noises - cannot wait to get to share it with her properly - 5 stars from me!!

I absolutely loved reading this with my daughter. I love the bright vibrant pictures and in some ways it reminds me of the Nick Sherratt book "Foggy Foggy Forest" as that uses silhouettes also. I like the element of guessing, it give the child a chance to learn shapes of animals and eventually they begin to anticipate the next animal through its' shape. I really enjoyed it and I'd thoroughly recommend it!

I would say this is aimed at 0-2 year olds as my 3 year old daughter knew all of the animals just by looking at theie shadows. It is a very good book to help children with knowing their animals

The animals have lost their coats and we have to identify the animals with the silhouettes.

A fun, interactive, visual learning tool for toddlers to learn their colors as well as learning about animals and how they look. A great way to introduce young children to animal facts and their different markings.

A book aimed at toddlers to stimulate development, it helpfully provides black-and-white silhouettes to encourage awareness and identification of shapes, as well as the same pictures in full colour. A fun idea which allows for a bit of guessing and game-play at story time.

This is a very simple book that my grandson liked. Each animal is featured in silhouette with repeated words asking where their coat is and can you tell what animal we are. My grandson liked the guessing part and knew them all except the zebra as he thought it was a horse. We had the opportunity to talk about that. The only complaint we had was that it was not long enough. He kept asking for more animals to guess. It is not really a book we would reread a lot, but I know he will want to read it a few more times at least. A good book for a nursery/preschool.

Clever visual matching exercises to help kids recognize shapes, patterns and colors that are familiar to specific animals they may have seen at the zoo or in other picture books. Very appealing and simple illustrations. Perfect addition to any board book collection.

This is your typical ‘what animal am I book”. This one uses shapes and silhouettes to give the reader a hint at what animal may be represented. Each new animal asks you to help find their coat. But you never even see coats. I think, especially for the board book age, there should be a page with coats that the kids can try to match to the animal. Otherwise, the premise is half done and wasted.

Animal silhouettes want you to guess what they are. . . and help them find their coats, as the title spells out.
For the most part it’s incredibly simple, so this would be good for really young kids. The artwork is playful. I really can’t think of anything else to say, as it’s so simplistic and yet just perfect the way it is.

Novel idea. The silhouettes of an animal and its baby appear first--elephants, giraffes, zebras, crocodiles, lions, etc.. The animals say they are missing their coats and wonder if you know what they are. On the following page, colorful illustrations show the animals. with their "coats." A book to entertain toddlers--one they will want to read over and over. Adorable!

This book was cute with a good learning concept. I just wish there were some more animals than 5.

Where is my coat jungle animals by Anita Bijsterbosch.
Toddlers will learn to identify animals with these black-and-white and color pictures that stimulate visual development. The jungle animals in this book need your help. Will you help them find their coats and give them their colors back? Turn the page and discover who they are. Crocodiles, elephants or lions? Or maybe zebras? An animal book with black-and-white and color pictures that stimulate visual development.
My girls loved the pictures in this book. And they got the animals right too. 5*. Netgalley and clavis books.

So this is probably going to sound like I'm overthinking the book, but bear with me. I think for me there is a disconnect between the "where is my coat?" question and the identifying of the animals. It seems like if you're asking about the animal's coats, there should be color and shape-related questions to answer. For instance, if you have the silhouette of a zebra, and you ask "can you help us find our coats? what animal are we?" Then, the answer should be something more along the lines of, "yes, we are zebras. Our coats are black and white striped." You're asking the children to answer a question but how they should answer, based on the way the question is framed is a little vague.

This is a cute book for infants and toddlers. It offers the opportunity to work on animal recognition, and names. You can get creative and talk about noises and colors, too. This would be a great addition to the home library.
