I picked up this book solely because it was by Jennifer Faye. I used to be on her review team and her books are always a good, quick read. And this one didn't disappoint.

Admittedly, I tend to stay away from books where one of the main characters is famous. I feel that the author has a tough road ahead of them coming up with a believable romance for the character. In this case, both of the characters have a little fame behind them. Serena is a well known movie star and Jackson hosts a popular morning TV show. The two don't know each other, but know of each other, and an accident brings the two together in the mountains of Austria.

I liked both characters and the situation they were thrown into. Ms Faye did a great job having the two characters get past their issues to find their happily ever after. And the locale was a nice twist. Throw in a cute dog as a secondary character with a pretty big role and I was a happy reader.

In the end, I really enjoyed this book and recommend to anyone looking for a good Christmas romance.

Serena is off the grid for the holidays so that things until things blow over after finding out that her boyfriend was using her for her status. When an accident occurs near hear cabin due to her over eager pup Serena feels she must help the TV reporter Jackson Bennett without revealing who she is. Until they can get help for him they will spend some time together.

So this would be your average contemporary romance, if you are looking for something truly unique you won't find it here. I feel like I've read this book so many times. Doesn't mean that this is a bad book though. I did find myself enjoying this short holiday romance, seeing the connection between the two. Wondering when the shoe would drop to cause a bit of drama in their life because as sweet as things are going you go question when the bad things will start to happen. I liked the characters and that there was the point of view of both character to see where they were coming from when it came to certain choices they have made. Overall a nice holiday story I enjoyed it.

She’s tired of being used for her connections, and he’s living in a fog of knowing whether life is supposed to be different than the past he once had. Heiress Serena Winston decided to get away for the holidays. She wants some peace and quiet where nobody knows her, so she escapes to a cabin in the Alps for some relaxation. When an unexpected houseguest turns up, will she be able to keep her identity a secret?

TV personality Jackson Bennett hasn’t enjoyed the holidays since losing his wife so when the opportunity to travel around that time to get some unique stories takes him to Austria, he is more than okay with that. When he’s run off the road and left in a precarious position, a beautiful stranger comes to his rescue and gives him a better holiday experience than he was expecting … but why does she seem so familiar?

The title of this book is a little bit misleading, but possibly Snowbound With A Star was already taken. Serena Winston is a major movie star taking time out at a secret hideaway in the Austrian Alps to deal with the aftermath of a bad break-up. It's just her bad luck that the stranger she rescues after a car crash happens to be Jackson Bennett, host of a major morning television show.

Jackson doesn't recognize Serena out of her movie makeup and costumes, but he knows the shy beauty is hiding something. He displays some fairly decent behaviour in making a conscious choice not to dig for it, though when he accidentally uncovers her true identity he does have a few moments of being very self-centred and making it All About Him where I wanted to roll my eyes. To his credit, he gets over himself pretty quickly and understands why Serena chose not to enlighten him.

Everything is all wrapped up very neatly and there is a cute Plot Dog to go along with the story, but I really didn't feel grabbed by this one. It's pleasant enough but an hour after finishing it, when I sat down to write the review, I had to pull up the Amazon blurb to check what the heroine's name was. Sweet, but forgettable. Four stars.

The greatest enemy to a public figure seems to be the media. We all know stories about the invasive techniques of the paparazzi. What they will do to get that photo – well the tales are legendary and at times tragic. News writers, journalists are perhaps just as guilty in their search for that story – the one that could catapult their career.
SNOWBOUND WITH AN HEIRESS by Jennifer Faye centers on trust issues. Not easy for someone to develop relationships when they are sometimes shrouded by greed. Not easy to rely on your instinct when in the past it has failed you. People are only human and their failures are somewhat expected even though at times unforgiveable. It is the ability to forgive that can open the door to something special. In SNOWBOUND WITH AN HEIRESS Jennifer Faye faces that challenge and meets it with her astounding use of dialog, care and wit.

Serena Mae Winston was enjoying the quiet seclusion in the snowy mountains of the Alps. Her puppy Gizmo loved roaming around this vast area and Serena was fast becoming attached to him. Another surprising change in her already spinning out of control life. The last thing she expected was having to rescue a newsman from certain danger after his car swerved to avoid hitting her precious Gizmo.

But life is full of unforeseen circumstances and the irony of this one doesn’t miss Serena’s mind. Questions abound as to what Jackson Bennett is doing up there, was he looking for her and if not will he recognize her. Serena had changed her hair color and certainly wasn’t made up like the actress she was. And she quickly decided to become just plain Mae to this man who was not welcome to her little secret holiday cabin in the Alps.

Mae is a deeply caring person and it is her heart that was directing the care and consideration she offered to Jackson. It was certain to take time in this snow for rescue workers to come to care for Jackson which meant she had no choice but to allow this newsman into her cabin – her secluded sanctuary – her life.

Jackson it seems doesn’t really have much of a personal life. But to Jackson this Mae was becoming his own personal snow angel. To him she was the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen. But there was something almost familiar about this stranger. And unfortunately for Mae his curiosity was whet.

An American in Austria – well there could be a story there. No card holding journalist could resist a story. A story that could certainly eclipse the human nature holiday angle he had been set on.

So let the games begin. Mae working tirelessly to protect her secret identity. Jackson working equally hard trying to get the story about what Mae was doing holed up in her comfy but secluded cabin. She was tough, interesting, caring and gorgeous. What’s a man to do? Might as well make his time valuable.

Jennifer Faye gives us a great give and take escapade in SNOWBOUND WITH AN HEIRESS. Full of laughs and amazing dialog between two strong, driven characters. The entire story from beginning to end revolves around these two fabulous characters and of course let us not forget the puppy’s role. SNOWBOUND WITH AN HEIRESS is a delight to read and still another winner from Jennifer Faye. Comedic romance at its best.
