Starts strong then falters when the author shifts focus from the theme to autobiographical confessional about his relationship with his mother. Read my full review here: http://readrunwrite.com/2018-week-ten/

Daemon Fairless is a man who seeks to understand the inherent inner violence present in many men. He uses his journalistic perspective and academic skills to explore the genetic, biological, emotional and socialization components which foster aggression and the need to physically dominate. This may sound like a boring academic treatise but it is instead quite fascinating. He discusses academic research but combines this with case studies and personal exploration of his own struggles with physical aggression. All in all, this is a very interesting and well-written book. I recommend it.

My thanks to NetGalley for providing me with an eARC in exchange for my honest review.
