This book is filled with so much intense feelings and memories that it made me feel like I was there in the middle of the story. Both Zoe and Connor dealt with way too much in their past. I was so glad to see that they were finally able to overcome so much. The ability to trust for either of them was so impossible. These characters had depth and were well written.

oh I loved this, not quite as much depth of character as I normally read, and not quite as much of a story as I normally read, but this didn't really need it.
it was quick-witted and funny, Bess is the perfect grandmother- so bold, so forthright it brings a smile.
While Connor is not quite the main character as you imagine him to be, he has flaws and vulnerabilities that are just laid out there from start to finish.
Zoe's lead character, is a bit stronger, a lot more outspoken and together they have one hell of a secret, a misunderstanding, that is cleared at the end but causes much strife throughout the story.
I loved the very English, very proper, insults- that are not quite insults that were used.
have to say have never read a book that uses the word 'prat' before.
very funny and definitely worth a read.

I received an advance reader copy from NetGalley in exchange for a fair review.

Family ties are strong-ish in this book based in New Zealand. This was an enjoyable and quick read by Ms. Ashby. It was a contemporary romance.

This review is based on the ARC provided by the author and/or the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.
