This is a really fun sweet romance with fantastic characters and a bit of a mystery you will find yourself not wanting to put this one down, I just loved Ryan and Emma it was fantastic watching them fall for each other and the chemistry they had was so good.A really good read so much more than I thought it would be really well written I cannot wait to try more from Maggie in the future

Ruby's Letters is a well written romance. I thoroughly enjoyed the plot of this book as well as the setting and characters.

this has everything, at times wonderfully romantic, (with the concepts of the ties of soulmates and the threads that tie), creepily atmospheric (Hilary is just plain terrifying and depicted so well that she brings the creepy undertones to the story), strangely suspenseful ( will it ever be found out what happened with the body in the fireplace).
The characters of Emma and Ryan are wonderfully complex and incredibly real. It is easy to relate to them and the horrors that are in both their pasts which make it easy for Hilary to continue her manipulations and corruptions.
The animosities between the two ghosts make for a very real war that the 'human' people have wakened and walked into it.
brilliant.

Emma Hopkins, a recently divorced chimney sweep, takes on a big job in Brooklyn Heights helping to restore an old home. When she knocks down a wall of a bricked up fireplace she discovers a skeleton that's likely been in there since 1888. Of course, while still in shock from the discovery, the general contractor shows up. This was not at all how their first meeting was supposed to go.

Ryan Atkinson is a general contractor. He has just started renovating and restoring an old brownstone, when a chimney sweep he hired finds a skeleton in the fireplace. This is the first job he has taken in Brooklyn Heights in 5 years, he wasn't sure he was ready, now he's sure he wasn't. Work on the project is halted until the cops finish their investigation.

Ruby Van Leer was finally free of the fireplace. Before her death Ruby used a special gift to help unite soul mates. She chooses to stay in the brownstone instead of going into the light upon her release. She wants to help Emma and Ryan. This won't be an easy task though. Ruby is not the only spirit residing in the brownstone. The other spirit, Hilary, has every intention of keeping Emma and Ryan apart.

Ryan and Emma work together to try to piece together who's skeleton they found in the fireplace. They also want to figure out what happened to her that resulted in her being encased in the fireplace. They have many obstacles to overcome, including a malevolent spirit who wants them to leave her house alone.

This book was an incredible read. Trying to solve a murder over 100 years old, overcoming personal loss and tragedy, romance, and ghost hunting all wrapped up in one amazing story. I was so emotionally invested in it that there were times I just wanted to yell at the characters. Tell them things like "open your eyes", "don't be such a fool", or "it's right there". I would highly recommend this book to anyone who likes mysteries, paranormal, or romances.

I received this ARC copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. So thank you netgalley and publishers.
This is a story aboutEmma and Ryan who are working on refinishing an old house. There are good and the bad ghosts, Ruby and Hilary.  Make sure you pay attention to everything or you might get a little lost, at times it was confusing but it all came together at the end. With that being said I don't want to be a spoiler so go read it for yourself. It was interesting, this was my first book from this author, honestly I didn't love it but I didn't hate it either. It was a decent and quick read. 3 stars

It was a great read, when she walks into the house she can feel something is off, and then she finds the letters you must read the book.

An interesting twist on the ghost story. On the one hand, you have Emma and Ryan working on refinishing an old house. Then you have the good and the bad ghosts, of Ruby and Hilary. Overall, it was an interesting story, and the times from then to now, and how the two times inter-mesh were interesting. A little confusing at times though, for example the title made no sense (until the end), and the"rules" known by Emma's wacky neighbor were a little shaky. Not sure if someone who is superstitious is the one to go to for advice, but that is just me. Didn't really seen the need for the side story of Tag either, but again, that may just be me. A good story though, and an enjoyable book. Highly recommend this book and author.
