The pages of Troubled Waters are packed with so much. Forest fires, missing people, murder, shipwreck, loss of fortune, rejection, second chances. Author Susan May Warren weaves these elements together in a story that is moving and dramatic.

My heart was pumping through the adrenaline-inducing adventures throughout the book. And the rogue wave that caused the shipwreck that resulted in Ian and Sierra (separately) drifting through the sea, each thinking the other was lost, had my heart in my throat. (I have a terror of the ocean and being caught like that!)

Throughout the story, Ian and Sierra had to learn to call on God. That He loves unconditionally. That He is the only one who is in control. And until they were able to surrender themselves to Him, no relationship between them could work.

there comes a time in a man’s life when he either has to get right with Jesus and ask for help or go it alone.

The newest Montana Rescue book gives readers the story they have been waiting for with Ian and Sierra.

Ian Shaw has been waiting a long time for a happy ending. After his niece, Esme, went missing, he put all his resources into finding her with no luck. Then a series of explosions and wildfires put him in hot water with the government for his work causing him to lose the fortune he has worked so hard for. And to top it all off, the woman he loves is now refusing to speak to him. Sierra Rose didn’t think the day would come when she had to give up on Ian Shaw, but his obsessive search to find his niece left no room for her. The solution to her problem comes when she finds Esme, who doesn’t want her uncle or anyone else for that matter, to know where she is. These problems get put on hold for Sierra when the PEAK rescue team is in need of funds and Sierra arranges a fundraiser using Ian’s yacht in the Caribbean. Towards the end of the excursion, the ship is irreparably damaged and the passengers end up overboard in the churning sea. Ian and Sierra have to tests the boundaries of the relationship they have left along with their own survival skills in order to come out alive and help the others in any way they can.

Book four in a series can be very difficult. Your audience needs something new and fresh to stay interested but also want to continue the story of the characters they have formed a bond with over the previous books. Susan May Warren has delivered her best installment yet with Troubled Waters. The story of Ian and Sierra has been developing slowly with each of the previous books in the Montana Rescue series and goes full force as they finally have their own story. Fans of Warren’s writing will not be disappointed. She has brought these characters to life more than any in the series so far and the tension was at a whole new level. With the PEAK rescue team, there is always tension with someone being in danger and the team having to work together to save them, but the danger here hit home with all the characters, and not just Ian and Sierra being in a tough spot. It is nice that these books come out quick enough together that readers aren’t left waiting too long to find out what is coming next. I recommend this book to readers that are wanting a great romantic suspense with heart and a story they will not be able to put down.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher. The views and opinions expressed within are my own.

A rescue gone wrong leaves Jess lost in the middle of a massive fire and the rescue chopper out of action and requiring extensive repairs. Pete returns to conduct a dramatic save of Jess, but Ian is effectively broke and can no longer afford to help pay for PEAK costs. Fundraising is needed, and Sierra steps in and arranges a cruise for some of Ian's rich friends. But amid all this, Esme resurfaces, and Sierra is forced into keeping another secret from Ian. When everything goes south on the cruise, both lives and relationships are in danger. Will Ian and Sierra overcome their issues and get together? And can Jess and Pete face up to her past?

I have read the prequel to this series and the Crossfire novella, but not the previous novels in the series. Having read all of the series would probably have made bits of this fit in better, but I had no trouble working out the storyline as much as necessary. Unlike many book that focus on just two characters, this book consists of several threads all plaited together, with Ian and Sierra, Pete and Jess all playing major parts, and various others being important supporting characters. The intertwining threads make the book far more multi-dimensional than most, which I enjoyed, and I had no difficulty keeping the different threads straight as can sometimes be an issue.

This book really had a bit of everything in it: romance, suspense, action and a background message about relying on God. Thus, I would happily recommend it for a range of audiences, and am sure that all will enjoy it as much as I did.

Content note: No sex, limited kissing, language good, limited gore (and that by natural causes). Though not quite a cliffhanger, the ending leaves Pete and Jess' story rather up in the air, hopefully to be finished in the next book, which I look forward to reading.

Note that I received a free copy of the book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to write a positive review and this is my considered opinion of the book.

Ah finally...Ian and Sierra's story.

It was a bit shocking for most of this Montana Rescue story to take place in the Gulf of Mexico. Shocking, but the reason for Ian and Sierra being out on a yacht in ocean waters made sense. Their story is filled with action and some tense moments. The ending was fabulous.

Now...can we PLEASE get an HEA for Jess and Pete?

Troubled Waters, Susan May Warren's latest book in her Montana Rescue series, continues the saga of the PEAK rescue team. In true Warren fashion, this novel grips you from beginning to end, leaving you with a mixture of satisfaction at the story you just read along with great anticipation for the rest of the tale yet to come in future books.
Finally, in this story, the long awaited issues between Ian, Sierra, and Esme are resolved. Filled with tension and danger, Warren carries her readers from page to breathtaking page along a journey immersed in a message of redemption. As always, I appreciated how Warren weaved a strong theme of faith throughout her plot, challenging and encouraging her readers in their own relationships, both with people and God. I came away from this book with a new perspective, seeing areas within myself I needed to change for the better.
If you've read any of Warren's previous books in this series, please pick up Troubled Waters. You will not be disappointed!

Troubled Waters is another great adventure in the life of the members of the PEAK Rescue team in Mercy Falls, Montana. Susan May Warren does an amazing job of storytelling as we have come to expect. This is a page turner that I found hard to put down. I have enjoyed this series and look forward to getting into the lives of the characters of the series where there is never a dull moment.
After the team helicopter crashed and has repairs too extensive for the team to afford, team administrative assistant Sierra Rose and billionaire Ian Shaw work together once more to raise money for the purchase of a new chopper. The two care about each other but have never been able to pursue a relationship. When she was working with him, his niece, Esme, disappeared. Ian has a domineering, bossy personality that drove his niece away and her disappearance consumed him. Sierra let him know that she couldn't work with him because of his obsession. Now, Sierra has planned a fundraising trip on Ian's yacht to the Caribbean out from Galveston. Some of Ian's friends are going on the trip of a few days of fishing, snorkeling, jet skiing and fun while Sierra plans to talk them into donating money to purchase a chopper. Ian and Sierra are thrown together again and realize how much they still care for each other but things are complicated when both are pursued by others and neither know how the other one feels. When danger strikes, both have to realize that they need to let God be in control of their lives. Sierra wants to fix things for everyone that she cares about. Ian wants to control the lives of everyone he cares about. He has always thought that his success is his making. He has never needed God. The PEAK team is Sierra's life and she doesn't want to lose it. She also has a secret that might cause problems with Ian.
Another relationship is trying to develop between EMS Jess Tagg and smokejumper Pete Brooks. He gets back to Mercy Falls in time to rescue Jess off the mountain when the chopper goes down and leaves her stranded. Jess' secret life caused problems with them in the past but they both care about the other. Don't they? There are lots of excitement, danger, relational issues and faith lessons in this story. We can't fix everything, control everything and earn love.
Thanks to NetGalley and Revell for allowing me to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Fourth book in, to probably my favourite series (Montana Rescue) from Susan May Warren, and it just keeps getting better & better. She's an author who can somehow reach the very essence of your heart and pull you right in to the pages. The magic of her storytelling ability, is such that by now, the PEAK team is a real entity in your mind, working and living in the area surrounding Glacier NP.

If you've read this series from the very beginning, you've been following this disastrous relationship between Ian & Sierra for a long time. In fact, it gets so dire at times I've actually thought - it's time, let's move on. It's been hard to feel much empathy with Ian. He's not your regular type of guy and a little hard to relate to. Sure he's had his fair amount of challenges & heartache - but he can be brutal when it comes to his interpersonal skills.

Sierra, has had quite the upbringing. One in which I can't relate to either, yet something struck a chord with me as I read Susan's notes at the end. She mentions this concept of 'adopted child' or 'forgotten child' - in Sierra's case. This need to work so hard to find acceptance and validation from those in your circle. The desire to be cherished and never let go. In some way being a middle child, that felt like getting lost in the cracks at times, I wonder if that has not shaped my personality too. Highly likely.

This story brings about a conclusion for Ian & Sierra, in a brilliantly told epic adventure of their own. For the first time we leave Montana behind, which I will admit, wasn't my idea of fun. Mostly because my love for Glacier is what drew me hook, line and sinker into this series to begin with. Yet, as we set sail into the Gulf of Mexico we are taken on an rollercoaster ride so unique, it truly is the story and plot we needed for Ian & Sierra.

I couldn't put this down. If it wasn't Christmas and I wasn't super busy I'd have read this in a day. I have been so excited for the next in this series, that as soon as I was granted this eARC from Netgalley, all I wanted to do was drop everything and open up this book.

What a ride, what a troubling, distressing and surprising conclusion for the characters who began it all. You will not be disappointed with this entire series, or 'Troubled Waters'.

And, oh. Pete. And Jess. They are truly my favourite two and the plot thickens.... I don't always love a book, but when I do, I fall hard. Five full stars of love for this story.

Thanks to Netgalley & Revell for the complimentary copy. This is my honest review.

did not want to start this book...............................because I knew I would devour it in a day and then it would be over. I was right, and now I am left to wallow in my book hangover, and sigh in remembrance of this awesome story.
Susan May Warren has truly outdone herself with this incredible series. I love the nail-biting action, life threatening tension and swoon worthy love stories.

Ian and Sierra both have fear and control issues to work through (don't we all in some way?), and it was very touching to watch them come to the end of themselves, and turn to God to be the one to hold them in life's darkest places.
The pace of the book never let up, i was riveted to this book until the very last page.
I could rant all evening about this book, but why read my disjointed review, when you could read the book for yourself!
A huge thank you to Netgalley for giving me a copy of this book for review.

HEART-STOPPING SUSPENSE!

From the first page you the last, Warren provides edge of the seat excitement in this latest installment of the Montana Rescue Series. Billionaire Ian Shaw is a self-made man but he desperately needs to learn what it means to be a GOD-MADE man. He’s been blessed beyond measure but he continues to drive way everyone away with his super controlling ways. For most of the time that he was building his empire, he always had the support of his phenomenal personal assistant Sierra Rose. That is until Ian felt betrayed and fired Sierra not once but twice! Their feelings for each other have long fluctuated like the rise and fall of the Stock Market. Their main conflict is the continued search for Ian’s niece Esme.

The PEAK Rescue Team’s helicopter has been damaged and Sierra decides she must throw a Fund Raiser for some of Ian’s closest “deep pocket” friends. She decides to host a junket onboard Ian’s multimillion dollar yacht “Montana Rose” which will also be the maiden voyage for the vessel. Being an exceptional planner, she has very detail taken care of - except for the extra “mate” who is on board making upgrades to some of her plans. Turns out that Ian can’t keep himself away from Sierra and his closest friends!

Troubled Waters is not for the faint of heart. What happens on their trip is the “perfect storm” of sorts. Actually, it’s the “perfect storm” for many situations - decisions about one’s future, relationships with friends and significant others and the biggest question of all - do you believe God is your refuge, your portion? Is God ENOUGH? While lost at sea, Ian has plenty of time to consider the things Sierra has shared with him and they both consider their future together. Will this finally be the time they stay together?

Other PEAK Team members are caught in their own personal crisis of belief because of decisions made in their pasts and are deciding whether to trust God or continue to live in fear. Warren brilliantly weaves in both storylines/characters for a tremendous ending that will leave you begging for the next installment of the Montana Rescue Series!

I was provided an ARC by NetGalley and Revell. The opinions expressed here are entirely my own and without influence.

Troubled Waters is the fourth in Susan May Warren’s Montana Rescue series. There’s also a prequel novella and a mid-series novella. Whew! She’s a busy writer. And an excellent one.

Troubled Waters is Ian and Sierra’s story. We’ve been following them and hoping for them to work out their issues in the previous books. Finally, this is their time.

Ian Shaw is a billionaire. A driven and focused billionaire. Sierra Rose started as his assistant, became his friend, and then he fell in love with her. And she with him. But they couldn’t get past the secrets between them. She knew his niece ran away with her boyfriend and didn’t tell him. He spent millions of dollars searching for his niece, intent on finding her and bringing her home. In the previous books, Ian and Sierra’s relationship devolved and when Troubled Waters begins, they’re barely speaking, barely friends, and definitely not working together.

Now, Sierra has another secret: she found Ian’s niece. She agrees to keep the young woman’s location private for another month, to give her a chance to call her uncle. In the meantime, Ian is facing huge governments fines for a drilling accident that decimated a town. He needs cash and decides to sell his properties and holdings, including his Montana ranch and his yacht.

Sierra’s working for the PEAK Rescue team at their base. A helicopter crashes and there’s no money for repairs or a new chopper. She appeals to Ian and some of his wealthy friends and they head to the Caribbean for a “three-day cruise,” so she can convince them to donate funds for a new helicopter. Just like Gilligan’s “three-day cruise,” Ian’s and Sierra’s trip ends badly, hence the troubled waters of the title. I won’t give away what happens, except to say it’s gripping and not-put-down-able.

Pete and Jess’s story has also been slowly evolving through the three prior books, and they continue in Troubled Waters. When we get to their story, it promises to be a doozy. I can’t wait!

I love Troubled Waters and I highly recommend it! Another winner from Ms. Warren’s smoking keyboard.

Finally, Ian and Sierra get their story. It's been so long for them, between other rescues and the search for his niece. Each book offers us a familiar PEAK team member and their quest for love, and faith, along with a serious rescue mission. Due to financial needs Sierra decides to wine and dine Ian's friends to pull money for chopper repairs. Unfortunately, nature wasn't having this lovely trip on a yacht and caused a terrible racket. While Ian, Sierra and friends fight for survival Jess and Pete have their struggles. Jess must make hard decisions and put Pete's mind at ease, but nothing is easy. The entire series is full of gripping and terrifying rescues, budding relationships and subtle strength from God. The characters make more sense reading the series in order but you could probably jump in and enjoy, quickly catching on. I received my copy through Netgalley, and voluntarily wrote this review.

Action packed story that kept me on the edge of my seat wanting to know more. Great story. I received a copy from NetGalley and this is my personal honest opinion.

Another beautiful and intense story by Susan May Warren about a rescue mission at sea, but also about redemption and finding peace after devastating loss and grief.
I loved all characters in this Montana Rescue series, but I have to confess I always had a soft spot for Ian Shaw, who carries all that raw and unspoken grief and emotions. A determined and bullheaded man, often infuriating, but so loyal and committed to the people he loves. So, I was expecting his story eagerly and I loved to see him getting his HEA.
I also loved the plot line about Pete (he’s so awesome) and Jess, and the chance to see the other characters again. I do hope Susan May Warren will write Dex’s story in the near future and perhaps then we’ll get to see a little more of his friend Ian and Sierra...
The writing is great, as usual, the story flows smoothly and for me it was an added bonus to have a rescue operation at sea, a more familiar environment than the mountains. In the powerful descriptions of May Warren, once again Nature unfolds its beauty but also its dangers. A fantastic read!

Finally!

As soon as I noticed that “Troubled Waters” was available, I knew I HAD TO read it. It’s been the most anticipated book for me since the beginning of this series, thanks to “If Ever I Would Leave You,” of course.

Ian and Sierra had so much history. They truly deserved a book focused on them.

I do believe that they complicated everything unnecessarily in previous books, but I think that’s what we do when there are unresolved issues in our hearts.

I identified so much with Sierra and Ian at different aspects of their personalities. I could easily relate with some of their struggles and thinking patterns.

The story was good. I especially enjoyed learning more about Ian. He’s always been so perfect and put together, but this book showed him in a more profound and vulnerable way. He was my favorite.

I liked Sierra, too, but I guess I couldn’t connect with her that much, even though we have more than one thing in common.

One day, I’d like to own a yacht just to name it “Montana Rose.” The name was so fitting. However, I didn’t like very much that “inconvenient situation” that encouraged our main characters to have the conversations they needed to have long time ago. It seemed a bit forced to me, but, that’s a matter of opinion, I guess.

As always, dialogues were great, and I could actually see myself on board, because the author made me part of the journey.

It was also great to catch up with Pete and Jess. I seriously believe their book should be next, but I know that won’t happen. So, we’ll have to wait to see how things work for them at the end.

Another wonderful book in an action packed series. I was excited to finally get a story featuring Ian and Sierra.

I found myself starting to like Ian more in this book. He was finally starting to move on and make his life be about more than just finding his niece. I understood why he was searching for her, but it was nice to see him starting to look for other important things in his life.

I never fell in love with Sierra. I think I've always been frustrated with her need to solve everything and her unrequited love for Ian. Even in this book I still didn't love her. But I do love her drive and ambition to see PEAK stay afloat even during hard times.

My favorite parts of this book actually included Jess and Pete - so I'm hoping they have a bigger role in the next book. For some reason I'm more drawn to the mountain scenes than the water ones.

I was glad that this book was finally revealing secrets to the characters. There have been so many secrets hanging that I've been waiting for the characters keeping them to stop.

Overall I loved the action in this book, and I enjoyed the reconciliation between characters and the romantic moments.

I received a copy of this book from Revell. This is my honest opinion.

Troubled Waters, written by Susan May Warren, is book #4 in the Montana Rescue series.
Wow! I'm sure this is my favorite book of all of this series!
I loved the way that Warren used a great theme of choices throughout this phenomenal read. I love how we learn more about Ian & Sierra...and so many of the other loved characters in the series.
I am not a crier when I read, but this one...it had me tearing up a couple places. It's full of suspense, great inspirational message, and definitely NOT lacking in romance.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All thoughts and comments are my own.

Warren writes another great installment in her Montana Rescue Series. This time we get Ian's and Sierra's long awaited story, along with some of Jess's story. It was fast paced and engrossing, even though most of the story did not take place in Montana. I was really looking forward to Ian and Sierra's story and it was a satisfying tale.
This was a great read and I look forward to reading the next novel.

This is the fourth book in Ms. Warren’s Montana Rescue series. I have loved this entire series and am always eagerly awaiting the newest release. This story is one I have wanted to read since beginning the series. This book examines several of the characters that have been in all of the books, but mostly focuses on Ian and Sierra’s relationship. Readers will learn the revelation of what happened to Ian’s niece, Esme. There are also updates on previous characters’ relationships and lives. Of course, Ms. Warren doesn’t disappoint in making the reader want to read the next book with the additional details to other characters (I do not want to include any spoilers here). I honestly enjoyed this book thoroughly!!! I highly recommend reading all of the books in this series! You will not be disappointed, and if you have never read any of her books, you will be hooked! The book was entertaining and intense at times making the reader want to keep reading to discover the ending. If you like suspense-filled novels, you will love this book!
***I was given a free electronic copy of this book from the author for an honest review. This is my honest opinion. Even though I received this copy free, I have purchased her books before.

I love Susan May Warren's books as a rule, and TROUBLED WATERS is edge of your seat fiction that will keep you riveted all the way to the end of the book.

Ian and Sierra have this type of on again and off again relationship. They fell in love pretty much the moment they met but Sierra is the daughter of a hippie and Ian is a billionaire and used to having things his way and while Sierra was a competent employee he was the boss. Now, she's fired, basically homeless and working for the PEAK Rescue company, but when a helicopter goes down in a fire they are left stranded, especially when it turns out that the helicopter wasn't insured!

To raise money Sierra proposes using Ian's yacht to have a fund-raiser for PEAK. But then things go from bad to worse.

There are two romances in this book, but Pete and Jess's remains unfinished as at least for now, Jess has to go her own way.

TROUBLED WATERS is stand alone, but fans will want to read them in order to find out the history behind PEAK, see Ian and Sierra meet for the first time, and read the other team members' stories.

The books are (in order) Wild Montana Skies, Rescue Me, A Matter of Trust and TROUBLED WATERS. Don't miss a single episode of this adventure romance series by Susan May Warren.

My only complaint, she calls the Coast Guard bozos. Really. My son is a Coastie. I told my son though and he laughed.

I was given a copy free. All opinions are my own.
