Love this one, but I love all of Cindi Madsen's romances.

A home renovation reunites Jackson and Ivy. Can they make it working near each other without falling in love, again? If only they could be honest about who fell in love first. 

Will they finally admit their feelings and finish their project? Will they nail the home renovation and build something to last forever.

Well written and an enjoyable story. I really enjoyed reading this book and look forward to reading more by this author.

Nailed It has amusing characters that has great chemistry. The book itself was okay. 

There were parts of the book that were very drawn out. I couldn't read this book in one or two settings, it took awhile to get through it. The drawn out parts made me lose my interest in the book. I prefer books that have more interaction between the characters. 

When the main characters did interact or talk with each other, the book is great and amusing. 

Ivy Clarke is stubborn, set in her ways, and quick-witted. I loved Ivy's comebacks and wit. Her doubt in love and herself made me frustrating, although it makes sense with how she grew up with her mother. 

Jackson Gamble is patient when it comes to Ivy and can be just as witty. He's supportive and willing to take chances. He helps out Ivy even when he doesn't have to. I loved Jackson's and Ivy's banter. Even with being the main characters of the book, I still wish there was more of them together.

As soon as I saw the author's name, I was sure that I wanted to read the book. And then the blurb was interesting enough to want me to commit to the story.

The starting was intriguing with the way Ivy and Jackson were butting heads. But the story was slow in forming into the rest of the tale. It took me a while to get into the flow. Sometimes, Ivy irked me with her actions. I kind of understood her reasons but still she was too much against love!

Then it picked up a bit with the banter between the pair and the hide and seek they were playing with their close ones and themselves which ultimately culminated into THE declaration by Jackson at his parents'. The romance was super hot though both the protagonists were stubborn. I liked Jackson better, way better with his way of dealing with Ivy and his steadfast strength in his love. I wasn't much into Ivy and it changed only a tiny bit towards the end.

The ending was swoon worthy though Ivy's rules and her sudden change nearly gave me whiplash. I can't say I loved the book but it was read-able and I enjoyed parts of it. In truth I expected more from a Cindi Madsen book!

A book that combines a few of my favorite things - romance - humor - and HGTV like settings - I was in from the synopsis.  

Ivy's got it in her head to avoid commitments because of her mother's behavior as she grew up - it left a lot to be desired and not just as a relationship role model.  When Ivy discovers her home is up for sale - she's determined to fix it and flip it and she's hoping to find some peace while she does. But one thing Ivy didn't expect - just how hard fixing the house up would be. When her BFF sends help in the form of her brother - things are about to get a little more unexpected. 

Nailed it was full of humor and charm, a story that grabbed and held my attention, left me laughing, sighing and swooning. It was the perfect blend of drama and sass, swoon and steam with just the right amount of everything else to make it a well rounded story.

I just loved Ivy and Jackson 's book they way these two argue and snipe at each other has me laughing out loud these two have not gotten along since they had a week-long affair that ended badly when Ivy got scared about her developing feeling for him.When Ivy buys the home of the woman who helped raise her she realizes she has bitten off more than she can handle so her friend ropes Jackson in to help.I just loved these two he was such a good guy and I loved how patient he was with her they were just great together a fantastic read you don't want to miss this one.

Nailed It by Cindi Madsen is a cute, fun and quick read. The writing pulls you in and the author pens memorable characters.
I was so drawn in by the idea of the DIY house flip fix-up. Had to try it. Our heroine Ivy is post-college but not sure how to use her degree. She’s got childhood issues and mommy issues that make her a commitment phobe. Now she’s found passion in the idea of flipping a house badly in need of renovation, but ding-ding-ding: those TV shows lied on how easy everything was to get done. A call to her best friend ends up with said friend’s brother, a sexy contractor, stepping in to help. Enter Jackson (drum roll). I liked this character. He’s patient, putting up with a lot from Ivy (there’s a lot of hot and cold coming from this woman toward him). They’ve got some history. Overall, I liked how their relationship unfolded.

Nailed It is sweet, funny and sexy.

Ivy and Jackson are sort of frenemies, rivals, what have you. He's her best friend's brother and her one time thing. Her one time for a week thing. But now they're back to taking jabs at each other and generally behaving like little boys and girls who claim they don't like each other, but really do. Ivy is a commitment phobe, thanks to the less than stable way her mother raised her. No matter that her best friend is a dating coach and believes in happily ever afters, Ivy is strictly about sex, no relationships, no relying on men (or anyone) for anything. But, she's decided to flip the home she had her best memories in, and she needs Jackson's help to do so. Not that she asked him for help. No, his sister strong armed him into it and he's doing Ivy a favor. And it's a good thing, if they can get past their animosity and work together.

I loved Ivy and Jackson's banter. It was funny, snarky and witty. Their back and forth, wishy washy, should we or shouldn't we, nonsense, drove me nuts, though! Especially Ivy's. I wanted to smack her a few (many) times and tell her to get her head out of her behind and take a good look at the man in front of her, who was offering her everything she wanted and needed. I understood why she was the way she was, but still, it was really frustrating and annoying. Other than that, though, Nailed It was everything a good romance should be - 2 people with chemistry to spare, lots of naughtiness, and loads of fun.

Ivy and Jackson's story--finally!

In many ways, this book was absolutely worth the wait--I loved Ivy and Jackson together. When they were getting along and even when they weren't, it was a lot of fun to read their back-and-forth banter. (Jackson's morning coffee messages were some of my favorite bits! So adorable.) Ivy had some major issues to work through, though (and Jackson has the patience of a saint, fortunately) which made the romance of this book move at about the same pace as Savannah and Linc's ( 12 Steps to Mr. Right ); in other words, agonizingly slow at times, because did I mention Ivy's issues? Once again. I really think being able to see Jackson's side of things would have  alleviated some of the frustration of reading--over and over again--about how Ivy just doesn't believe in love all the while she's (wait for it!) falling in love with Jackson.

So, yeah. Parts toward the middle had me feeling a bit stabby toward our heroine, but like in Savannah's book, a fabulous ending made up for so much of what had come before. I almost don't remember the aggravating bits ;)

Plus, Black Widow and Loki. And a reading nook not always used for reading. There's pretty much nothing else I need. Well, maybe some man glitter...

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC for Netgalley.

First, I want to say that I enjoy reading Cindi Madsen.  I've found her books to be entertaining, funny and insightful.  With that being said, this book just didn't do it for me.  IMO there was just too much redundancy.  About a 1/4 of the book could've been deleted and you still would've had a good novel.  (Was she getting paid by the word?)  Instead, my mind wandered because I just wasn't feeling it.  The repetition was irritating me until finally I finished and was glad, but not because I found it to be an exceptional book.

Don't get me wrong.  I will read more Cindi Madsen because I like her writing that much.  I just hope it's like her older books that I've read and so enjoyed.

Eh...this book was just okay for me.  I admit there were parts I skimmed because they were just drawn out and boring.  Overall the story wasn't bad; a cute story about how a girl who fears commitment falls for her best friend's brother.  

As I said some parts were drawn out, paragraph after paragraph of internal dialogue where Ivy recounts her past over and over again. Since she had known Jackson for years he obviously knew much of this which is why the author didn't have you learn of her past through dialogue between the two characters.  That said, this was an incredibly boring way to read about it.

It had potential...unfortunately it fell short for me.

Ivy has rules.  Rules that keep her from falling in love and getting her heart broken again.  There is only one man that she has come close to breaking those rules with since she set them & that is her best friend’s brother Jackson.  Jackson and Ivy have an interesting relationship and when Ivy randomly decides to start renovating the closest thing she has to a childhood home, she ends up relying on Jackson’s help for the majority of the project.  The more time she spends in his presence the more she realizes that she should stick to her rules because her heart is in danger of falling for this wonderful man.  

I loved the chemistry that Ivy and Jackson had in this book.  They just clicked so well together and very early in the book we suspect that they are going to end up together, we just sit and wait for them to realize it themselves.  Those are some of the best books, in my opinion.  The heroine is sassy and so independent - I strive to be like her in some ways, not all - and the Hero was swoon worthy and gave back just as good as he got.  This was the first Cindi Madsen book I’ve read but I loved every page and can’t wait to see what else is coming.

Nailed It was a really good read. I especially liked Jackson, he was thoughtful, caring, determined and patient.... oh so very patient when it came to the gal he had his heart set on, he was hardworking, loved is family (when they weren’t interfering in his life and trying to set him up with potential girlfriends) and an overall really great guy. 
Ivy, oh Ivy... she was funny, determined, hellishly stubborn and for a good part of the book I wanted to throttle her!! Yeah, she’s watched her mum fall in and out of love and witnessed how that led to her ignoring everyone and everything around her whenever she was involved with a guy, but jeez... she was kinda too much when she was internally reminding herself why something between her and Jackson, in her opinion, could never work. I honestly kept telling her she needed therapy (yeah, talking I was seriously talking to a book character)!! Even with all of that I did kinda like her character.

I loved the banter and snark between this pair, especially as they got into more of a ‘relationship’ and seeing them get to know and understand each other was good. Their chemistry and attraction was evident and didn’t diminish regardless of how much Ivy tried to kibosh things between them. 

There was a cast of supporting characters that I liked, well, except for Ivy’s mum - who I wanted to smack whenever she appeared! I have to admit that I’ve got, but haven’t yet read, 12 Steps To Mr. Right the first book in this series by Cindi Madsen but I’m definitely gonna go back and read Savannah & Linc’s story even though we know how things have worked out for them! 

A solid 4* read for me.

I’m obsessed with this book. So good! At first I was skeptical but by the fourth chapter I was hooked, would totally recommend this to any reader out there who likes a good romance.

So this blurb attracted me to this, love flip shows on HGTV and the like. Funny thing is our heroine Ivy must think copying those shows must be easy. Those are the ones I feel like deserve a face palm or two.  While she does ask help from Jackson, her best friend's brother, these two snap at each other so much. Although they seemed to get along in the bed room before heh. But still kept on and was interested enough with the renovate parts  

So Ivy had a bad example of relationships from her making her this commitment phobe. Does it warrant her hot and cold nature? Or her spiels of inner monologue. I kinda had to fast forward those bits after a while. She seemed likable but there were moments she frustrated me. She wanted to overcome her fears and she did struggle a lot with that.

While the slowly developing relationships are great for me this one didn't get me. This hero is one patient guy and seemed pretty solid. I liked he knew his stuff and he had his swoon worthy moments. I actually enjoyed Jackson and his sister Savanna's relationship more. He certainly needed more spotlight here I think.

I didn't feel any connection between the main characters sadly. As much as I tried, usually with these trope of hate love / enemies to lovers there's something underlying between barbs. Here some banter was cute but felt a bit much at times, romance wise not bad towards the end. The more steamier scenes are fade to black but not to say there isn't. This story had.lots of appeal to me but I felt like I wasn't as drawn in as I hoped. It had some angst and humor which balanced out.

Received an ARC at no cost to author, for my voluntary review.  So this was a cute, funny, sexy book. The heroine had a commitment phobia , so the relationship was slow going. I enjoyed Jackson, he qas lovingly pafient. funny, sexy and sweet slow-burn about a commitment phobe heroine and a delicious and determined yet incredibly patient hero.  He was boyfriend material  I would graphics him. Ivy could annoy you, with her flip flop attitude, make a decision and stick with it, and enjoy and have fun.
