Laramie Cooper, Coop to his Navy SEAL buddies is on his way to take part in a secret mission. Bristol Lockett is an art student working as a waitress. When Coop and his buddies come in to the restaurant in Paris it's an immediate connection between the two of them. Bristol behaves like she's never done before by taking Coop to her place, where they spend 3 days basically in bed because of the intense attraction between them. At the end of those days Laramie leaves to go on his mission. When Bristol realizes that she's pregnant she tries to find him but can't. Meanwhile Coop is going through hell after being captured in Syria and presumed dead. When his buddies come and rescue him he returns to Paris looking for her but she's already moved back to the states after a year of being held hostage, When Coop is sent on a mission during the Christmas season to New York, he happens to come across Bristol's gallery showing. The guy trying to get her to go out with him tries to interfere and almost succeeds when Coop hears her laugh and realizes its his Bristol from 3 years before. They are brought back together and try to fight the attraction that they gave into those years ago. Bristol doesn't want to get involved again because of the pain she went through when she learned he was supposedly dead. Between their feelings for each other and their son they realize that the love was always there. The most recent book in the Westmoreland Series and the second book in the Legacy miniseries is a holiday treat for any Brenda Jackson fan.

His Secret Son merges two of my favorite past times. Old movie charm with a little Westmoreland temptation and creates a modern day classic. Ms. Jackson is constantly evolving in her skill as an author and that talent shines through the seduction that is Coop and Bristol. Fans of Love Affair and Sleepless in Seattle will love the sweetness of the tale that haunts like a melody that takes a hold of the soul. Add in that alpha Westmoreland style and you get an addictive taste of heaven, that is waiting to be explored. Have been reading Ms. Jackson for years and always loved her books, but I think I've met my match with this heartwarming story of second chances and fairy tale
