This is Book 8 of the Salvation Pack series. Although I would seriously recommend you read the series in order, or at the very least the first couple of books, it can be read as a standalone but you will miss out on the significance of the more intricate relationships and backstories.

You can’t help but like Reece and Hannah. Reece has taken a massive leap of faith, separating himself from his pack and his family for 10 years, on the basis of a dream. Hannah, too, must take a leap and decide if she’ll trust Reece and his pack, or run off on her own.

As usual with these books there is a serious case of instalove, but it is well done. I liked the fact that despite Reece declaring his intentions from almost the first moment (he had been waiting for her for 10 years, it’s only natural that he’s ahead in the emotional stakes), it takes Hannah a much longer time to conquer the misinformation she had been told since she was a child and to decide what she feels for Reece is more than simply lust. Trust must be earned after all.

I enjoyed getting inside the villain’s head. It kept you guessing his true motivations, although little titbits were dropped here and there it wasn’t until much later in the book that everything comes together. It was great for keeping the suspense up through the entire book.

This is still a relatively new author for me and I am steadily working through her back catalogue of books. Having said that, I haven’t yet read anything I haven’t enjoyed. She has a nice and easy writing style that flows well. Her world building is consistent and her characters are well developed with the main characters genuinely likeable and the villains suitably dastardly!

If you enjoy paranormal romance, I would recommend giving this author a go.

It's been awhile since I visited Salvation but I easily fell back into this storyline and in love with these characters. Reece is all grown up and I loved getting to see him as a detective and finding his own happily ever after. Hannah was pretty good as a female lead for Reece and I liked her better as she got more comfortable and. There wasn't much mystery to this one though and was dealt with rather quickly but I enjoyed Hannah and Reece's chemistry.
I will say if you haven't had a chance to read this series you may not fall into it as quickly bc these are recurring characters and a world that's built on each time.
This was a complimentary advanced reader copy that was gifted to me by the author/ publisher in exchange for a honest review via Netgalley.

Detective Reece Gallagher and his partner have been called to a murder scene. The killer set fire to the body to destroy the evidence. Reece is a half breed werewolf and knows that the victim is as well.
Hannah Burdette has always kept a low profile to stop anyone finding out what she is. Her werewolf father drummed it in to her that she will always be in danger.
With a vicious killer on the loose Chicago is no longer a safe place to be. This particular killer has an agenda he has been carrying out for years, but when he stumbles across one of the reasons for his rage it gets more personal.
Our heroine has been abandoned by those who should love her, and that has made her strong and very self sufficient.
Our hero is a born protector, but life in the big city is proving too much. It's time to return to his living family.
This is part of a series but easily read alone. It will however tempt you to go and find the others. A very exciting read.

The eighth book in the Salvation Pack series sends us a wee bitty into the future... we first met teenage Reece in Wolf on a Mission when he brought his two half-breed nephews to Salvation. I would say this is a book that will be enjoyed more if you have read the others in the series, but not completely unenjoyable as a standalone.

I enjoyed this book with Detective Reece and Hannah and the extended pack when they return to the pack for her safety and seeing all the characters from earlier books... as always it left me (im)patiently waiting for the next in the series!
