*Received ARC from NetGalley for Honest Review* Thank you Publisher & Author I Give this Book 2 Stars Oh Bugger... *head hitting desk repeatedly* The Synopsis makes the book sound great, by upon reading this book, it's paced HORRIBLY. Fast paced in the areas you want to read or just jumps to the next day or days. & Slow paced in quite boring, long drawn out areas that leave you yawning and looking to the ceiling in frustration and/or have the near desperate temptation to close the book. Honestly I can't understand these characters, you got Ari who kidnaps Daphne (yep, there even a Scooby Doo reference in the book) to have her help Benjy, who can't speak from a blow to the head. Daphne is supposedly the BEST in her 'line of work' and yet you don't see her do a damn thing and in the end she wasn't needed...SERIOUSLY. ****So what was the whole Clusterforkin point?!**** The fact that she miraculously FRIENDS everyone at the secure 'fortress', Ari took (Kidnaps) her too within a short amount of time (less then a few days), was mind boggling also to the fact she wants to live with them too... This Book the All the Male Characters act like...Cavemen, the whole slap the butt and throw over the shoulders, several times through the book. (Typically I DON'T MIND that at all, but in this book it just degrades the writing and makes it epic all amateurish, it's as if Dominant Strong Male Characters act like prehistoric men when women are around....) I mean the chicks a virgin, yet had a FIANCÉ (who ends up stealing clients money and takes off with his lover) who she never fooled around with by the sounds of it nor slept with be that SEX or just plain nap in the same bed...I mean never napped with a GUY ever... Sex/Intimate scenes: Seemed repeated, Mediocre at best and some areas comically boring, fast or long drawn out and leaving me only to roll my eyes... for example complete virgin 1 day and she's a master at DP the very next day... Also (doesn't usually bother me since it's in a BOOK) but no protection either... (I typically love sex scenes and more the merrier... but when you read this book and see how 'fast' these people bond, it's just ridiculous...) Writing style: 0. Some Areas were dropped off, like... why couldn't you continue with this scene? 0. The convos seemed awkward or just drawn out way way to much or forced 0. Weird fillers 0. Some places were left like you should ALREADY know what's going on... yet you have no bloody clue.... (ex. The sudden FBI dude) 0. Don't think I didn't catch the Guys Names: Ari, Benjy, Cal, Darwin, Ed.... (the alphabet song was playing in my head when I listed them off too...) Would I read more from this author? No. |

Finding yourself in a remote log cabin with not one but two big, handsome men, who wouldn't want to stay? Ari and Benjy, along with three other men, escaped a testing lab where they were essentially lab rats given bionic powers. Following the process Benjy stopped talking...enter Daphne. Daphne has always been a loner, since she advanced two year ahead at school. Finding out her fiancé didn't really love her and left her after stealing all his clients money, she vowed never to get attached again. The story is interesting although the bionic powers took some getting used too. I did feel that there could have been more made of the two different plot points, her fiancé and the lab people. Everything just seemed to come to a rushed end. I won't deny though that the sex scenes are hot. If you enjoy a bit of menage then you will definitely like this. This book is the fourth in this series which had all previously been published under another name. This book can be enjoyed as a standalone and although we are introduced to the characters from the previous books it does not impact heavily on this story. Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC |

I was grateful to receive a free copy of Double Dose in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoy reading menage stories, but I jus couldn't get engaged in this story. Everything about it from the kidnapping, to the compound with bunkers, to dangerous lab people, and finally the fraudster ex fiance. This story was all over the place. At first Daphne was kidnapped to help Benji talk. I didn't realize Benji was an adult. This whole plot died when Benji miraculously to talked. Another kicker was the author would intermittently use first initials. I found this rather strange. Overall, the writing was good, but the story was a little to strange. |
Fast-paced and very entertaining read. Brilliant merge of MFM erotica with supernatural suspense. I’m definitely looking forward to some more work from this author. |
I received this book in exchange for an honest review. 3.5 stars I really liked the storyline, and the characters were engaging. There was some hotness in there too, which I enjoyed. However, there were some things that bothered me about this book. The repetition of being told Daphne was kidnapped laboured the point too much, along with the way she just accepted the fact she had been taken, her reaction didn’t feel realistic. For me, I would have liked to have seen more of a fight from her. This is a new author to me, and I did like her writing style, so I will read another book by her. |
Wow...this book is all sorts of HOT!!!! That said, there is such an incredible story behind the two guys and those who are with them. I loved the incredible friendship between everyone and how while they hated what Ari did that they all welcomed Daphne. I loved how protective Ari was of everyone, not just Benji but of everyone at the lodge. I thought the only thing missing from this story was something between Benji and Ari. I expected them to be more "involved" with each other in some of the scenes especially given how close they were to each other. I think it would have solidified the three a little more. Hoping for another book in this series...what about all the others? Are there others like them? |
Enjoyed the book and the storyline, was a good read, not just pages and pages of hot sex, although there was that:-) |
Thought it was first book by this author until I realized she's also Katie Ruggle Fab story with a great mix of humour, sexyness, and great characters. Struggling to find ménage stories I like at the moment, but this one was great. Just wished that Daphne's job had been a little more in the page. That's the whole reason they kidnapped her, but in the end she only mentions it in passing. Liked that this is the last book as it meant I got the resolution for everyone😎 Read in one sitting |

Omg this is one hot book. It's scorching, panty melting hot....you won't be able to put it down, leaving you at the end panting for more by this author. Fans face ! Do not attempt to read in public it's that hot lol. To say that the three main characters have smoking hot chemistry is a understatement. Definitely a page turner with explosive sexy scenes, what more could you ask for 😊 Would recommend |

This is the first book I have read by Katie Allen but I have to say I would look for more from this author. Based on the other couples already formed in this story, I'm assuming there are other books in this series but this could possibly be the conclusion of the series. Although the author has definitely left open the possibility for future spinoffs. Either way, this book can be read as a stand alone. This book quickly drew me in with a plot revolving around enhanced super soldiers reminiscent of Rebecca Zanetti's Sin Brother series or even Christine Feehan. These enhanced soldiers are on the run from their "creators" that are trying to recapture them. In this instance Ari has kidnapped Daphne so that she can help Benjy regain speech. While the others in the group condemn his actions, Daphne quickly comes to realize just what is at stake for the group if they are discovered and voluntarily stays with them. Of course that might also have to do with her growing attraction to both Ari and Benji! I really enjoyed this menage romance that was also very funny at times. Mealtimes always made for some humorous lines. I will say towards the end the action seemed a bit rushed but overall it was still a good story. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novel. |

I liked the suspense of this romance. It was a believeable story and could be a series. I would read more of this author. |
I've enjoyed the other books in the series, but I think Ari and Benjy might be my two favorite guys of the group. What can I say? I like 'em big and quiet and also a little snarly. Benjy had the big and quiet part covered and Ari had the big and snarly part down. Basically, the two of them worked for me. I have to say, after her initial resistance and fear over being kidnapped, Daphne was pretty accommodating to her two guys. She put up with Ari tossing her over his shoulder and Benjy and Ari's need to get snuggly when they slept. She accepted that things were a little more complicated than they originally seemed with only minimal explanations. She threw herself all in to helping the group and she did it with only a few attempts at maiming by fork. (which will make sense once you read the book, I SWAER!) While that could have been disconcerting, I kinda liked how she sort of fell into a relationship with them without much drama. I mean, there was drama, but it wasn't over the top, angsty whining. It was sort of sweet and explosive all at the same time. While this book closes out the guys' story arc, I'm wondering if there's more to be told. The idea that there could potentially be more men like them out there was floated and it got me thinking. If any of them are AT ALL like Benjy and Ari (FINE, and the other guys), I'm IN! |
