At first I was like oh no, its one of those books where you know what is going to happen in this book.
But, I fell in LOVE with book and could not put it down.
There was so many good laughs and crazy adventures that I could not put it down.

Macey is your typical nerd, she is top of her high school class, taken honors and AP classes.
And a girl no guy in school will date. But not for the reasons you would think.
She is also Best Friends with one of the most popular guys in schools. The Lead singer in a rock group, a guy every girl wants a chance to be with and with his killer good looks and charm. He is every girls dream guy, but he cant be held down, he is know as the bad boy. And Macey, his Best friends is the one that always steps up to the plate to let his newest fling down.

After, being told she is not a high school date material she sets out on a mission to get a prom date. With every guy in school thinking she is Cam's Girl she has no luck at getting guys to notice her.
Then things change and she ends up having her first kiss with someone she would never think, getting invited on a date only to get in to a van full of sweaty boys. With all the twist and turns she decided to give up on her prom quest.
And then out of the blue someone confuses their love to her and she is left in shock.

This is most defiantly a HEA!

However I do hope they add a second epilogue or a second book ;)

I gave this book one star. I went into this expecting a cute fluffy romance, a light read. Instead a got something rage inducing laden with misogyny. It was probably the worst book I read this year it made me so angry.

A book about a bookworm, what’s not to love? Well, a lot of things. I was really liking the protagonist, up until we found out about her list and she started saying things all these misogynistic things, like no, this is the twenty first century, girls can protect themselves. It bothered me more that she said this to her guy friends who were like “No, that’s stupid”. I’m a bit shocked by this.

The entire premise of this book was so interesting and cute, but the way it actually played out didn’t live up. The same girl who said “… it’s their [men’s] job to protect women” also had the thought “why does everyone think I was this helpless little zebra just waiting to be turned into a lions dinner?”

This book was also slightly offensive, but it didn’t know it was being offensive, that’s what made it worse. It made this 144 page book feel more like 500 pages.

The protagonist just got worse as the story went on, I wanted to shake her so hard because she was just so stupid. She would state a set of standards and then break those standards. Also, she was a Mary Sue, there was “nothing” wrong with her, and all the guys she “dated” became stalkers near the end because they loved her so much. It was sickening to read.

I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone. Usually I try to have something nice to say, but I have nothing this time.

overalls this book was good. I was slightly disappointed because it didn't meet the expectations I had for it, which were based of the synopsis. However it was still really cute. We have our main character is just as bookishly as the rest of us, which was nice and relatable and an adorable romance . Overall a cute contemporary book.

Here's what happened here: I'm a bibliophile, I love YA books and I'm a sucker for romance. In short, I am like Macey but older without a male best friend.

So I thought this would be a fun, quick read to distract my brain from the stress train. And it kind of was. But either I powered through it too quickly or I just didn't quite connect with the book.

The storyline is quite fun - Macey is trying everything she learned from reading romance novels in order to find a boyfriend and a date for prom. It's quite fun to read through her list of failures because she mostly takes them in stride. But then I feel like the ending needed about 50 more pages. because yes it is predictable as nobody's business, that relationship 180º should have had some better development instead of fast-forward shots like at the end of a rom-com.

I'd compare this to a teen Bridget-Jones-meets-Something-Borrowed, I think, but I expected more.

A promising plot but was poorly executed. The characters are sooo labeled, I find it hard to believed if they really are what the Heroine says they are. I found a bit sexism issues and I didn't like how LGBT was represented. The two stars are entirely for the cover and promising plot.

Her Book Boyfriend was all I wanted it to be. I related heavily to Macey and her best friend. She feels like she's not worthy of love since she's never had a boyfriend and wants to check the important high school "boxes". That was totally me in High School and Macey story was nice to know I wasn't alone. Her relationship with Cam was fun to read although it was hard to like Cam as much as Macey does. All in all this book was the perfect dose of cute and romantic!

I have very mixed feelings on this one. It started out terrible and ridiculous before turning into something sweet and heartwarming in the last quarter. It just hurt to get there.

On paper, this book sounded like it might be something different from the other contemporary cookie-cutter novels out there that I tend to pick up. Once I started reading, I was highly disappointed.

Macey is not a character I wanted to root for. As someone who got through high school just fine without a boyfriend, it was almost insulting to read about her drive to not leave high school without one, no matter what it takes. The list she compiles is sexist at best and demeaning and vapid, even though her execution isn't necessarily in that vein. But good grief, let me try and be a lesbian for a minute? Didn't work? Well then, next let me go out and buy a box of condoms for whatever guy strikes my eye next. Her best friend f**kboy Cam was often more likeable than she was, even if I deplored his behaviour and the way their relationship went at times.

The world this story is set in just irked me. From what I got, it's somewhere in the States and every single person is rich, good-looking and smart. Every boy Macey tries to make her boyfriend blends together and towards the end I had no idea which one had been involved in each step of her list. The author tries to throw in some character conflict, but it mostly fell flat for me. Likewise, the promposal part was really unbelievable and out of left field. Did they feel bad for her? Guilty? Did they all actually like her, even the gay dude? Like, good for you, Macey, but why is this happening?

The romance that does eventually develops is sweet and aw-inducing, even if it was a little quick to accept. Macey and Cam's friendship, while messed up and lacking respect in the fact she has to do all his break-ups for him, was genuine and their banter and love for each other was clear. As a whole, the story was not a predictable one, which I greatly appreciated. The author introduced several characters and little twists and turns that kept it interesting. It started off poorly but ending on a very nice note, so I give it 2.5/5

Macey is super smart or a ‘hot nerd’ (her words not mine) who happens to be best friend with Cam the rocker bad boy but she’s sick of only being known as ‘Cam’s friend’. She wants to find the boy of her dreams to take her to prom using all the tropes from romance fiction.
This novella is not going to be for everyone. It’s cliché after cliché after cliché but I have to say I enjoyed it. It’s a sweet and a little sappy and frankly I’ve been reading quite a few dark crime thrillers lately it came as a nice break.
If I’m being honest though, the plot was a little sloppy and rushed in places and I found some of the characters a bit redundant like the foreign exchange student Wen Li who doesn’t talk for most of the book. Also I would have liked the main character to have been a little more original, to sort of stand out from all the rest of the cliches.
I know this is just one of a series and I wonder what the author is going to do next.

Definitely one I would recommend, never read the author before but, am glad I did. Loved it!

For about two chapters i though the main character was a male and gay because he was attracted to boys. I liked how cute the book was, gave you school-like feels but the writing style didn't really sit well with me and i found it really hard to finish it, Maybe romance/ya readers who like light books would like.

Disclaimer: I received an e-ARC of this book. I chose to review it and this in no way impacts my opinion of it.

The book starts off with Mace deciding she cannot go to college having never had a date before, let alone a boyfriend. How many 18 year olds haven’t even had their first kiss? As a lover of romance novels, Mace decides her best bet is to use popular love tropes from her favourite authors novels. With a bet in place, either Mace needs to find a boyfriend before prom or she’ll have to go to prom with her best friend, Cam.

When I read the synopsis of this novel, I knew that it would probably be predictable but also adorable. It did not let me down. Her Book Boyfriend was an adorable novel with an ending I could see coming a mile away but it was still a fun read. I found the idea of using common love tropes from novels to land a boyfriend to be an interesting one and couldn’t wait to see how it progressed.

I added this novel to my kobo and instantly began reading it and read it until I finished the novel in one day. I found Her Book Boyfriend to be an easy, fast read and I read it until I finished it in one day.

I enjoyed the overall story and really liked the relationship between Cam and Macey. They had such a fun relationship that I love to see between a guy and a girl. I also found the characters enjoyable to read about.

I did find the end of the novel to be too perfect I’ll say and I found that to be a little unrealistic. I wish it was a bit more realistic and less everyone gets exactly what they want. On that note, I will say that this novel was a good read and many romance fans will enjoy it.

I gave this book a shot, but unfortunately I just don't think it's for me. I couldn't get into it, and I didn't care at all about any of the characters or the plot. I don't wish to waste my time on books I can't see myself enjoying. There wasn't anything outrageously bad about it. I am just sick of reading books I only feel meh about.

I loved this book! Very entertaining. It was a refreshing spin on the geek and jock romance. Macey wasn’t meek and she wasn’t bullied. She stood up for herself and didn’t take crap from her jock guy friend, Cam. It seemed like a role reversal in the best way.

Cam was super sleazy when it came to girls. A fact that was made pretty clear early on. It didn’t bother me as much as I expected it would. I don’t know why, maybe it was because he was such a good guy to Macey. At any rate, I enjoyed their chemistry and easy dialogue. Actually, I floved their dialogue. It was fantastic.

Macey’s headstrong, smart and funny. Cam is smart, horny and holds some things close to his chest which I realized early on. It made him vulnerable and mysterious, two things I find attractive in a male MC. You should really just go read the book. I will be looking forward to more by this author.

Her Book Boyfriend was a fun YA read that was relatively quick too (I think I read this over 2 sittings). The story centres around Macey and her best friend Cam. Macey is 18 (Rather immature - I'll go into that later) and never been kissed or had a date. Prom is approaching and she wants it to be perfect and what better way that with a boyfriend just like the ones she reads in her books by her side. Macey is smart and studies her favourite authors books as who else would know better than how to land that perfect man, right? A list is formed and she sets off on a hilarious journey. I'd like to say Cam her best friend and man whore helps with this journey, but that would be giving away things and I don't do spoilers.

As with a few of these YA books where we have a SEVERE case of naivety with the main character I struggle a little. When you have a best friend (Doesn't matter if it is male or female) who is a bit of a 'go getter' in the sexual department I feel it would be hard to be as naive as some characters can get. At times Macey came across as far more immature than she was which kind of made this feel more unrealistic. Don't get me wrong the situations were funny, amusing and I certainly felt that teen angst, but I did wonder how Macey could be so smart but no so street smart - you get me?

Still like I said Macey aside this was a funny book and it was sweet too. I love YA reads like this as they give you the story without the extra stuff a NA book does. Does Macey get her boyfriend? Is there that HEA? Will Cam meet you BBF requirements? Well I think you'll have to read this one and see. Either way I felt Her Book Boyfriend is worth a read if you like a YA romance and deserves its 3.5 stars.

I received a copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for a review.
The book is a light-hearted romance novel which focuses on Mace who is on a quest to find a boyfriend for prom. Mace comes up with a list of ways that all the characters in her favourite books find love and sets out to create the same situations. Through-out her mission Mace makes a deal with her male best friend Cam that if she doesn’t have a boyfriend by prom they will go together. The story in this book is simple and cute it was an easy read and at times a little bit boring. The characters lacked depth and it seemed that there were some irrelevant characters who brought nothing to the story. The writing was a little bit monotone in my opinion and there were a few rather pointless parts to it. Overall the story had some potential but they maybe it didn’t need as many irrelevant characters and pointless things happening.

Her Book Boyfriend is K.R. Grace’s latest release and is a delightfully charming contemporary romance that is full of entertaining moments, endearing romance and sweet moments of true friendship.

Macey Greere and Camden Davis have been best friends since they were toddlers. Cam is the rock-star player who runs through a slew of girls and Macey is the diligent best friend who lets them down when he undoubtedly tires of them. High school graduation is nearing and Macey wants to experience a bit of romance herself, so she sets out to follow all the tropes found in her favourite romance novels in an effort to find love. Cam is adamant that she won’t land a boyfriend that way and so a bet ensues. If Macey can’t find love using the steps in her novels, she’ll accompany him to prom. Macey is determined to secure herself a guy, and prove Cam wrong in the process, but as things don’t quite go as plan, will Macey admit defeat? Or is she about to find that the perfect boyfriend was closer than she thought the whole time?

From beginning to end, I found Her Book Boyfriend to be a really sweet and easy to read novel. Though undoubtedly predictable, Her Book Boyfriend manages to be a quick, highly entertaining YA that charms you with its quirky characters and charming friendships. Featuring a best-friends romance, Her Book Boyfriend unfolds through Macey’s POV and will appeal to book lovers who have always wondered if finding love is as simple as they make it sound in books.

Macey was an intelligent, sharp individual who embraced her intellect and was a lover of books; something that allowed me to emphasise with her as a fellow book lover myself. Personally I think Macey’s approach to landing a boyfriend was somewhat superficial and unnecessary, but I highly enjoyed watching her stumble along with each encounter as she attempted to find someone she wanted to be with.

It really was a case of seeing what was before your eyes all along with Her Book Boyfriend. I think it was safe to say heading into the novel it’s almost guaranteed that Mace and Cam will end up together by the end of the story, but I was surprised to see how long it took for them to actually cross over to more than friends. Even though it’s obvious there’s something there, the fact it took until the final few chapters for something to really occur almost made the ending feel too rushed in my eyes.

That being said, I really did enjoy this story. Macey and Camden had a great bunch of friends and I loved that the author includes so much family interactions with their families as well. Overall, Her Book Boyfriend was a fun and flirty read that was highly addictive and every enjoyable reading!

It was ok.

Cam and Macey are best friends, so I was expecting a fun friends-to lovers book. It is kinda that but it took too long for them to get there. They finally get together at around the 75% mark, and to be honest I didn’t feel the love. Macey for most of the book is interested in other things other than Cam, so when they do get together I felt it wasn’t entirely believable.

Macey got on my nerves at times, with her lists and always finding something wrong with the guys she dated. I am a picky person but Macey was too much. Cam, on the other hand was a little better and I did like him. Their friendship was beautiful and I really enjoyed their interactions. Sometimes I wished they had stayed best friends.

Overall this was a quick, entertaining read but I was expecting more.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book
I could not help but request to read this because yes of course I have fallen for a book
boyfriend (almost in each book I read LOL)
Macey is in high school she is very studious, headed to be the Valedictorian and is looking for
a boyfriend for her high school prom date, When she decides to make a list following advice
she picked up from her favorite author's books, Cam her best friend is a player, He is always with
a different girl and he always turns to Macey to break up with his latest girl friend. He makes a deal
with Macey if she cant find a boyfriend using her "List" then she has to go to prom with him
I LOVED that they have been best friends since they were little kids, some of the cute memories they
shared like when she "showed him hers' and he showed her his lol.(They were like 4 or 5)
The ONLY problem I had with the book was the way it ended, yes they have their HEA (or do they)
will there be a next book when they leave to go to college or do they go to college I know Cam and his band
do get a record deal, but they both did get accepted.................
