This is a super sweet book about a little girl who wants nothing more than for Santa to bring her a gnome for Christmas. But sometimes, things don't happen exactly how we expect...

I thoroughly enjoyed this cute little story! The illustrations were beautifully done, and I love the message that even though we might not always get exactly what we want, we can still make the most of what we have.

Thank you to NetGalley and Clavis Publishing for providing me with a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Such a beautiful little book that would fit perfectly within a little christmas collection of books. We always give our daughter new christmas related books on christmas eve and she then reads them all year. She loved this one and I really enjoyed reading it to her.

First, I love that the adults in this story are totally supportive. (I also have decided I'd like a gnome for Christmas, Santa if you read this)! The illustrations are fun, the story is sweet, and the magic of Santa comes alive.

Santa, Please Bring Me a Gnome is a sweet little Christmas story. I love how Tess’ grandparents play along, building furniture and making a blanket for the gnome that Santa will surely bring. Of course, Santa doesn’t bring a gnome, but he does bring a darling little hamster who needs a home. And the becomes her best friend of course.

The illustrations are sweet and gentle, like the cover. It would be a nice read to book to share with kids. But I’m not a big fan of animals as Christmas presents. It made for a heart-warming ending here, but animals, even hamsters, are a big commitment not something to buy on impulse because your daughter is expecting a gnome on Christmas. But kids won’t look at it that way, they’ll just enjoy the story and maybe ask for a gnome or hamster of their own.

Tess wants a gnome for Christmas… not a toy gnome… nope a real live one at least that’s what her letter to Santa says.
This is a charming picture book that tells the story of a child and her belief in Santa and that he will make her wish come true. With her whole family going along with her request you have to wonder what will happen Christmas morning, will Tess be disappointed or do the family have something planned that will still result in a Happy Christmas.
This would be a good book for parents who have children who love to make really challenging requests from Santa and that the alternatives he comes up with can sometimes be better than what they originally wanted.

Fun story with good illistrations! Great story of how to believe and wish for something, prepare for it, and to have fun. Read it with kids! Would recommend!

Kind of a cute story, I suppose. Very straightforward, thou I'm not certain that the joke will land with kids. More the sort of books that parents will find cute than the kids.

This has got to be the sweetest book I've read in a long time. I love how Santa solved the problem of the gnome. I figured the little girl wasn't getting a gnome, but I didn't expect the ending to be so satisfying. I think this is the best new Christmas book in years. I loved the illustrations, too. They fit the story perfectly.

3 stars.
This is a sweet little Christmas picture book and I really like the cover. It tells the story of a little girl who wants one thing for Christmas, thats it just one thing. A real life gnome. But like in real life, we dont always get what we want, but that doesnt mean that what we get instead is a bad thing. Quite a powerful simple message to send to children. The illustrations are nice and cheerful. Id recommend this for those looking for a Christmas story or a story with a life message.

'Santa, Please Bring Me a Gnome' by An Swerts with illustrations by Eline Lindenhulzen is a fun picture book about a little girl with a specific request for Christmas.

Tess writes a letter to Santa and specifically asks him to bring her a gnome for Christmas. The adults around her seem unfazed by her request and even seem convinced that her request will be granted. Her grandfather makes some little furniture for the new gnome. Her grandmother makes a little blanket. When Christmas finally arrives, will Santa fulfill his promise?

The story brought me many smiles. From the very cute illustrations, to the emphatic belief of the main character, to the knowing adults who support this child. The book is as warm as a cup of cocoa on a Winter evening.

"Dear Santa,: Tess starts. "You don't have to being me any toys this year... the only thing I want is a real gnome."
Tess is a girl after my own heart. This sweet, lovely story had a cite little twist, and is full of Christmas spirit and warm-hearted feelings. I love the illustrations and feel like this would be the sort of picture book that one would read to their children over and over again.

All Tess wants for Christmas is a Gnome. She writes a letter to Santa and her grandfather makes the tiny furniture for her Gnome. When Christmas morning comes, Santa does not bring her a Gnome but maybe he brought her something even better.

Dear Santa tells the story of Tess writing to Santa and asking for a real-life gnome. She wants a gnome that she can do fun things with and can become her friend. She gets everything prepared for the gnome, but come Christmas morning, there is no gnome. Instead, there is a hamster, accompanied by a letter from Santa explaining why there is a hamster instead. This is a really heart-warming tale that shows the creative ways that parents have managed to give their daughter what she wants for Christmas, despite her wish being for something fantastical. The illustrations are lovely and the twist in the end of the tale is great!

No reason to get upset about not getting the gift you wanted for Xmas, one might be just right! Tess wanted a gnome, but received an even better gift from Santa! Sweet story, nice illustrations!

Santa Please Bring Me a Gnome is a picturebook written by An Swerts and illustrated by Eline Lindenhuizen. It is currently scheduled for release on September 1 2017. This year Tess does not want toys, instead she wants a gnome. A real, living gnome to be her friend to take everywhere and share everything with. She gets everything ready for her new friend, including little furniture and bedding. When Christmas comes will she get her wish?

Santa Please Bring Me a Gnome is a sweet and delightful picturebook. I loved the illustrations, they really brought Tess's plans and hopes to life, and I loved how helpful Tess's grandparents were through her endeavor to get ready for Santa to deliver her friend. I think the conclusion, with note from Santa and all, was a perfect answer and one that parents, caregivers, and children will enjoy on different levels. This might be a Christmas book, but I fully expect some will be requesting this book year round.

I really enjoyed this story and it showed real promise as a story for a child who really wanted a specific special gift for Christmas when unfortunately Santa had other ideas, afterall we don't always get what we want so its good to learn at a young age! But I wasn't that much of a fan of that fact that the parents actually got the child a hamster for Christmas - completely the wrong message being sent, pets are for life not just for Christmas and all that.

This is a very sweet Christmas story. It is a great book for children who have their hearts set on a specific Christmas gift, but Santa has other plans. It's very sweetly illustrated. I Highly recommend.

This book I just loved. I love the colors and pictures. Lttle Tess really wants Santa to bring her a livng Gnome. Her granny helps her write the letter to Santa and her grandfather helps her build furniture for the gnome. Christmas morning Tess runs downstairs to find there is not a gnome. However Santa did leave her a letter explaining why not. Her mother reads the letter which says the gnome was leaving his home to come and be with Tess but he ran into Flannel the hamster. Flannel's home has been destroyed and he has no where to go so in his place gnome sends Flannel. Tess is in love she is able to tell Flannel all about her activities and school day.
