I loved Xander & Kylie's book. It was a romantic, fun book that gave me all the feels. Love Xander. I got a copy of the book. And am voluntarily leaving my review.

I had a really hard time getting through this book. I felt like the characters weren't fleshed out or needed more complexity. I just couldn't connect with them at all. This is a New Adult Romance and of course with that comes more immature characters and decisions. This one definitely had that. The characters about drove me nuts with their immaturity. After reading this book I may need to stick to Adult romance altogether. I must not have the patience for immature characters anymore.

ARC received for review

I haven't read the first book, but it's not necessary to enjoy this one.

NA novel with a former player Xander who turned sweet trying to make everything perfect for his girl Kylie. He was a little wishy-washy in his feelings as he he moved from man whore to a one woman guy. She's not had an easy life, and it just gets harder as the book goes on. Great little hook-up with their bffs.

For those who've read the first book Tanner and Jules make several appearances. I look forward to big brother Ryder's HEA.

Kylie’s first meeting with Xander was something she would never forget. Total embarrassment of that lasting first impression would set the cornerstone of their relationship. Xander is amazed that Kylie always keeps him on his toes and she makes him laugh. He needs to focus on turning his academic goals around and with Kylie by his side he feels that measure of success, the things that used to hold his attention no longer matter. Will Kylie be able,to,leave her past behind that consistently throws her off balance? A great book with characters that balance one another out.

I had to continually remind myself that the characters in Chasing Xander were still pretty much kids, so as to not let myself get too annoyed. And yet, I still got pretty annoyed because Kylie and Xander were so immature that I really felt like I was reading YA rather than NA.

Kylie is a brand new freshman moving into her dorm when she meets Xander, a junior. Their unfortunate meeting involved her underwear and tampons spilling out onto the ground and Xander um, "helping" her pick them back up. Cue the adorable (not) meet-cute awwws (not) and Kylie getting busted by Xander later that day telling her best friend how hot the guy was who "helped" her pick up her stuff. What follows is Kylie chasing (hence the title) Xander and him denying he had feelings for her. It was like the little girl who chases the little boy around the schoolyard and cries when he hits her in the way little boys do when they like a girl but don't know how to act around her. When they finally do get together, it's very late in the story, and I felt all the back and forth up to that point was unnecessary and them getting together was kind of anticlimactic.

While I don't dislike Xander, I did find that he was a fairly stereotypical college guy - a player clear up until he met Kylie, who fought his feelings, not wanting to acknowledge them. He showed some depth when he opted to drive Kylie to her grandmother's funeral rather than go to class, knowing it would probably result in him getting kicked out of his frat and would further hurt his academic standing. But, generally speaking, he was fairly one note and not that interesting. And then there's Kylie. Oh God. She bugged me. She was definitely a young freshman. Her maturity level felt more like a high schooler, a young high schooler, than a college freshman, though. She was whiny, needy, insecure and very unappealing.

Chasing Xander is a very juvenile, immature NA piece of fiction. It read more YA than NA and I didn't really connect with or like either character all that much. If you don't mind college students acting more like high schoolers, then Chasing Xander may be your thing. I prefer my NA characters to be a little more mature, though, so I just couldn't connect with or like Chasing Xander.

Thank you Entangled: Embrace for providing an ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

After Trusting Tanner, I crossed my fingers this one will be better and unfortunately, it's another let down. Chasing Xander is about Junior college student Xander Collins (Ryder & Tanner's youngest brother) and Freshman college student, Kylie Quinn . These two met in an embarrassing moment when Kylie accidentally dropped a box of her personal belongings as she moved in her new dormitory with her best friend, Celeste and Xander helped picking up her undergarments.

The attraction between began as they spend more time together and exchanged flirtatious banters. However, things are complicated as they're dealing with personal issues: Kylie having an alcoholic father and her grandmother Nammy Joyce, whom she considered her only family resides at a nursing home. Her father causing a lot of trouble and demanding money is her mental baggage. As for Xander, he failed classes and must repeat in order to graduate. He's also in trouble of getting kick out of the frat house.

These are the things that made me lower my rating from three stars to two stars:
- The book unnecessarily dragged on. There are scenes that I find less important and I wish it focused more on the conflict.
- Kylie becomes too demanding and pessimistic. She easily gets disappointed when Xavier does not meet her wants. Xander has other priorities that needs to be attended and I don't like she assumes worst things about him. That's unfair on his part.
- Xander may be a good guy but I also have issues with him. He's a coward for not being upfront to Kylie about his issues and I don't like him leading her on.

Overall, the good thing in this book was everything was resolved in the end. No loopholes or whatsoever. I have no issues with the author's writing style. I thought it's good and easy to get into. I'm just not sure if I'll still read Ryder's story. I guess this series isn't for me.

DNF 5%.

The characters were too immature for me to relate to. I couldn't get into this book at all.

I loved loved loved Kylie and Xander in this book! I loved getting to know the two of them and their story. I have decided I need to go back and read the first book in this series too. Not sure how I missed it. This author will always be a one click for me. If you love good stories that pull you in, this book is for you.

Xander was going across campus when while carrying boxes into the dorm with her best friend Celeste from home. Kylie trips and the box she dropped had underwear in it and was right near Xander.Kylie is really embarrassed as she picks up her undergarments then Xander questions Kylie on her choice of underwear. And she goes to head for the dorm again and Xander tells her his name and she just tells him her first name- Kylie. Kylie wanted to get away from home to go to college to get away from her absentee abusive alcoholic father. Kylie’s mother had died when she was young and she had been raised by her grandmother who was now in a nursing home with Alzheimer's disease. Kylie and Celeste had agreed to do the college thing together. Kylie is on an academic scholarship for college.Kylie and Celeste are in the dining room, hall when Xander and his best friend Finn walks in. Xander and finn are in a fraternity but Xander is on probation because of his poor academics the year before and he has to repeat his classes form the year before. Xander comes from a rich family and Xander's father had said if he didn't straighten out and concentrate on his studies Xanders trust fund would be cut off. Xander and Finn went up to Kylie and Celeste and the dining hall. There is something about Kylie that draws Xander to her. Xander really likes Kylie and goes slow plus she is still a virgin and he really doesn’t want to deal with that.Kylie is very attracted to xander. Also Kylie was the first girl who seemed to like Xander for himself. Kylie is notified that her grandmother has died and Celeste and Kylie get in a huge fight but Kylie doesn’t have the money to go home for the funeral. Then Xander takes it on himself to take Kylie to her grandmother's funeral. Xander was going to stay in a motel but Kylie doesn’t want to stay alone in the house her grandmother had already given to her. Before the funeral Kylie had a run in with her father. Xander and Kylie were going to leave after the funeral but the lawyer told Kylie he had some stuff to go over with her on the will that couldn’t be done until Friday. Xander is suppose to leave friday to fly to N Y for his mother's birthday.
I really enjoyed reading this book it made me laugh at times. I liked the twists in this story. I loved Xander and Kylie together. This had a good plot but it did drag some for me at times but not enough for me to give up on the book. I loved the growth in xander shown throughout this book. I also loved that Xander took Kylie back to Ohio for her grandmother's funeral. I really didn’t like Kylie’s father. He needed to get out of her life and stay out of it. I thought this was a well written book. There was chemistry between Kylie and xander right away and I liked this as they didn’t rush into anything. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend.

OK, first of all, I'M SO MAD. This had the potential to be a great comedy, like I saw in the first 20% of the book. Then the hot and cold thing arrives. And if that wasn't enough, he starts making a huge deal out of her being a virgin. WTF.
The worst thing is he doesn't even just cut ties with her, no. He strings her along for more than half book. Then, guess what? He's all why don't you come meet my family, even though there's this weird ambience between us? It'll make it SO much better!

Those things aside, the writing's fine and the situations rom-com funny. Also, Kylie's grandma makes her much more relatable and gave her a three dimensional feeling.

This is the second book in this series by this author. This book can be read as a stand alone read. This is a fun and sexy read from this author. Very well developed characters, they had fantastic banter between them. The story flowed really well and was very believable. I can't wait to read more from this author and to go back and read the other books in this series.
Highly recommended

Lexi Lawton is a new author to me so I'm always a little skeptical because I'm a creature of habit, but the cover is niiiiice, so I figure, sure.  Kylie's moving to college and of course to start her first day off right her personals (granny panties and thongs) go all over the lawn. Enter sexy Xander. Kylie is a virgin but she's ready for Xander to show her some moves. Because Xander had a past issue with a girl and now he wants to take things slow with Kylie, so he's not really rushing to take her V card.  As life starts to blow up in his world Xander will have to try to figure out if he can make things work or will Kylie be left behind.   The sparks between these two fly right away with the banter being cute, fun and sexy.  I love the college romance! Xander is sexy sweet and Kylie is a great balance for him! This is a must read!

This was a very enjoyable story and I really liked the characters and the writing. It is a very young new adults. As in Kylie is 18 and a VIRGIN. Xander is kinda immature at 21. Last year he partied too much and this year he must get better grades.

The two meet as Kylie moves into her dorm. She thinks X is into her. But he never seems to follow thru and I felt very frustrated by that, as did Kylie. However once she tells X she is a virgin, it causes him to start running. Personally I wanted to Kylie to start dating someone else so he'd get a clue.

Then tradegy hits and does he come thru for Kylie? Well I am not spoiling.

I was at times frustrated with pace and heat in the story but I really did like the authors plot and writing.

in spite of its title, chasing xander, is not really about a romantic chase, because kylie and xander spend little time running away from their romance.

when kylie quinn drops her underwear and other unmentionables in front of xander collins as she moves into her freshman dorm room she is beyond embarrassed. the last thing she expects is to keep running into him or for him to seek her out.

xander is ridiculously attractive and genuinely kind, and is an upperclassman to boot. so she can't figure out why he wants to spend anytime with her. she's just an incoming freshman with an alcoholic and abusive father and the grandmother who raised her who is in the last stages alzheimer's. but it is actually quite simple, there is something about kylie that keeps xander intrigued. she's the first girl who seems to like him, for just him. not his money, not what he can do for her. and this makes him willing to do anything for her.

xander wants to make sure he treats kylie with the respect and tenderness he feels she deserves, and this means holding back from just giving into the passion that sparks between them. he wants her beyond measure, but he doesn't want her to regret anything that might happen between them. he's already been with someone like that and it was the worst experience of his life.

though it takes a while for them to communicate openly about their feelings, it's pretty evident from the get-go that kylie and xander are headed for something serious. when kylie experiences the worst kind of loss, xander is there for her in a way that shows how highly he regards her. he'd put his academic career, his fraternity standing, his trust fund at risk for kylie. that's some pretty heavy stuff. and i will say that the one thing i wish we had a glimpse of, was how things turn out for xander. i mean considering it's a romance, it should all end happily, but xander had really backed himself into a pretty tight corner so more resolution would have been reassuring.

Excellent read! I really enjoyed Kylie and Xander's story. The pace of the story was just a little slow for me but overall I found it very entertaining. The characters were well developed and the writing is good. Overall a great read.

Xander and Kylie meet on Kylie's first day on campus in a bit of an embarrassing moment. After a bad year last year Xander really needs to stay focused on his grades but he can't stay away from Kylie. She settles him. When she really needs him he has to make a choice, be there for her or stay at school to make his father and frat president happy. No brainer, he'll deal with the fallout when it happens.

This is a book i definitely recommend.

It was a good read, not great in my opinion but good. The characters are well developed and have a great sense of who they are. Also great was the fact that the relationship developed and was not rushed - that I really liked.

Also good for me that that The hero and heroine did not rush the sexual aspects of this budding relationship - thank you for that.

**I was provided a ebook copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I always go into these romance stories expecting to be swept away into this great story where I get to witness two people fall in love. This is, after all, why I love the romance genre.

But sometimes I get beginnings like that of this story. Beginnings that are what we can call, Insta-love. Kylie and Xander meet each other on the first day of college (for Kylie, anyhow), and the attraction is definitely there. Nothing wrong with that, of course. But it doesn't take long (the same day?) for Xander to think that Kylie is "different". I'm not sure how he comes to this conclusion as he knows absolutely nothing about her, except that she tends to be klutzy around him.

We find out that each have their own problems: Kylie is still dealing with the consequences of moving away from her alcoholic father, and Xander is currently under academic probation, and might be kicked out of his fraternity house if he doesn't improve.

Sadly, that's where my interest in this story ended. The dialogue between the characters falls flat, and I felt none of the attraction or intensity either character is supposedly feeling about the other. I grew quickly tired of all the characters in this story that fell flat in just the first 20% of it.

If you enjoy New Adult books, this may be one you can enjoy. I, however, did not want to spend any more time on it.

I am fairly new to this author and after reading this book I have become a fan forever. The storyline pulls you in straight away and has you flying through the story.....plus staying up we’ll pass my bedtime lol I throughly enjoyed every minute of this story and definitely plan to read more of her books in the very near future. Would highly recommend

After reading the blurb I was excited to read this book, but it failed to live up to my expectations. I didn't like either of the characters. They were both immature, and not in the way college students are. I end d up skimming the second half because I couldn't take the whining and repetitive issues. Not a winner for me.
