The Best Man's Proposal was a very fun romantic comedy. I have read Ms. Daniel's other books in this series and know that she writes a great lighthearted romance. The leading characters were likable and the story offered laughs. Recommended for anyone who loves rom-coms and firefighters 😊. |
Fabulous read. I enjoyed this book. I was provided a complimentary copy of this book so I could give an honest review. |
The Best Man's Proposal was the first book by Wynter Daniel that I have read and it was wonderful! It was witty, sexy and hilarious! |
Niki has her entire life planned out but is too worried about what other people think. If only she could see that she's perfect the way she is, she could have everything she wants. Grant is a man who knows what he wants until he meets Niki and she reminds him in some ways of his ex. Will he find a way to let the past go? She wouldn't hurt him, would she? A spicy one-night romp has the potential to be something more when two strangers discover that their differences, they are exactly what they need. Expectations, goals and desires all look great on paper, but will they like how it unfolds in real time? |

Niki Hamilton is just looking for one night of rebound. Having been recently dumped by her boyfriend she has a one night stand with the best man of her sister’s wedding. Grant Powers is freshly burned from a divorce, he is not looking for a relationship. When Niki is left homeless unexpectedly Grant is asked to take her in by her brother in law. They are not looking to rekindle their one-night stand but the tension between them is palpable. In an Oyster Shell – It was an alright romance nothing that was especially wowing. The Pearls – I like that is a series. I might go back and read the first book. It reads great as a stand-alone. You get to see other characters in the book that would make sense came from the last book. You get a sense of their story without reading the first one. You can go back if you like. The characters were lovable and some easy to hate. Niki’s boss was a real jerk and was easy to dislike. It added an interesting element to the story. Niki was a great character who adapted to the obstacles she was faced with. Grant was a loveable hero. Niki and Grant played off each other really well. I really like how you could see Niki from Grant’s perspective. The romance was sweet. It started out as a one night stand and ended up being more than that. It was a romance that progressed nicely throughout the book. The Sand – The book didn’t wow me too much. It was a pretty average romance. Nothing, in particular, stood out about it. |
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book Niki, dumped via text by her now ex the day her sister is getting married, dressed in what she describes at best flamingo look, she may very well blend into the locale which is Miami. She's just started a new job and her boss is a real jerk, and will soon find out she has no place to live. She's living at her sisters condo while it's up for sale until she can find another job. The hitch here is that giddy beyond belief the happy couple make an announcement that the condo has sold and Niki has two weeks to get out. And no place to go. So in her sister's need to "fix" and the new husband going right along problem solving for Niki, they talk to Grant, Joel's firefighting best man and since Grant's house in for sale and he has an extra room, he's slowly sucked into agreeing Niki can stay there. They're both resistant to the idea Grant is still extremely gun shy and bitter after moving to Miami with his wife because of her career, leaving his job, friends and family and the only life he's ever known to move to Miami and he hates it. That's why the house is for sale, he wants to return to his family's farm to help his parents. He and Niki seem to get along quite well, their love of old movies and much in common, but he holds back especially where his ex is concerned. Grant resents the way Niki's boss treats her and dangles the carrot of something more in front of her. Grant takes Niki up to his parents for the grandparents 60th anniversary when Niki is called home the day before the party which she helped plan. She's good at what she does. When she arrives she discovers her boss didn't need her at all. But the carrot still dangles. Grant decides to lower the selling price in hopes of selling sooner and Niki doesn't know until the real estate agent tells her. This leads to all sorts of crazy thinking and then when his beloved cat runs out the front door, her world goes to hell. It's a great story that has two people stuck in their own mindsets who finally meet in the middle. Middle of what? You have to read the book to find out. Grant is dreamy and I liked Niki. |
First book I've read by this author. It was brilliant!! Love the storyline and loved the characters xx |
I feel like the Amazon description of this book is somewhat misleading. Yes, Niki Hamilton is dumped by her boyfriend on the day of her sister's wedding by her boyfriend, but she's not left pining away like some lovesick puppy dog. Her intentions to move to Europe are based on HER job, a job she's wanted for as long as she can remember. And it's not a "rental snafu" that leaves Niki homeless, but you'll have to read the book to understand that part. It is true, though, that Grant Powers is, as Niki comes to call him, "Captain Save The World", willing to help out his best friend's sister-in-law and rent a room to her while she's awaiting the job transfer to the above mentioned job of a lifetime. He agrees to it reluctantly, given that they'd already shared a "no strings attached" one night stand after his best friend's wedding to Niki's older sister. Niki is unsteady on her feet in life, though the backstory behind her self-doubt explains that unsteadiness. If you're looking for a book that starts off with a strong, in charge, woman, this isn't the book for you. She grows into herself, though, and begins to see herself through the eyes of those who truly know and love her. Grant is...by the description of this book...beautiful. Chiseled, David-esque in stature. He's a fireman who wants to eventually move home to help his parents and grandparents on the farm they raised he and his brother on. And if that's not enough to make you swoon, there's always Wynter Daniels descriptions of his erotic dreams about Niki and vice versa. This type of book always has some "basic" points that are there, so I'll lay those out, too. Swarmy boss: check Bizarre/eldery, yet lovable animal: check And it is, overall, a pretty good book for filling up the fantasy file without being TOO over-kill with the sexuality. |
Thank you NetGalley for this advanced copy. I really like this book. It would have been a great summer read (well its october now) but it was nice to read with a blanket and a fire going (yes it is this cold already). I like how the relationship started and the "intent" of the roommate but progressed. It was a cute story and a quick read. It was really good :) Edited for typo |
What happens when you become roommies with your one night stand? Well, if you're Grant, a hot firefighter, and Niki, the one who needs a place to stay, you try to avoid each other at first. When that clearly doesn't work, you agree to be just friends. When THAT doesn't work, you fall into a FWB situation that will inevitably go wrong. Niki and Grant are at her sister's wedding where she's the maid of honor and he's the best man. She's reeling from the text she just received from her now ex, breaking up with her, and neither is looking for anything beyond one hight night together. So they spend a night steaming up the sheets and she wakes up the next morning determined to get on with her life and hoping Grant won't show up for the wedding breakfast. But, when Niki's sister announces that she and her hubby have sold their condo and Niki can stay with them indefinitely, Niki knows she needs to find a new place to live so as to not impede on the newlyweds' privacy. Grant has a home he's selling so that he can go back to his family's farm to help, so he offers, well, is coerced into offering, her a place to stay until she finds her own place. I like The Best Man's Proposal. It's sweet and sexy and Grant especially is a great character. He's not the usual playboy hero in romances these days. He's kind and has a huge heart. He just has a few scars from a past relationship, so doesn't do relationships. Niki was a little bit of a drama queen at first, definitely with the little sister syndrome who hadn't grown up yet. But, by the end she had matured a little and was much more likable. She and Grant have hot chemistry and it's cemented by their ever growing emotional connection. The Best Man's Proposal is sexy and sweet with a cast of likable, engaging characters. 1 click today. |
Niki Hamilton has had the best one night stand of her life with the best man of her sister's wedding, Grant Powers. Neither are looking for a relationship so it seemed like a pretty good idea at the time. Unfortunately for Niki, she has no idea what's coming next. When her sister announces that she's selling their place, Niki is in a state of panic. Knowing Niki has very little cash at the moment, her new brother-in-law and sister hatch up the brilliant idea for her to live rent-free with, get this, the hottie she just had a fling with, Grant. Niki realizes it is a bad idea, but if Grant is open to it, surely they can manage. Grant absolutely does not want a roommate, but something about Niki compels him to say yes. That is how Grant finds himself moving all of her belongings into his home. Grant really wants to say no to a relationship between him and Niki, but no matter how Grant tries he just cannot resist her. With Niki up for a promotion in England and him set to move in a few months, do they stand a chance?! To be completely honest I did not expect to like author Wynter Daniels' THE BEST MAN'S PROPOSAL. I am not a big fan of contemporary romance, but I have found a few I have enjoyed here and there. THE BEST MAN'S PROPOSAL is definitely one of those exceptions for me. From the beginning, Niki and Grant were a ten on the HOT-ometer! I loved the playfulness and passion between these two. The situation they find themselves in is comical. Only family/friends can get you into something like this... the old 'Hey, why don't you move in with my friend here. He's got a place you can stay or rent.' they say not having a clue you just slept with said friend. That's not going to be awkward at all, LOL! THE BEST MAN'S PROPOSAL is a really fun read. I cannot wait to read Ms. Daniels' next book. |

Niki received a break up text from her boyfriend while at her sister Lucy’s wedding. Grant was the best man. She spends a night with Grant who is a hot fireman and it was a night to remember.Grant was recently divorced as his wife had an affair with her boss and Grant was selling his house then moving to N Y to help his parents with the family farm as he was a country boy at heart. Grant would do anything for anyone. But Grant and Niki are opposites. Niki and Grant only wanted a one night stand with no strings attached. Niki wants to get out from under her sister Lucy. Niki has been living with Lucy rent free but now Lucy has sold her place to a developer and Niki needs a place to live. Niki’s new brother in law suggested Niki stay at Grants until she finds a new place to live. Niki works in a new nightclub and her boss is Tristin and he is a butt but if Niki does a good job running the club in Miami she will get to open a club in London and that is what she wants. .Grant realizes that he wants more than one night with Niki as it had been a long time since Grant had felt this way about someone. I liked this book a lot. The plot was great and the pace was good. Although you figured out the ending before it happened. This was well written. I loved Grant and Niki together and their chemistry was off the wall. But I did feel Niki should have been more independent and mature. She acts more like a kid. Although this way you did get to see her grow and stand up for herself. I loved how Grant dealt with his past and wanted to give him and Niki a chance. This was a sweet enjoyable romance. It also made me laugh at times which is always good. I also loved how Grant was with Sarge. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend. |
Disclaimer: I received an e-ARC of this book. I chose to review it and this in no way impacts my opinion of it. I requested this novel because I felt I could relate to Niki due to her long time goal of moving to Europe. I have wanted to move to Europe for as long as I can remember and so I felt a pull to read this novel and see how things ended up for Niki. Plus, add in a sexy firefighter and you’ve got me sold. This novel was a fun read and the first novel I could actually get into for the past month. Though it grabbed my attention and kept me reading, I felt I couldn’t give it more than three stars because there is nothing I hate more in novels than ‘instalove’ and this novel was full of it. This novel lacked the chemistry I can’t get enough of in romance novels and that really brought the rating down for me. I did really enjoy the characters of Niki and Grant. Grant was the perfect gentleman that any girl would fall for. Kind, caring, and in incredible shape as a firefighter how could any girl resist? When Niki and Grant fall into each other as rebounds, it seems simple. One sexy night together is what they agreed on but when Niki moves in with Grant both their lives are flipped upside down. Being in the same house 24/7 proves to be almost more than Niki and Grant could handle. It was frustrating watching them deny themselves of something they both wanted just because they both wanted such different things, but I could also understand how Niki wouldn’t want to give up her dreams of moving to Europe for a guy she just met. Regardless of my issues with the instalove and lack of chemistry because of that, I still thought it was a cute novel and recommend it to any romance lovers out there. You honestly can’t go wrong with firefighters. |

Technology sucks. Well, at least it does when your boyfriend breaks up with you via text. Yeah, the move to Europe to be with him is definitely off. Niki is nkw dateless, as the jerk chose right before her sister's wedding to do this. What's that saying? Get over one by getting under someone else? Niki is making that her motto for the night, and she's found just the sexy man to join her. Grant, a recently firefighter, has been hurt by love and decides it's easier to just avoid it. But, when your best friend's new sister-in-law falls into your arms, and you share an explosive night together, one you'd both agreed was just that...you realize how right everything felt with her and decide maybe you've just now found the one. When Niki is homeless due to a mistake, Grant surprises both of them when he offers his guest room while she looks for another place. Oh man, the sexual heat is still there, and now they're essentially living together..how long will they be able to resist what they both want? Can these two, both hurt by someone that claimed to love them, risk their hearts again? Will they realize they didn't belong with anyone but each other? Is there a HEA in their future? One-click now and follow along as Grant and Niki must decide what's more important...protecting their hearts, or possibly getting everything they've always wanted. **I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.** |
This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. The story flowed very well and was very enjoyable. This book will keep you reading long into the night and you will not want to put this book down until you finish. This was such a great read and full of surprises. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review. |
This was a fun sweet story.Grant he was great a well rounded good character who will do anything for anyone,he's a firefighter( so has the man in uniform thing going on always a plus for me)who is going home to help his parents run their farm and ends up rooming with Niki a down on her luck damsel in distress,Niki was ok but i did want to shake her at time everyone needs help at some point but early on in the book she was just kind of pathetic she did grow on me throughout the book she drew up a bit and starts handle her business. What i did like was the attraction between these two you knew it was there but there was a decent story to. |

Really should try both |
Always living in someone else's shadow? suffering a badly broken heart and swearing to never do relationships again when you are different from the person you care about? Well Niki and Grant fit the bill. Nikki wants one thing...to go to England. However her boyfriend breaks up with her via text at her sister's wedding, her boss is offering her a chance to still make that dream come true. Grant has had his heart broken by his ex wife and is leery of relationships. He just wants to leave the city and go home. these two are heading in opposite directions, but the attraction between the two is off the charts and hard to ignore. When Nikki is homeless, moving in with Grant until his house sells sounds like a good idea until temptation becomes a constant issue. It was a good book and fun to read. You can watch Nikki grow out of her insecurities and push Grant more adn more. Of course you have to love Sarge. Just a good book all the way around. |
Niki Hamilton is determined to get the promotion on offer to move to London to work and nothing is going to stand in her way. However, she never factored in falling in love with firefighter Grant Powers, especially after she ends up agreeing to live with him temporarily when she becomes homeless. But with Grant already being burned once by a woman he loved, how can he even think about giving love another chance. Will Niki and Grant realize that love is worth fighting for, or will Niki's need for independence keep them apart? This book's cover alone would make me want to read this book, but the fact that this story has such an enticing blurb is the icing on the cake, which had me choosing this story to read and I've got to say that this story was highly entertaining and fast-paced due to the heroine's determination to get her dream job and the hero's determination to do everything he can to help those he loves. The way this story started had me smiling at the heroine's antics, as she knows getting involved with someone isn't a good idea, not if she wants her dream to come true when it comes to the promotion she worked so hard to get. However, it seems circumstances are determined to keep the hero and heroine together after the heroine finds herself about to be homeless. Will Grant be able to help her out? The wonderfully-written dialogue drew me into this story and had me captivated because of the main characters back stories that have them ready to move on to bigger and better things or doing what's right for family. Will they be able to find a way to be together, even if it means compromising? Moreover, the heroine is resilient, hard-working and I liked how determined she was to prove herself to her boss, even though her boss was an absolute jerk that likes to take advantage of the heroine in the way that if he said to Niki, 'Jump', she'd say 'How high', because she was desperate to get the promotion her boss kept telling her about. I also liked the close relationships the heroine had with her sister and her best friend and that she could turn to them whenever she needed advice. While the hero, he's confident, determined to win the heroine over, and I liked how he would do anything for his family, even if it meant sacrificing everything he's worked so hard for. I also liked how tight the hero is with his family and the way his grandparents tease him when it comes to his moments of eavesdropping. Yet, what I liked most of all about the hero was how good he was for the heroine and vice-versa and how he was able to overcome what his ex-wife did to him to be able to give another woman a chance. Overall, Ms. Daniels has delivered a wonderful and enchanting read in this book where the chemistry and romance between this couple was formidable and palpable in showing how good these two are together. The way this story ended had me cheering for this couple's happy ever after, as Grant needs Niki just as much as the heroine needs Grant. Yet, what I liked most about the way this story ended was what Niki was willing to do to be with Grant. However, it was the epilogue that wrapped this story up wonderfully because of the surprise the heroine had for the hero. It was special and showed how much she loved him. Then again, special days are to be celebrated with the effort the heroine takes to make the hero's day exceptional. I would recommend The Best Man's Proposal by Wynter Daniels, if you enjoy second chance romances or books by authors Jenna Bayley-Burke, Avery Flynn, Sarah Balance and Tawna Fenske. |
