This book may be the second in a series, but it has lost none of the punch and intensity of the first book. Ms. Wyatt and Ms. St. George take their readers again into the world of MMA fighting. Their stories tell us what it is really like for the fighters in this league and how hard they have to train to make it to the top. This story tells us what fighters can escape in the ring.
Gabe Maddox is running from his past. Being in the ring allows him to forget his guilt, grief and pain. He can focus on just the fight. When he meets Megan Sinclair, she challenges his self-imposed isolation. Gabe has used women in the past for sex. They have all understood that it was a one night thing that meant nothing and were able to move on. He has never been tempted to get to know the women or to talk to them. With Megan, Gabe wants to know all and is willing to risk almost anything to have her.
Megan Sinclair doesn’t know what it is about Gabe that draws her so strongly. It might be his take charge attitude or his piercing blue eyes, but whatever it is, she can’t resist. Megan is a reporter doing a series of stories on the MMA. She knows that Gabe is hiding something, but isn’t sure what or how to get him to talk to her.
The sexual tension between Megan and Gabe sizzles off the page. Readers will feel the heat. The sex scenes in this book hold nothing back. They are descriptive and definitely include some bondage and submission.
This book adds to the story told in the first book in the series, but you do not have to read them in order or together to understand the world that Ms. Wyatt and Ms. St. George are describing. They give their readers plenty of background on MMA fighting and how the organization of this particular group is run.
I think my favorite thing about this book is the backgrounds of both Megan and Gabe. They are struggling to move on after some earth-shattering events. The events could have left each of them drowning in despair and yet, they are survivers who are working at being better every day.

Take Down (Blood and Glory, #2)
by Harper St. George, Tara Wyatt
These two authors do not pull their punches. This book takes a one two strike at the audience. Gabe is a heavy belt champion in the MMA league. He has been single and driven by his past. Megan is the writer that is publishing an article for Mosaic that wants to cover the new league bring notoriety to the fight arena. They started with a no strings attached relationship, just exploring and learning, to only evolve into a new life, a new direction, and to full fill all that they long for. Very erotic.
I will post this on amazon and barnes and noble when i am allowed by their system

Gabriel “The Sandman” Maddox does his best work in the octagon, and every once in a while he puts his skills to use in the bedroom too... for a little strings free fun. After a life changing accident he decided that he could never give his heart to another woman again, knowing it could never handle another heartbreaking loss... so he keeps his entanglements with women strictly on a one night basis. But then Megan wanders into his life, and suddenly one night doesn't seem to be enough anymore...

When Megan Sinclair signs on to interview the men from the WFC for Mosaic she finds her story, and a whole lot more... a sexy something more! Meeting Gabe was so unexpected, he's everything she knows she should avoid, but her head and her heart aren't agreeing on this one... one little kiss and she knows she can't walk away. He informs her that he is only in it for one night, but something tells her that one night isn't going to be enough!

Take Down is an erotic little page-turner that will leave your mind riddled with naughty thoughts and your heart overflowing with love for a certain sexy fighter! I knew the moment I met Gabe in the first installment that he was going to be a force to be reckoned with, and WOW! was I right, the man was seriously something else!!! He was all alpha, but hidden amongst all his bravado was a softer side, one that took some time to lure out, but definitely worth the struggle. I loved meeting these two, their beautifully crafted story came with lots of ups and downs that toyed with my emotions, and lots of steamy moments that left my toes curled, and had my tablet overheating! I am really enjoying this series, it has a perfect balance of sports and romance... I'm dying to get my hands on the next one and have the opportunity to get up close and personal with the WFC's privileged playboy Leandro Oliveira!!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this title.

This was such a good read and my first by these two authors. Super sexy! The story has a nice flow to it and is so well written. It took me on an emotional ride, which I just love in a romance. I would definitely read more from them. Our H/h Gabe and Megan have phenomenal chemistry!! They're just so real and really likable characters, nothing better than that. I am a huge sports romance fan and love MMA books and this one was well worth the read. I look forward to more from them.

I received an ARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Wow! A sexy, brooding Alpha MMA champion meets a journalist writing a series of articles about the organization he fight for. The chemistry is intense & more than he normally feels. She's attracted to him but isn't sure she wants to get involved. They both have secrets in their pasts that have them cautious & not wanting to risk their hearts. Very hot, steamy sex scenes with some mild BDSM. Loved it!

She was the light to his darkness. Her smile brighten up the dark days that consumed him. Gabe was hesitant to bring her into his world. His need for control. And submitting to his every deman was something he feared Megan couldn’t handle. She soothed the tattered remains of his soul allowing him to finally feel complete.

Started off good for me. I liked the tension and build up of Gabriel “The Sandman” Maddox and Megan Sinclair. But, the it went downhill for me with the back and forth. His dominating was a little over the top. Turned me off to the whole book.

Gabe is a man who doesn't share, “you want to learn and explore, we can do that, but while we’re doing that, you’re mine, and only mine.” Gabe is a greedy man, “no more touching yourself unless I tell you to. Your orgasms belong to me now.” I liked this book, I fell in love with Gabe he was such a dominant man.

"All your training builds to this one moment where you're not simply a human anymore. That all falls away and what you're left with is a single-minded purpose. To be the best, to beat the other guy, to vanquish your opponent. To be victorious, at any cost. In that moment in the cage, nothing else matters."

"He liked the idea or her belonging to him. It fed something primal inside him that he hadn't even know existed."

"Somehow she'd found something in him worth loving. He wanted to be that man for her. He didn't know if it was possible, but, after living in survival mode all this time, it was a start."

Fun, Sexy and a whole lot of Thrilling! Take Down is fast paced and the story sucks you in from the very first page. I fell in love with Gabe and Megan instantly and was excited to see how their story would go. I am a total sucker for those sex only arrangements that you know will turn into more. I love a good second chance romance and this one kept me glued to the pages.

Take Down is very well written and very hard to put down. Gabe and Megan gave me a run for my money. I was totally intrigued by both of them. They were both haunted by demons of the past and were both broken by things they could not change...The chemistry between Gabe and Megan was intense and just begged to be explored. There was so much more to these characters than meets the eye and they both had so much to give if only they'd be willing to open themselves up to more. I enjoyed watching Gabe and Megan navigate their way through all the things. Their push and pull led to some seriously sexy moments and some delicious angst.

Overall, I really enjoyed Take Down. This story intrigued me, captivated me and kept me begging for more. I enjoyed the plot and fell in love with the characters. Overall a terrific read and very enjoyable second chance romance. This is my first book by this duo and look forward to checking out more from them in the future.

WOW! What a terrific read! It was a hot, sexy passionate read. I loved this book. This story sucked me in from the beginning, I couldn't put it down. The characters were written, they were complex, believable, and likable. The chemistry between Gabe and Megan was off the charts. I felt so many emotions while this story. I smiled, laughed and teared up while reading.

Despite being part of a series, Take Down can be read as a standalone. I can't wait until the next installment. This is a must read for anyone the enjoys Sports Romance.
