Nina Croft has written a very good story. Enjoyed it from start to finish.

This is the second book in the "Beyond Human" series by Nina Croft. Luckily I decided to pick up the first book in the series, "Unthinkable", and give it a go before starting this one. I would strongly suggest reading that book before starting this one. The beginning of "Unspeakable" does give a quick run down of the first book but honestly I think it makes it sound goofy and not something I would want to pick up. But I thought that book was actually very good and quite interesting with a lot of character info and events taking place. So grab it first.

I loved "Unspeakable". The deep underlying theme is not one I would normally choose to read. <spoiler> This is laid out in the first chapter but a spoiler if you want to pick up the first book before this one. Time Travel. I normally avoid anything to do with time travel like the plague. The first romance book I ever read was "A Knight in Shining Armor" by Jude Deveraux and it almost turned me off of romance books (and time travel) FOREVER. Worst ending in the history of books EVER!! Freaking hate that book. Anyway... </spoiler> Luckily I didn't know what was going on until the end of the first book because this (so far) is a series I wouldn't want to miss. It just has a very different feel to it from the books I've been reading lately.

I loved Sadie and Ethan together. Both of them are very outwardly badass but have a lot of hurt and vulnerability deep inside. My fave type of character. I don't want a whiny heroine who is waiting only on a man to save her. But I want her to have some uncertainty inside that makes her human. The author did a good job of bringing that forward. All the characters in this series have a nice duality going on. Not quite bad, not quite good, and sometimes they flip flop. Someone you disliked becomes seen in a different light and so forth. It's been quite enjoyable working my way though the story line.

Sadie and Ethan were great together. I could feel the chemistry and the fact that Sadie could often see into Ethan's mind added an interesting change. I definitely wouldn't have minded a little more steamy scenes though.

The plot is intricate in this series. There were a couple twists and turns I didn't see coming which is awesome. And a new group of "unknowns" was introduced in this book. I can't quite see where everything is headed which is nice but makes me want the next book NOW. Love the side characters and really can't wait for Kane's book where I am assuming (hoping) he is paired with Kaitlin.

Wow, I loved this book! This picks up following the Tribe in their very fight for survival against the Conclave. While this is a stand alone novel, you will enjoy it so much more if you've read the prior book.

This picks up predominately from Sadie's point of view as she is following the thread of Conclave members to eliminate them all. She holds them responsible for killing many people, but especially her sister. Ethan is the man she can't stop dreaming about, but she believes him to be a dream fantasy, not a real man...

This novel is filled with twists, turns, and time travel that literally twists time around. While not my normal genre, I loved this novel. At it's heart, it remains a romance, just wrapped in a complex plot that kept me guessing. Put this one at the top of your TBR list. The author is on my must read authors' list.

Different than what I am use to reading. The writing was good but the subject matter took me a while to wrap my head around. What would happen if the past and the future collide and you are not sure what will dictate your life. Ethan and Sadie are just to characters in this book that must determine what is fate and what is destiny. Thank you NetGalley and Nina Croft for allowing me to read and write a honest review of this book.
