A poignant and heart-wrenching Medical Romance that will hold readers everywhere in thrall with its beguiling blend of believable pathos, searing emotional intensity and compelling drama, A Family Made at Christmas is the latest keeper by award-winning author Scarlet Wilson.

Nobody knows better than physiotherapist April Henderson that life simply isn’t fair. April had held her beloved twin sister Mallory in her arms while she passed away from a debilitating disease and with the odds stacked against her, April wonders whether her genes might have also mapped out a similar future for her. With all this on her plate, not to mention coping with the pain of losing her twin, April gets by by keeping herself to herself and avoiding romantic relationships at all cost. After all, what man is going to want to take a risk on someone like her, a woman whose future is so uncertain? Staying single and keeping her heart firmly under lock and key is the only sensible solution, but April hadn’t counted on gorgeous army doctor Riley O’Callaghan – a man who has trouble written all over him…

Riley cannot help but be intrigued by shy, quiet and gorgeous physiotherapist April. Why does she seem so intent on keeping everyone at arm’s length? Riley can sense that she is not as immune to his charms as she makes out to be, but with his time at the hospital they are both working at coming to an end and a posting to Sierra Leone to prepare for, he does not seem to have much time to investigate further – until the rug is well and truly pulled out from under his feet when he learns that an old fling has died in a tragic accident and that she had kept their son a secret from him! Riley is now the only family five year old Finn has got and he does not know the first thing about being a father! But luckily for him, kind-hearted April is around determined to make the transition from bachelor to single father as smooth as possible.

However, what April hadn’t counted on was on losing her heart to Riley and to his adorable son! But with her health a ticking time bomb, she knows that she cannot allow herself to hope that she can ever form part of this ready-made family…or can she?

April is the best thing that’s ever happened to Riley and he is not about to let her slip through his fingers. Can he convince her to take a chance on him and Finn and give their love a try? Or is April destined to spend the rest of her life being held hostage by her own worries and fears and losing the only man she has ever loved in the process?

A Family Made at Christmas is a book that aims for the heart and does not miss! A surefire tearjerker that will move readers everywhere that is sensitively written, wonderfully told and hard to put down, A Family Made at Christmas is a story of hope, renewal, healing and courage that I simply couldn’t bear to stop reading.

Scarlet Wilson is a master storyteller who makes her readers feel every single emotion her characters go through and they are sure to cheer on strong and resilient April and charismatic and handsome Riley on to the happy ending they so richly deserve!

A fantastic read by a wonderful writer, A Family Made at Christmas is another first-rate romance from Scarlet Wilson’s incredibly talented pen!

April is a physiotherapist knowing that her life-altering surgery date maybe very soon. Keeping this secret is tough enough but she can't seem to stay away from the attraction Doctor Riley and his new found son. Both seem to need her but she finds it tough to keep that distance before anyone gets too close.

I enjoyed this book it was such a sweet romance. It was tough seeing Aprils POV and seeing how she dealt with her sisters death and knowing that she might have the gene that might one day take her down. Until then shes been trying to keep her distance and watching her struggle made her such a real character and I really liked that. I also loved how she was loving towards Riley and his son even when she felt in her heart she shouldn't. If you like a tough but sweet and clean romance then this book is for you. Perfect for the holiday time. For me it was a pretty quick read I was able to finish this book in under three hours so if your pressed for time during this upcoming holiday then I recommend you check out this book.

April is dealing with plenty of issues this Christmas. One of which has been ignoring Army Doc Riley, who is due to ship back out. Riley can't wait to take on his next assignment, but is suddenly detained by shocking news. April finds herself tangled up with Riley in ways that she could not imagine as they all rediscover the magic that can happen at Christmas.
