A short novella and my first by Susan Kearney….Sad to say I wasn’t really impressed with the story or the lame sounding sci-fiction names and scenarios which really made me cringe!

Sara Tolliver is an expert in ancient Martian civilizations and she has been looking forward to her new archaeology expedition on the planet. Her sleeping pod accidentally triggers an imbalance of the time continuum and brings Kendar a womanologist from the future. He also comes bearing the disturbing news that women no longer exist on Mars due to her sleeping pod and she only has a week and a second chance to save herself and the obliteration of women from Mar’s future.

I liked that the story was set in 2045 and Kendar had time travelled from three hundred years in the future. This was a different take on the well used time travel trope which was a nice surprise. Towards the end though, the story got soo damn confusing! I personally didn’t think the storyline of the disruption of the continuum even made sense and it’s definitely not a good sign when I’m thankful the book is short! This would definitely have had potential if it had been a full-length novel, as there would have been more of a chance for an in-depth explanation of the time travel twist that Susan Kearney was trying to get across.

Overall I didn’t mind the characters but I really wasn’t feeling the story…not sure if I would recommend this sadly :(

*Thank-you Susan Kearney, Netgalley & Bell Bridge Books for the ARC.

The thing I enjoyed most about this book was the characters, but the plot was also good and definitely kept me reading

Susan Kearney gives us the novella Seeker about Mars exploration connected with health disaster that threatens to wipe out humans.

This has potential, it's well written and the characters could be likeable if there was more. There are only a few chapters so essentially everything is rushed and happens in five minutes. If this was a real book I would rate it higher.

What happens when you turn on a centuries old machine by accident. That is what Sara, a Martian archeologist, finds out on her first trip to Mars. Waking with a very sexy man is great but the news he brings from the future is not so great. Both Sara and Kendar face a big problem when he travels 300 years into the past. A fun read with a mystery wrapped in a romance.

I received a free copy of the book in return for an honest review.
