For her, it had been real. A love magnetic and all-consuming. The once-in-a-lifetime kind that never dies. No matter how much a person wishes otherwise.

I truly wish I had the power to compel people to read this series by Tee O’Fallon. It’s romantic suspense at its finest, a sexy, edge-of-your-seat series of books that keep you guessing, swooning, angering and falling in love.

Disavowed is book three and, hopefully, not the end. Gray and Cassie have a couple more brothers, after all. But even if it is the end of the series, it’s a great one to go out on. The over-arching story of The Pyramid is back—and this time, it’s Gray’s partner (and Cassie’s former partner), Dom, who is on the line.

Look, I loved Dom. I know I should have been more annoyed with his flip-flopping, with the way he kept Daisy on a wire, but… I empathized with him. I did, at times, want to give him a shake and tell him to get a move on, but on the whole, I was rooting for him and Daisy to get to their HEA. And as for Daisy? I felt bad for her. She was, perhaps, a little too forgiving, but Ms. O’Fallon wrote it in such a way that it felt like just another facet of her personality. To love so deep.

Besides, the action in Disavowed distracted me from any minor concerns I might have had about these characters. There was much going on—and yet it all came together naturally. In fact, even the back and forth, will he/won’t he nature of Dom and Daisy’s relationship felt, to me, like a natural extension of the suspense, the drama, the action.

Ms. O’Fallon is absolutely a gifted author, one who walks the reader through a story that *could* be over-the-top but instead is engaging, captivating, heart-racing and, yes, more than a little bit sexy. I truly do hope that there are more NYPD Blue & Gold books yet to come. And if there’s not, when then, I’ll make do with these ones—and keep trying to encourage y’all to read them too.

Her heart skipped beat after beat, as if it were somersaulting down a steep ravine, not knowing where the emotional fall would take her. Only one thing was certain.
I want to find out.

Four Stars and here’s why:

Tee O’Fallon wrote an engaging story about NYPD detective Dom Carew and Daisy Fowler, a flower shop owner. They’re the BFF’s of two other characters in a previous book. This book can be read as a stand-alone because I haven’t read the previous books in the NYPD Blue and Gold series.

There were elements of this story I thoroughly enjoyed, but then the ending was only okay for me, which is why I gave it four stars instead of five. This is an enemy to lovers story where they had a hook-up a year before, but Dom blows off Daisy because she unlocks his heart after several years of trying to get over losing his girlfriend in an Afghanistan missile attack. Daisy has a lot of trust issues as an orphan and when Dom slips away in the middle of the night after a soul-searching night together, she’s crushed. She finally moves on from her life changing hook-up with Dom and starts to date her employee Jack, who drives a truck for her flower shop, but he really works for The Pyramid, an outfit of former military men gone bad – really bad. Jack is using her shop as a cover. Daisy’s flower shop has the business contract to outfit with flowers a renovated hotel about to be reopened. Jack and his ex-military buddies plan to kill someone who will attend the hotel’s grand opening. Jack is also a former military buddy of Dom’s and what ensues is Dom going under cover to join Jack’s outfit in order to bring it down before the hit at the hotel can take place.

DISAVOWED is a good romantic suspense story, and if you like hella-hot guys in and out of uniform, you will enjoy this story.

Flower shop owner Daisy Fowler has got her biggest and best contract yet. A huge prestigious hotel has had a major refit, and Daisy is doing all the floral arrangements for the opening.
Detective Dominick Carew is setting himself up for a dangerous under cover job. He didn't realize how badly he would feel to make himself "disavowed " . For a committed soldier turned cop to be thought of as a bad guy hurts.
Our main characters have a previous connection. One that has wounded our heroine because our hero is scared of his feelings. Our heroine has wanted nothing more than a loving family since she was a child. Abandonment is a major issue for her.
An action packed romantic suspense that is part if a series, but easily read as a stand alone. Lots of danger and emotion. A story that pulls you in from the first page. I thoroughly enjoyed every page.

Wow, I really am a cover ho, aren't I?  Another hunky chest, big gun (NOT a euphemism, thank you very much!) and just a hint of a face!  Hi, my name is FF and I'm a hot-guy-romantic-suspense addict.  It's even better when the book lives up to the cover, and while I have to admit this one was my least favorite in the series, I still enjoyed the read!

Dom and Daisy met in the 2nd book in the series as the best friends of Gray and Alex respectively, and they had a steamy one night affair before Dom ducked out in the middle of the night.  They have seen each other a couple of times, but Daisy refuses to get involved with him again...okay, that doesn't last, of course!

The threat from the Pyramid syndicate is heating up, and Dom goes undercover to try and take them down.  This involves getting 'fired' from the detective job he has worked so hard for by appearing to be drunk on the job and stealing Oxycontin from the evidence room.  His main target Jack is a former Delta soldier that Dom had served with, and he is stunned to find Jack working as a delivery driver for Daisy's flower shop.  That ramps up the danger, and leads to the ultimate conclusion...but I'll leave that part for you to find out!

While I liked Dom's willingness to do whatever he needs to in order to take down the bad guys (and as a pharmacy professional, I particularly appreciated the Oxycontin reference), he's kind of a jerk. He lost the only other woman he ever cared about in Afghanistan, and he doesn't want to take a chance on love again.  There are definitely things about their relationship that I liked, but it's not as strong (to me) as Gray and Alex or Mike and Cassie's from the previous books.  The smexy parts were hot, but I think I actually liked the suspense storyline more than the romance, which is kind of weird probably!

I would definitely recommend the series for those who haven't read it previously, because Tee's law enforcement background brings a realism that a lot of other books don't have.  Thanks to Netgalley and Entangled for the ARC!

I have mixed feelings about this story there was plenty of action and it really kept the story rolling I just couldn't feel the chemistry between the hero and heroine, he ran so hot and cold and she'd resist for a minute but inevitably give in especially at the end I would have liked to have seen him work for it a little harder not just in his head but by actions, they do after all speak louder than words. Overall this was a good quick read.

Really great book by a author I've not read much by. Great characters and a really great storyline which is very easy to follow. I enjoyed reading this book and will be trying the authors out again In the future

Not for me. I couldn't take to either of the main characters so although the plot was interesting this meant the romance just didn't work for me.

There is alot to like about this book and there is a lot to dislike. I really wanted to give 4 stars but there was so much inner monologue it became easy to just ignore or move past quickly. Most of the inner monologue didn't enhance the story to really add more to the characters that Tee O'Fallon created.
Daisy can be annoying for her pining for a man she hates but loves. Dom lost this true love several years before and his past is keeping him from moving forward the same second chance love story I have read many times over.
While the characters are well developed and the author kept true to the characters she created they were annoying at the best of time.
The action/suspense is what saves this book. She is able to bring action back scenes that will keep readers wanting more but the romance readers will move over quickly finding this read fast and empty.
Thank you to Netgalley for the advance copy

**I received a copy of Disavowed from Entangled Publishing and Net Galley in exchange for a voluntary and honest review**

Disavowed is the third book in Tee O'Fallon's NYPD Blue & Gold series and having read the first two, I guess that I had high hopes this one would be as good as the previous books. But sadly it wasn't to be and it just dragged in the middle with Dom not being able to be faithful to Daisy was the hardest to accept at for me. But I stuck with it and was rewarded with a exciting ending.

NYPD detective Dom Carew had a one night stand with Daisy and then abruptly disappeared from her life until he finds out that the case he's working ties in with Daisy and her flower shop. He still has memories of losing his girlfriend in Afghanistan in a missile attack but to just not leave a note was somehow wrong in my book. Then he's jealous that another man is showing interest in her even though he's supposed to be watching Jack, he once again leaves Daisy hanging on wondering what happened at the end of the story.

Daisy has a successful flower shop that has a contract with the NY police commissioner but little does she know that the person whom she hires to delivery is part of the plot to attack and kill at the event . When Dom shows up wanting to help out she reluctantly hires him, hoping to not lose her heart again to him again. When she's drugged and kidnapped they know that Dom will come to her rescue but will everyone survive? Will Daisy and Dom work things out and become a couple? I really liked the previous books but for this one wasn't the same.

Holy smokes what a good hot romance. I liked the plot. Ms. O'Fallon has written a solid hot romance.

I have mixed feelings about this book. As much as I enjoyed the first two in this series, this one, for me, was just ok.
The plot nor the main characters got me engaged in the storyline.
Dom and Daisy seemed at times attracted to each other, but it was a hot and cold relationship.
Possibly the reason for my previous comment.
I felt too that the plot could have been more developed so the reader would be more involved in the storyline.
All that said, I still love Ms O’Fallon’s books, and though it’s a 3.5 rating for me, knowing she is a talented author, I will give it a 4 rating.
I was gifted this book by Netgalley and the publisher. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

This is my first Tee O’Fallon read but finding myself cringing and grimacing for most of the book doesn’t bode too well. There are times when I can sort of ‘ignore’ the protagonists and concentrate fully on the suspense and there are others when characters do trump everything else. And when a book—or rather, a main character—annoys you in the first chapter, that just feels like an ominous start.

For ‘Disavowed’, the latter held true and I found it difficult to get past the idiocy of the male protagonist enough to even enjoy the suspense. My hopes for it getting better waned when it appeared that Dom Carew spoilt it all from the beginning and the journey then on was a torture, at least when it came to the development of the relationship he and Daisy never really had.

I couldn’t get past the pure drivel that Dom kept spouting, let alone feel any sympathy for a ‘womanising asshole’ who, from the very beginning who uses women and leaves them in the middle of the night because of his own self-piteous reasoning that he was no good for anyone after his first and only love died in Afghanistan 15 long years ago.

Oh, boo hoo.

And of course Daisy stayed celibate in this one year and Dom continued going through women, though in his own words, he’d apparently never stopped thinking about her and behaving like he owned her. Adding to the hypocritical attitude is some jealous territorial behaviour that goes into overdrive when Daisy inadvertently gets involved in a case that he’s working undercover. That he’d put Daisy in an untenable position by using the excuse of work and his own personal heartbreak to keep her away yet taking every advantage of their sexual chemistry felt beyond unforgivable because she truly deserved better than his cavemannish ways.

Daisy on the other hand, pined a little too much. Though I understood her need to want some belonging, I found myself wishing she’d moved on from Dom as thoroughly as she could have, then flaunting it in his face as much as he used up every excuse in the book to remain an emotional coward. And why, oh why, did Daisy have to justify Dom’s behaviour when fifteen years surely must have been long enough even for her to stop making those same excuses for him?

Unfortunately, ‘Disavowed’ frustrated me to the point where I couldn’t read on. It’s clearly not the book for me in this case, particularly when I found myself way too annoyed to enjoy anything properly.

Daisy never believed the bad things being said about Dom. Even though he hurt her badly, she always saw the best in him. Daisy is the one that got away from Dom. Granted he let her get away, but he didn't forget her. A year later and she's unwillingly put in harm's way. Dom vows to keep her safe and tries his best not to let his heart get in the way.
Daisy is the sweetest most forgiving person. I would have made him beg just a little bit more. And enjoyed it too.

Dom is an alpha male and quite cocky and full of himself, “nope.” He shook his head, grinning back. “Trust me, you had my full attention while I was ravaging you against the wall.” I loved this book, I fell in love with Dom right from page one.
