I loved this book! I instantly fell in love with Charles and William. They had the perfect blend of gentleman and rake that I have always loved in historical romance. Lily was someone I wanted to see get her HEA. Her past was sad and her present was full of troubles. The touch of jealousy made their relationship feel more honest. I always imagine there would be some of that in a situation like this one, and I really appreciated that it wasn't glossed over or ignored. It didn't take me very long to read this, a few hours maybe, but I didn't feel that the story was too short or rushed. The story line felt complete and flowed very nicely. I enjoyed it so much that I plan on looking for more books by this author as soon as I'm done writing this review.

Two Dukes and a Lady, by Lorna James is an usual historical romance novella.

Charles Ashdown and William Kenwood are both dukes and best friends. Their childhood friend and the only woman they've loved, Lillian Drew, has returned to England as a widow. Since she's in desperate need of financial assistance, Lillian is seeking a husband and both dukes are interested in sharing that role with plenty of issues to sort out. In an unsettling manner, Lillian continues to befriend the ex, who tries to trick her and ruin the relationship.

Even though it's a short book, there's a lot of drama and romantic encounters, as well as a few surprises. It's definitely not a typical regency romance, and I didn't enjoy the story.

Two Dukes and a Lady is geared towards those who prefer reading descriptive and intense historical romances.

This is a steamy M/F/M historical romance set in Victorian England. While it was a unique and sexy ride, it also suffers from some flaws. One of these flaws is that it tries to pack a lot of plot and character development into a short amount of writing. The author does a good job of creating characters that the reader wants to get to know, but there is really no time to connect fully, as the plot moves at a whirlwind pace. The plot covers parts of William, Lillian, and Charles's childhood, Lillian's marriage and its problems, their reunion, and the current problems that develop, and the quick resolution of those problems. I would have enjoyed spending more time in each of those portions. Another problem I had was that it was sometimes hard to believe the way some situations resolved themselves based on the rules of society, but as it is a fantasy, those can be overlooked.

'Two Dukes and a Lady' by Lorna James is the story of William Kenwood, Duke of Tennison, Charles Ashdown, Duke of Densmore and Lillian Drew.
William, Charles and Lillian were childhood friends. When they were much older William and Charles thought the other was interested in her and did not proceed with a relationship thinking the other would do so. But they were surprised when her father up and married her off to an American. Now some years later they both guys know that the other didn't make a move toward Lillian because they didn't want to hurt the other due to their friendship. But now Lillian is back a widow and they both have already decided that Lillian will be theirs.
This was a quick hot read with about 120 pages.
"My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read."

So I had a hard time rating this one. If you are looking for some MMF steamy scenes, this is the book for you. If you are looking for engaging historical romance, maybe look elsewhere.

I received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review. Enjoyed the book. The story of William, Charles and Lily started as children and continued into adulthood. They formed a love triangle that endured all of this time, even though Lily had been married off to an American and then widowed within 4 years. The story is lightly erotic and a good read. The blackmail seems to have been forgotten and could have been a nice addition to the book. In all, I enjoyed the book for a quick read and would recommend it.

Which one of her old friends will come out to be the better man?

This is a steamy historical friends to lovers novella - a quick, fun, sexy read! Lily has two best friends from childhood, William and Charles and she'd have been happy to marry either but couldn't decide between them, nor could they decide who should be the one to propose. So she ended up marrying another man who turned out to be a smuggler, leaving her with a myriad of debts when he died unexpectedly. She needs to marry quickly to pay off these debts, and is once again faced with choosing between her friends but they have a secret - they are quite happy to share her! The results is an m/f/m menage story and between them they figure out a way for them all to get a happy ever after. It's an enjoyable story and I'll be looking for more from this author duo.

Review will be posted at sale sites during release week, and has been posted at Goodreads.

Thanks for Entangled and Netgalley for giving me a copy of an eARC in exchange for a fair review.

So I got my dates a tad mixed up and this going up early. Since my baby will be testing for Kindergarten next Monday it kind of works out!

William and Charles have been best friends forever, Lilly was also a good friend of theirs until she was married and shipped to America without them even knowing it. Five years have passed and both William and Charles are now Dukes, and they have heard that Lily is back.
Lily is penniless and at the mercy of her uncle. On top of it all apparently, her husband owes quite a bit of money and people are hounding her about his debts. She hopes to see her friends William and Charles, but wonders why they just abandoned her all those years ago.

However, once she sees them it is like no time has passed, although they are even more handsome than she remembers and both of them want her. Lily feels guilty because she is unable to choose between the two of them, but she knows she has to get married. So she flips a coin and then proposes to Charles. She is shocked when he agrees and then they broach the subject of her being with both of them.

She will be wife in name to Charles, but William will treat her as his secret wife, and suddenly Lily no longer has to choose at all. But, before she can be happily ever after she starts receiving threatening notes trying to extort money out of her. What has her husband done? What will be exposed? Is their friendship strong enough to survive sharing the only woman they ever loved?

Whew, this book is hot....sizzling... I had a couple of issues with some minor things, but I devoured this it was so good. I couldn't put it down. I enjoyed every minute of this book. I actually wish it had been longer. It just wrapped up too quickly for me.

Charles and William are both dukes and old friends who like to share everything. When their childhood friend Lily returns home to England from America after her husband died things get interesting. This book is a little short on plot but big on sizzle and if MMF is what you like to read about then you will enjoy it.

A modern take on a historical ménage!

Lady Lily Drew returned from the colonies after the murder of her husband that she had been forced by her parents to marry after she was found with Charles Ashdown and William Kenwood without a chaperone. Dukes Charles and William liked to share women and weren’t sure that Lily would agree to marry one of them and be shared by both men. So they decided to have a friend of their help Lily being reintroduced in society during her mourning period.

The author has put so much information in their story with some mystery on who killed her husband and the twist at the end of the story.

I really did not like this book. It was completely unbelievable. It was cheesy and not sweet at the same time.. I don't know how that even happens, but there it is. There really wasn't a storyline at all. Don't get me wrong, I love a good smutty book but this one just didn't work for me. One, the smut wasn't that great and two, I hated all the characters. The two male MCs were assholes and Lily was an idiot. Im sorry. This book just did nothing for me at all.

An entertaining read, challenging the aristocracy.

I couldn't get into this book. I didn't feel like the story had a very good flow to it. The men were best friends one minute and arguing the next.

Two Dukes And A Lady by Lorna James is an entertaining read. This is a fairly short read, a good choice for those with limited time for reading. This is a M/F/M menage book though, so it may not be for everyone. Ms James has delivered a well-written book. The characters are fantastic and lovable. Charles, William and Lilly's story is loaded with drama, humor, suspense and sizzle. I enjoyed this book. There were a few unanswered questions in my mind at the end, but it was still enjoyable. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

I voluntarily read an Advance Reader Copy of this book that I received from NetGalley.

I love historical novels. Throw in some m-f-m connection with some friends-to-lovers, and I’m in. Lorna James's Two Dukes and a Lady is a fun, spicy and all-around entertaining read.

Lily is newly widowed and comes back home to England where she reunites with her two friends, Charles Ashdown and William Kenwood. The tension between all three is alive and kicking, and Lily wonders if the rumors are true. If these two dukes share their women and if so, do they have their eye on her next?

I really enjoyed all of these characters. Lily's spirited enough to attempt to wrangle in these rowdy and daring dukes, while William and Charles were delightfully forward in their own ways. The scenes were pleasantly erotic, but there's also this other external plot going on. A few twists spun the story in a new direction, which added a little more to the story.

I do wish there had been more character development but with the page count there was enough to keep me reading. It was a little hard to suspend my disbelief in some parts too. However, this was still such an enjoyable read. If you’re looking for a historical novel with a good ménage and some hot scenes, you’ll find it here.

3.5 stars!

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley/the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Two Dukes and a Lady is a historical romance novel written by Lorna James. It is somewhat unconventional in that it features two male heroes and one female heroine.

Lily returns to England following the death of her American husband. She reunites with her childhood friends Charles and William, who are both dukes. Lily needs to marry one of them in order to save herself from the debts her husband left behind. Charles and William are amenable to this, but only if Lily is willing to accept that they both love her, and that they are very interested in reestablishing the special relationship they enjoyed when they were younger.

There is a lot to like about this book if you are not put off by the unconventional arrangement the three of them share. The love scenes are very well written, and there certainly are plenty of these scenes.

However, the book does seem to falter with the rest of the plot. From what I understand, the three of them were caught in a compromising position when they were teenagers, but neither of the young aristocrats was compelled to marry Lily. Given the strict Victorian mores, that doesn’t make very much sense. Also, a former lover attempts to drive a wedge between the trio, and some secrets from Lily’s past might ruin everything… but both of these conflicts are resolved rather quickly.

I would recommend Two Dukes and a Lady to fans of this genre/configuration. I think that if this book was longer, the plot could be more fleshed out, and there would be time for conflicts to be resolved. But, like I said, the love scenes are well written, and that does make up the core of the book. I would likely seek out more books from Lorna James in the future.

This storyline felt forced-- I mean, obviously a regency menage isn't realistic, but the conflict felt weird and the resolution was ridiculous.
