One Night Stand Bride by Kat Cantrell is part of her In Name Only trilogy, and features a marriage of convenience between two characters who have a wild night in Vegas, with repercussions that follow them home.

When Hendrix Harris and Rosalind Carpenter spend a memorable night together, things get a little out of hand, and their hot tub foray becomes paparazzi fodder. With Hendrix’s mother running for Governor, and Roz coming from a high society family, they’ve been in each other’s social circles for years but hadn’t taken the plunge to anything more. Neither of them regrets what happened in Vegas, but they hadn’t planned a repeat either. Still, to repair their reputations for the sake of their families, they agree to a limited time marriage of convenience.

The weeks leading up to their wedding day include a promise on playboy Hendrix’s part to stay celibate. (Truth be told he’s not interested in anyone else anyway, though he’d have been happy to spend another night or two with Roz). But once he gets his bride in his arms? All bets are off. Still a marriage for political and personal gain isn’t exactly a love match. Will the time they spend getting to know each other and rekindling their passion make them reconsider an expiry date on their marriage?

I really enjoyed the first story in this trilogy (Best Friend Bride with Jonas and Viv) and was looking forward to reading Hendrix’s story too! Hendrix, Jonas, and Warren are three best friends who’ve made a pact not to fall in love but Jonas has already fought the game of love and lost. Hendrix is torn between loyalty to his friends, and his growing feelings for Roz. They had such a fun and sexy night together that he could admit to himself he was a bit crushed when she didn’t want a repeat. But they are in a position to help each other and since they are both responsible for the scandal in the society pages they both feel a responsibility to fix it.

The sex scenes are pretty steamy, but well balanced with the overall story. Rosalind has some of her own fears to conquer and has taken on a career that pushes her to face them. Hendrix supports and encourages her, and becomes a buffer between her and her demanding father. I loved seeing this protective side of Hendrix, and how he comes to really care for Rosalind (and vice versa). The story moves at a swift pace and was hard to put down! They get a lovely happy ending, and I am ready for Warren’s book next!

I was so looking forward to Hendrix's story and was not disappointed! Hendrix & Roz were a super couple. I loved Roz's spunk and Hendrix was just plain yummy! I want me a Hendrix!

A temporary marriage might not be all that temporary when true feelings start to fly and they start to actually like who they are together! A second book in the In Name Only series leads us on a fun ride of finding love when you're not even looking for it! A quick and easy read with a fun cast.

Compromising photos lead Hendrix Harris to ask his one night stand to extend their dalliance into a temporary marriage of convenience so the political aspirations in his family will not be affected.

Rosalind Carpenter can't pretend she wasn't majorly drawn to Hendrix during their night together, but she's decided it's time to clean up her questional reputation, and puts her foot down about giving in to more sex until after the marriage is official. Will they be able to resist each other?

There have only been a few authors that I would follow religiously. I usually just read a book based on the synopsis or whatever catches my fancy -- the cover, the title, etc. But recently, I noticed that most of the books I have purchased were by Kat Cantrell. I read Best Friend Bride and I was so pleased to find out that it was the first of three books. I was really looking forward to finding out what Hendrix's story was and I was not disappointed. There were no unnecessary scenes in the book. I like how I am dropped in the middle of everything right from the beginning. There is action from the get go. I could relate with the characters And even though this was part of a trilogy, I wasn't burdened with hearing the story of the other couple too much. There was just enough information about them to keep me interested but not bore me. Looking forward to Warren's story. More power to Ms. Cantrell.

Sweet & sexy! Hendrix and Roz were in it for one reason only: to tame the paparazzi scandal. But when they really got together and started to feel genuine caring? All bets were off! Great read from Kat Cantrell.

really liked it

On the premise you enjoy this type of read. Then this would be a book to buy. Rather one night or a lifetime the characters keep you smiling. The plot and the background it is written in was interesting. I found the book somewhat uninteresting for the story line, however!!!!!!!! THAT is only because it is not the type I enjoy. So being fair I reread the book with an eye to what is this really? I found it was a truly engaging story that made me smile at times, and shake my head at others. So I can only say it is a good read enjoy! I was given this book in return for an honest review. Anna Swedenmom

When you find that person that makes you smile but also gives you that sexual charge without even touching them you can’t wait to find out it is.
That’s exactly the way it was for (Roz) Rosalind Carpenter who was in Vegas with a friend for one last no rules, all out, one-night stand rendezvous. Before she settles down and becomes the respectable daughter her billionaire father has always wanted. You see it had just been her and her dad since she was eight when her mom died of cancer.
While she was out she sees one of the movers and shakers of her hometown in North Carolina, in the flesh, Hendrix Harris. The sexy handsome millionaire tobacco Bachelor. He is the one man who you never see photographed with the same woman twice because he is known for only doing one-night stands. He is perfect for her needs.
He has been raised by a single mother Helene who was seventeen when she had him. No father in the picture. It didn’t stop Helene from getting the tobacco company that was in the family along with her brother and turning it into a thriving business. Now, Hendrix is running it alone since his mother is running for the next governor of North Carolina.
So, there at the bar seeing Hendrix and she had always run in the same circles but never together she thought he would be perfect for her send off to boredom. From what she heard he was great in the sack so she would have great memories but he wouldn’t get attached. Just what she needed for the night.
Two weeks go by and Hendrix shows up on her doorstep. She doesn’t let him in she guards the door and says, “You don’t follow directions very well.” Meaning their agreement was only for one night and one night only. So basically, what is he doing there? She doesn’t let on that she knows why he’s there. The picture seen around the world of them bare ass naked in a hot tub, of course, has made their rounds in her circles too and her father is not happy either.
He tells her basically he has come to make her a proposition for her, care of his mother. She says so your mommy sent you. Let the haggling begin. What will convince Roz to say, yes? Neither wants marriage so what are the risk factors for them to say yes for a certain time frame? You will have to read and find out. I give this: 5 stars. Provided by netgalley.com.
