This is a YA psychological thriller in the very best way. I love books that keep me guessing and trying to figure things out til the end.

Grace only knows certain things are truth for her.
She has to find Ander. They have to run, because Finn will kill them. Then the Fall starts all over again.
Grace is seventeen years old, highly intelligent and in love with Ander. Ander is her best friend and her twin brother Jem's best friend. From the time they were six years old she always felt connected to Ander.

Now every few days they wake up in an alternate reality where they have to find each other and try to escape Finn from killing them. Every time Finn finds Ander he kills them and The Fall starts all over. It's like a time loop Grace can never escape from no matter how hard she tries. She doesn't understand why it keeps happening or how to stop it but she has to stop it. She can't handle it anymore. Ander always remembers who she is every Fall except this one. Why can't he remember and how can she solve this puzzle without him?

This book is amazing! Each chapter alternates from her life before the first Fall to the current Fall she is in. The ending has you emotional and in knots. I adore this book! I highly recommend!

I devoured this book in ONE DAY! Once I started I just could not stop. FIND ME was a similar read for me, but this one was even more propulsive. The setup of the chapters, going from now to then to now to then, was fantastic.

You start off learning that Grace and Ander are in love, and that their former friend Finn is chasing them. This is the 41st version of the pursuit that they've all gone through, and each time, Grace has had to watch Ander die at Firm's hands -- then they all "Fall" again and the 5-day countdown starts all over again.

The next time Grace "wakes up" in another France's body, in another France's universe, she decides that this 42nd Fall will be different. She refuses to watch Ander die again; she will find a way to keep him safe. As the 5-day clock begins to run and we discover this parallel world of these other Grace, Ander, and Finn, Grace slowly begins to remember their original lives and what has led them all to this point of Falling and repeating the pursuit over and over again.

I refuse to allow any spoilers to slip, so I will not say anything else about the plot! I will say, though, that I was absolutely entranced. I was just as captivated by France's exploration of the 42nd parallel world as I was with her exploration of the past through her memories. The pacing was consistent throughout, and I quite literally never wanted to put my Kindle down! Emily is a master of suspense and keeping the reader engaged and turning the pages.

I finished this late at night and I won't lie, I WAS AN ABSOLUTE MESS!! As I began to put things together toward the end, my mind and my heart were going a mile a minute. This book just .... gutted me. It gutted me. I know it's so cliche to say, "It broke my heart, but then put it back together" -- but there really is no better description for how NEVER APART impacted me. (The one book I can think of that had a similar impact on me is IF HE HAD BEEN WITH ME by Laura Nowlin. They've got very different plots, but they're definitely similar in emotional impact!)

NEVER APART is absolute PERFECTION and probably the best book I've read all year. I wish I could give it 10 stars, or 100! Writing this review has left me thinking how badly I want to read it again, which I rarely do, so... I think it's fair to say I LOVED IT!!!

Thanks to Entangled Teen for the early review copy. This is my honest rating and review.

I can't even begin to express my love for this book. It has everything I love about reading wrapped up in one amazing story. There is nothing I LOVE when I am reading a book with so many twists and turns, that it comes out we have unreliable narrator. The author tied in the past and present events so well, I am pretty sure that is what I liked the most. Going back and forth between the 2 to try and figure out what is going on with Grace.

I was so excited to read this book but it ended up being a DNF. I had a very hard time connecting to any of the characters in the story. The story itself didn't hold my interest either. Normally I like books that go from past to present but this particular time it didn't work out in my favor. The whole time I was reading I kept waiting for that pivotal moment and it didn't seem like it was coming and I was already 66 percent into this book. Even though this story didn't capture me you may love it! Please don’t let my review stop you from reading.

"I'm going to die again."

That ominous first line creates the atmosphere for the beginning of Never Apart - and this story hit the ground running while at the same time lodging my heart into my throat. All is not what it seems and I just couldn't stop reading until I knew the answers; completing it in nearly one sitting. Romily Bernard does an amazing job holding the reader's attention by revealing bits of back story, alternating with the present or various versions of it. I enjoy how this author is able to shape her characters, create connections with those characters, and then uproot everything the reader believes. Truly, some creative and fascinating writing. Future readers should go into this book with no more information than this and enjoy the twists, turns and craziness that culminates into a bittersweet, but wholly satisfying conclusion.

I did not enjoy this from the first page. Although I know that the repetitive nature is the entire point, I was constantly annoyed. This book was just not for me. It isn't bad or poorly written. I am sure that other people will see this as a very entertaining read, but I personally could not get into it. On the basis that it is well written and has promise, I will give it three stars.

This book was unexpectedly great. No offense, book, but honestly, I didn't expect much from you. I thought you would be a decent read, one that would be a great 3 crown rating, but wow, this packed a punch at the end and I was in deep. Despite having a few issues with it, I would so recommend everyone putting this on their TBR.

Never Apart has such an intriguing premise. I really was so intrigued by the moment that I read the idea that I immediately hit request a copy. It sounded like this crazy twisted Groundhog Day kind of story, and the actual story did not disappoint. The story switches between then and now. In the now part, we have Grace, Ander, and Finn counting down the days until Ander and Grace are murdered again and fall into another parallel world. It is twisty, it is dark, it was so intriguing. The world was done beautifully and wonderfully. I never once sat there and went, but that doesn't make sense? I thought it was fantastic, and I give so many props to Bernard.

Grace was a very likeable character. I really rooted for her so hard. She did a lot of the right kinds of things for a person in situation. There was no questionable things that had me screaming at her in the horror movie kind of way. I liked her evolution throughout the story as well. She fought with her heart and stuck up for what she believed in.

The side characters were good as well. Both Ander and Finn were intriguing, and I think Bernard did such a fantastic job with Ander's characterization's especially. He was real, and his flaws provided such realistic consequences. The other side characters such as Jem were great and developed as well.

I had one main issue with this book: it got boring in the "then" parts. They were needed for a lot of characterization and setting up the situation, but I found that I was just bored and skipping through the then parts. It was just a much slower pacing at that time, and I just wanted to get back to the now parts - which is a common issue I have with most now and then books. I just wanted it to pick up. That last 20% switching back and forth was amazing, but I wish it would have been a little more intriguing as I continued with it before that.

Overall, this book was so intriguing, and I was enthralled until the last moment once it picks up. The only issue I had was that some of the then parts really bored me, but they were still vital to the story and important characterization. Bernard shines with her fascinating premise, fantastic characterization, and an ending that really was full of edge of your seat twists and turns. I so recommend this book for anyone that is looking for something a little different in YA. Four crowns and an Ariel rating!

Review: 4 out of 5 stars

Never Apart was a fascinating quick read for me as I was eager to find out what was going on! With twists and turns aplenty, I found this book to be completely captivating.

Our MC’s are Grace and her boyfriend Ander who die on repeat every five days, trapped in an alternate reality they wake, they run and they die always at the hands of their former friend, Finn. They fall in to a parallel world with the same outcome every time but the difference is they come back a different version of themselves.

In their latest fall, things are different, Ander hasn’t found Grace and her twin Jem, who has been absent in the other falls is again with the family; things have never changed so it has left them confused. In every alternate reality they try to work out a way to change the end result but have never succeeded, I don’t want to reveal too much to avoid spoilers but it was a mystery that was done very well and kept me engaged from the very first page.

All of the characters were written well and played a pivotal role in the overall story, Grace was such a ‘real’, likeable character. I adored her! She is a shy girl with anxiety and she was just extremely relatable. Ander is a character with a lot of issues, he was my least favourite, Finn was wonderful! He had the most depth and despite not instantly liking him by the end of it all, I loved him and his sense of humour.

Never Apart is wonderfully written with a superb premise and fascinating characters, and an alternating now and then timeline which I don’t tend to enjoy but it worked well for this book.

I can’t fault Romily Bernard writing and her creative, imaginative story-line, it was a fast paced read that really left me surprised at the end of it all, it was wonderfully executed. My only problem with this book was I didn’t find the ‘then’ sections as engrossing as the ‘now but I still enjoyed it for the most part.

Thank you to Entangled Teen via NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review Never Apart.

"He steps back, steps back again. He can’t believe what I’m saying. Once, I might not have believed it, either. But the lie is the closest to the truth we’re going to get. We’re never going home. We Fall again and again, and every time it’s a little different, but it’s never right."

Grace is trapped in a loop that resets itself every five days. Despite her best efforts, she can’t find a way to escape the seemingly inevitable death of her boyfriend Ander at the hands of Finn.

Heaven knows she’s tried forty plus times now.

But landing in the latest loop, things feel different. Her twin brother Jem has returned, Ander has no memory of their previous Falls (he did in the first forty or so) and her family seems to be more functional. As Grace contemplates embracing the current Fall and staying in this set of events, she can’t shake off the feeling that there’s something she’s overlooking in trying to break the never-ending cycle of tragedy and death.

Romily Bernard’s Never Alone feels a bit like a lost cousin of Quantum Leap. But instead of leaping into various points in history to put things right, Grace is leaping into the same of events over and over again, trying to get things right. Told in alternating points in time before the first Fall and in the current Fall, we’re slowly given clues as to how the Falls began to occur and what Grace may need to do to break out of them.

Saying more than that will ruin some of the surprises that come in the second half of the novel. And those surprises are well earned by Bernard.

Conveying Grace’s anger, frustration and sense of futility at being caught in a seemingly never-ending loop, Never Alone is a taut, engaging thriller. Bernard lays the foundation for the twists and turns to come in the final pages and every revelation feels completely and authentically earned. The sense of dread and unease builds between the two time frames in the story, hooking this reader in and not letting go.

If you’re looking for an entertaining, well-executed thrill-ride with solid characters and an intriguing hook,Never Alone fits the bill perfectly.

In the interest of full disclosure, I received a digital ARC of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Five stars and here’s why:

Fast-paced, heart wrenching, and beautifully written. Ms. Bernard weaves a fantastic tale of love and suspense that kept my attention riveted to the pages. I simply couldn’t put it down.

NEVER APART reminds me GROUND HOG DAY or BEFORE I FALL in that Grace is trapped in an alternate reality where she has to relive five days over and over. There are several twists and turns that kept me on edge until the very end. Very well written. If you love romantic suspense, this book is for you. Highly recommend.

Grace and her boyfriend, Ander, are being hunted. The worst part of it? They’re used to it. This is their 42nd time in this situation and it never gets easier. Every time Grace Falls, she wakes up in a new life. In every new life, she runs. And whenever she runs, she Falls. The cycle repeats itself time and time again. Can Grace find her way out of this terrible loop?

This is one of those books that you really need to go into blind. When I first started reading it, I was a little put off by the similarity to Lauren Oliver’s Before I Fall, but Romily Bernard takes this book in an entirely different direction. And that’s all I’m going to say about the plot. I wish that I could gush over the twists and turns and the connections between the characters, but that would ruin the story for you and I don’t want to do that.

I’ll just say that this book was really good. Even better than I expected. And I enjoyed it even more than I thought I would. I actually hardly slept for two nights because these characters had burrowed their way into my mind and I needed to know what happened next. I needed everything to be explained: why they Fall, why they act the way they do, what happened to all of their friendships.

Final rating: ★★★★☆

What happens if you had to relive the same five days over and over again. And what if at the end of it, your boyfriend is killed and you have to watch. You don't how to stop this nigtmare. But you know the rules you now live by:Wake Up.Run.Die.Repeat.The alternating between then and now timeline than kept me on my toes. I never saw the big reveal coming, nor many of the smaller ones. The book is amazing. When I started reading I couldn't put it down. When I started reading I couldn't put down I read it in one day.Keep up the good work.I received this book from netgalley for honest review of this book.

I need to own this book like yesterday. I kid you not. I started this book around 4:30am, thinking oh, I'll just get a start on it and finish it tomorrow. Nope. I was instantly hooked and read almost continually until 7:30am. I couldn't put the book down, it was that good!

This is also the kind of book that is hard to review because everything is considered a spoiler. Trust me, you'll want to go into this blind so I'm sorry if my review seems really vague and mysterious. It's better this way.

I feel like I can at least talk about the characters (somewhat) without spoiling anything. Grace was amazing. I adored her. She is this super shy girl with social anxiety and she was just so relatable. Normally, I have a hard time reading about characters with anxiety but for some reason, I could read about Grace and not feeling anxious about her anxiety at all. I just really loved her as a character and I loved her strength and her growth.

I didn't care for Ander as a character but I still liked reading about him. He's a very broken guy with a lot of issues. I could see the charm and why he was so well liked as a person. My heart did break for this guy and there was a while there were I was really rooting for him.

Finn was my absolute favorite. He wasn't my favorite right away but once Grace got to know him, I liked him better and better. I understood his weird sense of humor and why he was the way he was. I feel like that is all I can say about him because anything more would be too much. Just trust me when I say that you guys will learn to love him.

There is just so much I want to say but I won't because like I said above, this book is better off going in blind. As soon as it hits and I have money, I will be buying this book. I want to read it over and over again. I recommend that everybody read this as soon as it hits!

Grace and her boyfriend Ander have died 41 times now by the hand of Finn but every time the event comes Grace finds herself awakening in another body, another version of Grace. The trio have been falling from parallel world to parallel world over and over again with the same outcome every time. Ander always finds Grace but withing five days they find themselves in danger again.

The trio seemed to be locked together in this horrible eternity until now, now things are different in this fall. Grace awakened to another version of herself as usual but Ander hasn’t found her. And in this life Grace’s family is together again including her twin who had been missing in all of her universe jumps. But Finn and Ander are here so what is different this time with the trio that events have changed?

Never Apart by Romily Bernard is a young adult suspenseful fantasy read featuring the idea of traveling from one dimension to another alternate reality over and over again. The story in the book is told by following Grace in her current reality trying to figure things out and by alternating back to the beginning of her story to see how the trio had come to begin their journey through dimensions.

The best part of this book was mixing a thriller element of Grace and Ander immediately being attacked and killed in the opening pages before their fall to another reality with the fantasy side of them continuing this nightmare over and over again. There were twists and turns as the story unfolded that lead up to the final conclusion engaged all the way in the story.

I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.

This was my first ever read by Romily Bernard. I had never heard of her or this book before when I found it on NetGalley. What first attracted me to the book was of course the cover and title so I clicked on it and I read the blurb. And I was super intrigued, specially since it was not what I was expecting it to be from that title. I had to give this book a go because it sounded very intriguing and mysterious and I just had to find out what it was all about.

And guys, this book was FREAKING AMAZING!! I seriously wasn't expecting it, not that I had any expectations really but you get nothing of what this book really is from reading the blurb! I mean, of course you get a feel of it but NO, this book is so much more than what ever you expect it's going to be from reading those few lines of the synopsis.
I actually would advise to not read anything and just jump into this book completely blind, don't read any reviews, don't get any ANY spoilers because that might ruin the amazing-ness that is this book! You're good to read the blurb, because like I said, it doesn't really give you anything of what this book IS. So yeah, blurb okay, reviews are a no go!!

I'm not gonna go into the plot, not even the characters, nothing because I don't want to spoil ANYTHING for you. Just know that this book is truly amazing, prepare yourself to be sucked into the story, to not want to put the book down until you know what's happening and until you know the freaking truth. Also, you're going to be frustrated, you're gonna want to take sides and question everything, and you will probably cry. MARK MY WORDS. I know I did. It hurt in the end, like seriously, even though it had been one of my theories, I did not want it to happen. I was literally shook. After I finished the book, I just had to lay down for a while crying and running over everything that happened, in my head. Despite that, all the hurt and the crying, I truly loved this book and what got me even more is that was not expecting it, I literally was not expecting this book at all! As I've said, it shook me and I cannot wait for this to be released so I can get myself a physical copy because this book deserves a place in my shelves.

Please give this beauty a read, I don't think you will regret it, ever.

Never Apart was gifted to be by NetGalley for review. I feel I have to say that first because obviously I've given this 5 stars, I rarely give a book 5 stars. But the rating has nothing to do with getting this book for free. In fact I've not felt this way about a YA book since I read Hotel Ruby (And boy I loved that book, so much I own in on both kindle and hardback!).

Never Apart isn't the first book I've read by Romily. I loved her writing style in Find Me series so knew that I would probably enjoy this one. But I was so not prepared for my feelings after reading it. This book was rad over 2 days, I read till 51% last night and only put the light out then as my eyes were beginning to see lines rather than words from being tired. This morning I've done minimal housework just so I could sit and finish it. I had to know what happened, how it would end.

Grace is a twin to Gem her brother, they live with their parents in Boone. The book centres around Grace, Ander and Finn. She keeps reliving the same 6 days and the only constants are Grace (Who remembers her Falls which happen on the 6th day), Ander and Finn. I don't want to talk more about the story than that, I can't. I had feelings till about 60% in on what was happening. What caused the Fall. Why things were like they were. I was wrong. I liked reading about the Now and the Then. The book is told solely from Grace's point of view but you have the Now timeline (Fall) and the Then of what really happened. Confused yet?

Never Apart sucked me in completely. I fell in love. Not with Ander, never Ander. I think I fell in love with Grace in a maternal friend way. I worried for her. I wanted to guide her. At times shake her, shake sense into her. Finn.... no I'm not telling you about Finn.

I rarely struggle for words with a review. I don't give spoilers but generally I can tell you how I felt about a book. This book cause so many emotions in me. Turmoil, hurt, love, fear, happiness, sadness... I've felt it all. Never Apart is a book of families, life, friends, living in a 'nowhere town'. Its about daily struggles, pain and growing up. This book covers so much. It is a YA and I feel mid/late teen would be best suited to it, just to understand it. I also think adults like myself would enjoy it too. Never Apart strengthens my feelings on Romily's writing. I cannot wait to read more of her work in the future and also recommend this book whole heartedly. 5 stars (And when its released I also will buy this one on hardback so it has a place on my book shelf as well as my kindle).

First, thank you to Netgalley and Entangled Publishing, LLC for allowing me to read and review this book.
Never Apart by Romily Bernard took me a little by surprise. I love her series "Find Me" and thought that I would jump right into this novel. Well...that didn't exactly happen. Her writing has improved so much over that series that I must give her a shout out! It is haunting and lovely novel that really surprised me. I am not going to give a huge synopsis on this book because that is one of the main reasons why I enjoyed it. I knew just enough about the novel to find it intriguing to pick up. If I hadn’t read the other books by Romily Bernard, I may have skipped over it. I am sooo glad that I didn’t though. This is a must read! PLEASE DON’T PASS IT UP!

Wow. This was so different from what I expected, in a good way! I didn't see the story going the way it did and that makes me happy! Well written and fast paced, told in "then" and "now" alternating times, Bernard keeps her reader on their toes! The story of Grace and her love, Ander, who are continuing to "fall" every five days, after Ander's death by the hand of their friend Finn. Each "fall" changes the way Grace is and she is trying to figure out what and why this keeps happening to her. The "then" part of the story gives the reader the backstory of Grace, Ander, Finn and Jem (twin brother to Grace). Both timeline in the story are equally important. I thought this was going to be a fully romantic mystery but it was full of depth and action. I really enjoyed it and I look forward to more from this author.

I am really disappointed with my reaction to this book.. the idea behind the books is really good and the majority of others who I know have read it like it.. therefore I feel slightly weird in saying that I just did not get into this book at all!
I didn't really feel like I connected with the characters, which is a big thing for me, I feel like the characters could of been developed a bit more.
I also feel like the ending was very anticlimactic. I feel that after around 2/3 of the book, the story just gets rushed! Grace has this epiphany, which isn't explored and developed as well as it could of been, then boom.. the ending happens (I won't spoil things for anyone reading this) which ended up leaving me feeling really let down..

BUT.. if your debating whether to read this book or not, I would definitely give it a go!! Since like I said I feel like the odd one out for not liking it 😂💜

"You can be with someone for a year and feel nothing, but you can be with someone for a week and feel everything. Time is not an accurate measurement for love"

**I had received an arc copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley. However, all opinions are my own.😁😁

I don't know how to formulate words to express my feelings about this book right now...
This was definitely not what I was expecting🤔🤔
I thought that this was a cheesy mindless read about a couple getting through problems together.
lol...
I was just way wrong
I'm not going to spoil anything so all I'm going to say is that this book takes you in directions you didn't think would happen.
I was definitely pleasantly surprised
I loved the character flaws, especially Grace needing to change for the ending

The best way to read this is to, in theory, know nothing so I'm not going to have a spoilery section for this one.

This is a solid 5/5 stars for me.
I just can't express enough how in love I am with this book. It dealt with so many problems so well and the story just kept me reading me until the the end.

400 pages in one day...I think that just says everything😁😁

Read it though, so we can discuss😍😍
