This book was a fun read about two people who loved each other but had never admitted it. Liam let Angie walk away from them when her visa expired and she had to return to Australia. He felt his career was more important and stayed in London.

Fast forward a year and they are both in Australia but don't know that they are living so close to each other. There is a bunch of misunderstandings and neither one wants to tell the other their feelings. I was kind of annoyed with Angie that she let Liam keep thinking that she had a boyfriend and had moved on. But I also agreed with her when she tried to keep Liam from getting to close - he had already broke her heart and she didn't want to go through that again. I could also understand her hurt that Liam didn't feel like following her when she had to leave but when his Gran called, he moved.

So many cute parts to the story - Liam finding a little puppy that really didn't have a "job" on the farm, and Liam trying to bake the cake was just too funny! I liked that Liam seemed to have matured since the split with Angie, as he sounded kind of selfish when they lived together. He also realized that his career was no as important as Angie and It was great that he followed her when she ran and proposed!!

I loved that she found such a great friend in Lucy and that Lucy and Garth were a big part of the story. I had not read the first book but am now curious about Lucy and Garth's story! It was a great epilogue that sets the next cousin up for the following book.

It's an interesting contemporary romance novel. I enjoyed reading it. All the characters are good too. Although the ending was kind of anti-climatic but overall it's a good read. Anyone who enjoys a good second chance contemporary romance will surely like this book.

Every once in a while, you just need that perfectly sweet romance with amazing characters and heartfelt emotions. Her Outback Surpries gave that and so much more.

Angie and Liam were in love when Angie’s work visa ran out sending her back to Australia and Liam didn’t offer to follow. Liam was fighting for his career and decided to remain behind.

Liam is called back to the family ranch to help his grandparents and cousins. When he runs across a wounded puppy he takes it to the local vet for care only to discover that his lost love, Angie, has purchased his hometown veterinary practice.

Liam thinks Angie is happy and has a boyfriend while Angie thinks Liam didn’t ever feel enough to keep her when she had to return home.

If I had to pick one word to describe this book it would be sweet. It’s the kind of book that left a smile on my face that special feeling that sometimes the HEA is just a page turn away.

Raise your hand high and proud if you love a good second chance romance! Okay, well if your hand is raised, you're simply going to adore Annie Seaton's Her Outback Surprise, a second chance romance featuring an drool-worthy Australian outback setting, an adorable puppy, and two main characters you can't help but like!

Her Outback Surprise features the alternating POVs of Angie Edmonds and Liam Smythe. Angie and Liam used to be in love, but then an expiring work visa had Angie sent back to Australia and Liam refusing to leave his high powered job in London behind. Since then Angie's vowed to never set sights on the man who didn't love her enough to fight for her and Liam's regretted not asking Angie to stay. Complicated, right? What makes it even more complicated, however, is when the two do run into each other all these years later, and Angie mistakenly makes Liam think she's happily engaged when they couldn't be even further from the truth. Now that's a whole new layer of complicated!

From the first page, I was addicted to Angie and Liam's second chance at love. It was not only disastrous and awkward but also outright charming. Angie and Liam had more miscommunication and mixed signals than most people have in a lifetime, and while at times I was left screaming "just tell the truth!!" it provided enough drama as well as suspense to have me hooked all the way through. I especially loved the chemistry Angie and Liam had. No matter how much the two of them tried to fight it there was just something about about them that worked and made complete sense.

I also came to like Angie and Liam as the novel progressed. Both were so incredibly bull-headed, which was partly to blame for all of their issues, but they are also caring, compassionate, and loving. One of the best transformations that occurred regarding Angie's character was her finally finding a family. I just loved seeing this girl who hasn't had a "home" in years finally begin to find one in Liam's mismatched yet lovable family. Liam, on the other hand, evolved form the typical businessman to just the regular old countryman, and I also enjoyed seeing that transition occur, especially when it involved him falling in love with a little puppy.

The only aspect I didn't enjoy like about Her Outback Surprise was the lack of a true connection to the characters. Don't get me wrong, I liked both Angie and Liam and I rooted for them, but I never really got to know them on a deeply personal ground...I wanted to know more about how they first feel in love, Angie's job as a Vet, Angie's complicated family life, Liam's involvement with the town's environmental issues, etc. I feel that if all these issues were dug deeper into not only would the characters have been more well rounded but the overall storyline would be as well.

In all, while I craved for a stronger connection, Her Outback Surprise is still a sweet novel, and honestly sometimes all you need is a book that leaves you with a smile all the way through!

Everything in Angie Edmonds life is perfectly content, she has a job she loves, a home in a town she loves, and a peaceful life she loves... then Liam Smythe happens. As soon as he walks through her vet clinic door her heart skips a beat, he is just as gorgeous as he was when he was hers, but she isn't about to let him see that he still has that effect on her, he broke her heart and she is determined to not let it happen again. So she tells him a little white lie in hopes it will keep him at a distance and her heart intact...

Liam Smythe never expected to run into Angie again, and now that he has he can't seem to get her off of his mind, she is just as beautiful as she always was, and he can't help but get a little caught up in the memories of their past. She was the one he let slip away, and he'd give anything to have a second chance with her... problem is he just found out her heart belongs to someone else. Or does it?

Her Outback Surprise is a charming little read that is sure to leave readers heart overflowing and have them smiling... I know I am! This was my first visit to the series, and I have to say I really enjoyed my visit, the story line was filled with moments that made me smile, moments that made me tear up and moments that made me blush... it was such a great read! The story line was engaging, the characters were well drawn, and the setting was blissful, at times I literary felt like I was there! Highly recommend this sweet little read, it's sure to take you on a enjoyable literary escape!

This is my first Annie Seaton book, and I really enjoyed it. I don't find many romance stories that don't have a good dose of hot steamy sex that keep my interest, so I was pleasantly surprised when I got to the end of Her Outback Surprise. Loved Liam and Ange as a couple, the chemistry was definitely there, they just had to come clean with it. Willow was adorable. I think the book could have had less of the continual repeating of what went on between them in London, that definitely got old, but overall I really enjoyed it. Loved the ending, actually brought a tear to these old eyes, very romantic, really pulled at the heartstrings for me. Liked that the author put the Glossary of Australian Terms in the book so you could refer to it to find out the little references to words we here in the states haven't heard of, but would have liked to see that in the front of the book instead of the back. Will definitely read Jemima's story when it comes out.

I received a copy of this book for an honest review.

I am tired of books where the entire conflict is based on assumptions and could be solved by the two main characters having a ten minute conversation. I found most things about this book under developed but it was a fast read and I weirdly enjoy reading books set in Australia.

This book starts out with the heartbreak of Angie and Liam's relationship ending when she must head back to Australia and he stays in London. Well over a year later we catch up with this two who are now- unbeknownst to both of them- living in the same town. Angie is the local vet and Liam is rescuing a pup and needs help- well shocked is the least you could say about this encounter.

While Angie is still stewing in her hurt and anger that she wasn't enough for Liam to either love or make the bold step and choose her and going home to Australia over a big job and London, Liam is hurt and disappointed that Angie moved on so quickly and is living with a man. But you know what they say about assuming things... Every time Angie tries to let Liam know that she was at a friend's house and the boyfriend belongs to that friend she is interrupted. But really, she thinks it probably doesn't matter because she will never be enough for Liam and he is quickly headed back out of town in a few weeks.

Liam can't get over his attraction to Angie and realizes that he probably let the best thing ever go when he didn't follow Angie home or at least tell her loved her. How can he get her to trust him, his word and his love? It's a tall order to fill when he still thinks she has a boyfriend. Navigating around each other and finally finding their true north was very entertaining and heartwarming.

This was a good read. I missed out on the first book in this series and it says a lot about how good a book is when you want to go back and read the others in the series- Lucy and Garth's story. Looking forward to the other books in this series.
