No review ;) because I haven't read the book and NG won't let me post this without typing at least 50 words - or was it letters? Ugh. Anyway - loved the excerpt!!!!!

I loved the first two chapters and looking forward to reading the rest of this book.

I received the first couple of chapters of this book and honestly can not wait till the full book releases. Colleen has changed it up with this book but still amazing as always with all of her books. From the little bit i read it grabs you and you cant stop reading

I expect another gripping Collen Hoover´s novel. I can already see myself loving and hating Merit and shipping (wrongly?) her with Sagan (oh, what a perfect name) and will totally buy for myself and make a full review when the books comes. What can you expect in October when the book comes out? Lock yourself and take a much needed me time ´cause you´re gonna need and I already feel my heart ripping and expanding with this book.

So excited that there is another Colleen Hoover book on the way! Just from these first two chapters I can tell it is going to be unlike anything she's written before!

Consider my appetite whetted! From the start, Merit Voss is both weird and relatable at the same time. In the excerpt, we meet Merit and her unusual family. Between their general quirkiness and atypical living arrangement in a remodeled church, I'm already interested in what secrets are hiding behind the facade. What will this family get up to when an eight-foot tall Jesus statue is watching over them? Can't wait to read this one in full, when it comes out 10/3.

Difficult to write a review on an excerpt, but I will say that it has me quite intrigued and looking forward to reading the entire book.

I knew I would regret reading an excerpt of this novel before I could get my hands on the full story. Big mistake. Colleen is a master of pulling a reader in from the first page. I devoured every single word of these first two chapters. Merit is such an unusual character, with her quirky collection of trophys. The first chapter had me hooked and chapter two set the stage for meeting all of her family and their antics. Can't wait to read what awaits in Merit's crazy world.

I cannot wait to read this entire book!!!! This author never disappoints. She has the Midas touch

Good news is that we have yet another Colleen Hoover Masterpiece to read! Bad news is we have to wait another month for it. Wow, just wow, and I was only able to read the first two chapters, which I don't like to do, but when you have an excerpt of a Colleen Hoover book hanging over your head, how can you not read the darn thing,!!!! I cannot wait for this to come out!!!!

I love everything that Colleen Hoover writes. I have read and loved every single one of her books. So for that reason Without Merit was my most anticipated book of 2017. I almost started crying when I received an unexpected copy in my mailbox.
For those who follow Coho on social media she has said that Without Merit is unlike anything that she has ever written. I would agree with that assessment. This book is nothing like any of her other books.
I went into this book completely blind, knowing nothing about the story except for the book's previous title.
This book is a mature Young Adult contemporary novel. The narrator is 17 year old Merit Voss. Merit lives in a small town in Northeast Texas.
The first part of this book was so unusual. So different. So unpredictable. I had no idea where the story was headed. And for someone like me who finds many stories to be fairly predictable this was so fresh, new, and original.
Merit is a very unusual narrator. She is so focused on her own life that she has no clue what is going on around her. Normally Coho heroines are super likable. So this was different too. Merit is spontaneous. She refuses to weigh the consequences of her decisions. She just acts without thinking.
I feel like this book might not be for everyone. It is very different from other Coho books. It deals with some heavier/ difficult topics (view spoiler). This book focuses less on romance than other Coho books. It is YA. And the narrator is less likable.
The town has a negative opinion of the Voss family. I really enjoyed this aspect of the story. Also, every character is different and quirky, which made the story very fun to read.
There are so many unexpected events in this book. It was one unexpected event after another. It was crazy.
Is there romance in Without Merit? Yes there definitely is. But it was not the core focus of the book.
The book deals with some very serious issues. But the book isn't dark. There are so many funny and quirky things about this book. I think that this was the most surprising thing about this story.
For much of the book I honestly could not figure out where the story was headed. Certain things would happen and I would think that meant something. But the book would go in a completely different direction. I absolutely loved that there were so many shocking reveals.
The ending was satisfying. But maybe I wanted more. I think I would have preferred a few more chapters or an epilogue.
Overall, my mind was whirling after reading this book. It is classic Coho in that it is original, fresh, with lots of twists that you won't see coming. But it is also a completely new Colleen Hoover. Maybe after It Ends With Us she wanted to write more meaningful stories. This book is unlike anything that I've ever read before. I will be curious to see if people love this book. I will be curious to see if people love Merit. I will be curious to see what people think of her family and her problems. I will also be curious what people think of the fact that there is romance, but the story isn't 100% focused on the romance.
Colleen Hoover is amazing. Her words are like gold. I am so happy that I got a chance to experience this book.
*P.232 was my favorite thing ever.

This was a great excerpt, except now I wish I could read the whole thing! I'm so fascinated with Merit and her family, a very unique set of characters indeed. I've read all of this author's books and each one is a winner in one way or another, but I always enjoy her teenage characters the most.
And I really liked the dedication at the beginning, because most of the time I don't even notice or remember those. I'm super excited to read Without Merit in its entirety and to add a copy to my shelf.

Only read the first two chapters but Colleen has me hooked already. Can't wait to read it!

I have never read anything by CoHo that I didn't like. Without Merit seems like it may be out of her norm, which makes me that much more excited! This quick sneak peek was just enough to suck you in and I can't wait for the full novel to release!

I AM SHOOKT!!!!!! How? How are you doing this Colleen Hoover??!! Damn another out of this world story. I just read the first two chapters and whew, it consumed my soul right away. That always happens whenever I read a book by this insanely amazing author. I could not even fathom how am I going to take the rest of the book. It is just so ugh I can't even. It's a whole different world. Gah it's making me utterly speechless. I'm just going to stare into the wall until this book releases. Already so many feelings.

I can tell this is going to be a funny and interesting book. I can't wait to read the rest and find out more about the Voss family!

What a treat! The first two chapters of Without Merit!!!! I love it and can't wait for the book to get in my hot little hands!
