I loved Ivy and Jackson in 12 Steps to Mr. Right so I was so excited to read their story!!

Ivy and Jackson seem to not get along at all. The secret is that they had a short fling and haven't been able to be in the same room together since. When Ivy learns that the woman who helped raise her is selling her home and it needs a lot of renovations, she decides to take on the project herself. Watching home improvement shows on HGTV means that you can renovate an entire house right? When she realizes that she's bitten off way more than she can chew, her best friend enlists Jackson to help.

Ivy and Jackson have off the charts chemistry and I was rooting for them from the very first page. Jackson is patient and so committed to changing Ivy's mind about having a full relationship. Ivy is fiercely independent and I loved getting to know her better. This story was quick, fun, and insanely entertaining. I couldn't put it down but I never wanted it to end.

Nailed It was my first novel by Cindi Madsen and I really liked her writing style. I was excited about this storyline because it sounded unique and not like any I had read before. Unfortunately it wasn't what I expected or hoped it would be.

The storyline and characters were alright, but I couldn't relate or connect with them. There wasn't enough background on Jackson and Ivy's previous relationship, and it felt like something was missing throughout the entire novel. I wished the story had been told from both Jackson and Ivy's POV, instead of just Ivy's. I actually liked Jackson more than I did Ivy. She was argumentative and annoying a lot of the time, and her view on love and relationships was very frustrating. I honestly couldn't understand why Jackson wanted her so much and was willing to stick around when she was like that. I also wished there had been more romance and intimate moments between Jackson and Ivy. With a title like Nailed It, I would have expected more than what was in the book. I liked most of the secondary characters, but there was one in particular that I loathed.

I really wanted to like Nailed It, but it just didn't do it for me. I honestly mean no offense or disrespect to the author. It was not my intention to hurt her feelings and I'm truly sorry that I couldn't give this book a higher rating. Just because I wasn't a fan of this story doesn't mean someone else wouldn't like it. My opinion is only one of many, so please read the book and form your own opinions.

Ivy is the kind of girl who runs from relationships. Her chilhood was filled with different men while her mother tried to find "the one" and so Ivy is sure such a thing doesn't exist. She has rules and ways to make sure her heart stays intact, After all, she saw her mother touch bottom one to many times and the one friendship and Ivy's constant was lost when Dixie, her mother's best friend, started dating one of her mother exes.

Jackson is Ivy's best friends' brother. That is problem #1. Savannah was clear to leave her brother alone and Ivy can't risk losing her too. But the chemestry and attraction between the two is undenialable and she just can't let him go. Especially when Jackson is so determined to have her.

I really enjoyed the love between them. When we start, Ivy and Jackson had a fling, a few months back that ended badly and now things are rocky at best, but when Ivy decides to flip her chilhood house, Jackson comes to help.
This was kind of a tug war, Jackson pushes for more while Ivy tries to run. But he's the only men she has ever truly rely on and that scares her so much.

Cindi Madsen did a great job at portraying the house, I could see it, being transformed step by step while reading and it was agreat way to see how Ivy and Jackson relationship progressed to
Something I didn't like was how Jackson tried to fix her in a way. Maybe because Ivy felt it that way I felt it too but at some points I did got the impression he was pushing just to see if he could.

Nailed it is a great love story, I don't know if I'd call it a second chance type of book though. It full of funny moments (Cindi's trademark) and a heroin that needs some help but is easy to relate too. Jackson is a dream guy, not only can fix a house he's sweet and caring. I loved reading how Ivy found herself.

Nailed It is a perfect mix of comedy & seriousness, a light & easy read when you just need a little fun!

Ivy is the ultimate commitaphobe, even going as far as working as a bartender instead of deciding on a career. Growing up watching her mom hop from one guy to the next has left her completely void of any belief in love or happily ever after. But when she takes on a project that turns out to be way more than she can handle she is forced to face her past, present & future.

Jackson is gorgeous, successful, and avoiding his family's endless meddling and attempts to set him up. Loving his bachelor status & working as a successful contractor, Ivy & her issues are definitely not what he needs in his life. Once was enough, after all! When his sister, and Ivy's best friend, convinces him to help her renovate a house neither of them knows what they are getting themselves into.

Ivy & Jackson are the definition of frenemies, their hilarious banter laced with enough sexual tension to clear a room. I loved their relationship, hurling insults while trying to keep from ripping the others clothes off, each trying to keep the upper hand. I really enjoyed this story, and loved the characters. Their chemistry was ridiculously hot, and I couldn't help but smile at each jab they threw at each other.

Second chance romance with a best friend’s brother twist.

Nailed It is a second chance romance with a best friend’s brother twist. Laced with humour, the book still held an emotional undertone that made this well written book a fun and interesting read from start to finish. It does help to have read 12 Steps to Mr Right before this, as the characters are first introduced there, but it’s not crucial as this is a standalone in its own right.

Ivy is a feisty but strong woman but the chemistry between her and Jackson is one that is difficult to resist. Jackson was one of those sexy but sweet guys and was definitely the perfect guy to challenge Ivy in all the right ways and with just the right sensitivity when needed. This steadily paced book is told solely from Ivy’s point of view, which does limit things a little. Luckily, Jackson is one of those characters where even through just the female lead’s perspective, he can make you root for him.

If you enjoy home renovation style settings for a romance, or romantic comedies with emotional undertones in general, definitely give this a read!

Nailed It by Cindi Madsen is a sweet, fun, heartfelt and enjoyable read.

The storyline is engaging, the writing is well done, and the characters entertained me while watching them come together.
I enjoyed the way Ivy and Jackson's relationship unfolded, they made me laugh, they frustrated me and they made me swoon.
These two were good together, I was happy to see them get through Ivy's fears and insecurities to loving each other unconditionally.

Overall, Nailed It is a sweet and entertaining read that will keep you turning the pages and leave you with a smile on your face.
Another enjoyable read by Cindi Madsen.

I am a big fan of DIY and renovation tv shows so this book was right up my alley! I really enjoyed this second chance romance that had such awesome banter, insane chemistry between Jackson and Ivy and there is nothing sexier than a man who isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty!

If you’re after a fun, light rom-com then this is the book for you!

Heartwarming With All the Feels!
Great, fun and an engaging romance, that was so enjoyable to read. As well as a mixture of a couple of my favorite tropes Best Friend’s Big Brother and Enemies to Lovers Romance. A great mix of everything I adore in a story, humor, heart, animosity and heat.
Ivy Clarke tends bar, to make ends meet, and doesn’t believe in Love. How can she, after she has seen, the havoc and destruction love left in its wake, her whole life. Vulnerable and dysfunctional when it comes to relationships, unable to rely on others, she goes through her life keeping herself closed off. Her best friend Savannah, is disgustingly in love and engaged to Linc, and since she is going to be the maid of honor in their wedding, Ivy must try to get along with Savannah’s brother Jackson Gamble till the wedding is over. As long as she can stay away from him, she just might be able to ignore the way that Jackson’s drives her crazy in both irritation and turning her on. Seeing him at the engagement party with a date, they decide on a temporary truce. But when Ivy comes across a for sale sign, at the only place that had felt like home, her mother’s best friend, Dixies’, Victorian house, she comes up with a plan and convinces Dixie to let her renovate it and split the profits. But soon, Ivy is over her head, and Savannah surprises Ivy by sending her brother, Jackson to her rescue. As these two work closely together to renovate, will they be able to resist their attraction to one another? Will Jackson break down Ivy’s walls? You will need to read to find out. Great heartwarming read!

What do you do when you mother has shown you what a disaster love can be...Why after seeing said mother go threw numerous boyfriends, love matches and possible husbands like Kleenex, you vow to never ever commit to any man to make you Whole... You can do things all by yourself....

Well, sort of...maybe that one week with your best friend's brother really didn't count...

Anyway... on to blocking out all that made you cray, cray....

A good dose of HGTV Binge watching should do the trick.

And just when our gal thought she was setting herself straight and getting on with getting on... she sees her best memory home is for sale ...

Why that must be a sign... I mean how hard could a redo and flip be...
Her mom did it with guys... and now our gal decides to do it with this house...

Again... Can't be too hard, they do it all day long on HGTV....

So about that... ummm... not as easy as thought and coming to the rescue is that best friend's brother again... Only this time both of them are not all lovely dovey... more like snapping turtles.

This is a case of two who should just get over their hang ups and admit they are right for each other...

It is no secret by now that I’m a huge Cindi Madsen fan and read pretty much any book she writes and always look forward to her books. I’m also a sucker for second chance romance so when this came up for review it was a no-brainer for me. I enjoyed the characters, they both were well written , although Ivy at times seemed a bit more on the annoying site. But overall I enjoyed her and she was easy to relate to. Jackson was also enjoyable and very swoon-worthy, who also happens to be a funny but yet a bit cocky. I really enjoyed his side of the book/ The side characters were as much part of the story as the main, but didn’t take away from the main couple but perfectly complemented the main storyline. Overall. I really enjoyed this book. Some parts were a bit slower and a bit to predicable but still very fun to read. Another win for Cindi Madsen. I rate it 4 ★

I have an affinity for cheeky and entertaining. Cindi Madsen hit the nail on the head (pun intended) with Ivy and Jackson. Nailed It combines two of my worst addictions: HGTV and hilarious, steamy, heartwarming romance to create an irresistibly tempting renovation of the heart. The ultimate fixer upper has arrived and left a lasting impression on my heart.

Sexy handy man?? Yes please!!! Lets start off with the fact that the writing was excellent, you got so sucked into the book that you could practically feel what the character felt. Will Ivy get out of her own way and get over her commitment fear, so she and Jackson can be happy?? I loved this book, I hope you do also!! Happy reading!!!!

Nailed It by Cindi Madsen is a standalone romance novel.
Meet Ivy Clarke. She works as bartender and has serious commitment issues. When her childhood refuge is about to be sold, she proposes to flip the house. Thanks to HGTV she feels equipped to do so. But then she sees she´s way over her haed in this and she needs help. Help from Jackson Gamble, her nemesis. They can´t be in each others company without slinging insults, bicker, banter and playing pranks on each other.
Jackson wants a forever and the white picked fence with her. She fights that tooth and nail.
Nailed it is a beautifully thought out, beautifully written and beautifully told story. I love the writing, the words and tha characters.

Favorite Quote : " Every heart can be ready for a little rehabilitation. "
I recommend the book and give 5 stars. Thank you, Cindi Madsen !

LOVED this book! It's light, sexy, and fun. In true HGTV fashion renovations lead to a fantastic happily ever after.

Ivy and Jackson were such fun characters and the chemistry jumped from the pages. Most people would think they hated each other seeing as they can't be in the same room without snapping at each other. Yet when Ivy takes on a project that is well over her head she knows the only person she can turn to is Jackson. Who knew working together to renovate an old Victorian was a great way to work through your frustrations with a person!

Definitely a fun read and a book I highly recommend.

This was a good story, which for the most part I did enjoy. Although I must admit to being a little confused as to the premise of this story. As I wasn't sure if it was supposed to be a hate to love story or a second chance romance. And honestly it kind of got stuck somewhere in the middle.
As for the two main characters Jackson and Ivy. I thought they were likable. Certainly Jackson more so than Ivy who frustrated me a lot. Especially as she spends a lot of time trying to justify her life as a single girl and not believing in love or commitment. Even though I could understand where her issues came from. And I also didn't feel like there was much of a connection or any chemistry between the two of them either.
As for the actual story I found it extremely sweet, a little angsty at times. Yet overall it was really easy to read and I'm sure anyone whose read 12 Steps to Mr. Right will enjoy Nailed It too.

Remodeling a house can cause havoc in a marriage. What will it do this estranged couple? Will their romance rekindle or get completely destroyed? Lots of humor and spice along the way. Entertaining and engaging.. I know better than to watch the HGTV projects and think I can accomplish them. I was suckered in by Martha Stewart a couple of times. Wow! Those simple projects were not simple. I completed them, but they took forever and never to be repeated. So I could certainly relate to Ivy's difficulties during the remodel.

ivy clarke has rules against falling in love. 13 of them actually. her best friend savannah might be a dating coach with 12 ways to love, but ivy knows that her rules are better. they are meant to keep her heart safe in nailed it.

if only she hadn't gotten in way over her head in a house-flipping project. if only her only source of salvation weren't jackson gamble. if only her stupid body and heart wouldn't react every time jackson was in the same room with her. she tries to mask all her attraction with antagonism. but it's just an act.

and the more closely they work together it's inevitable that they'll end up in bed together. but jackson wants the real thing—love, commitment, and a happily ever after. and ivy knows that she'll never be able to give jackson what he wants. she's a mess. she has no idea what to do with her career. her mother continues to be an emotional timesuck. she's that girl from the wrong side of the tracks and there is no way that jackson's family would ever be happy with her pairing up with him.

jackson has to be the bigger man here. he has to have the faith for both of them. because ivy is just a little too broken, a little too afraid to admit that her heart is engaged. but will time be enough for ivy to realize that she's got everything backwards? that even if you try to avoid feelings, humans are built to have them?

the chemistry between jackson and ivy is off the charts, and there are some really sweet emotional beats between the two leads as they figure out their way to a happy ending. there's ups and downs, but it's a relationship that is worth sticking out, even when ivy is being super stubborn.

I loved this book! The story was well written and I loved the characters. I found the banter between Ivy and Jackson perfect and they were so relatable. I also greatly appreciate that there was chemistry and hot times between the characters without getting overly descriptive and raunchy.

Jackson and Ivy were such a mixed emotional read. I liked the story and both of their characters had stand-out moments that held this reader's attention. But, by far, Jackson's character stole the limelight. I liked Ivy's character, but the emotional tailspins tended to drag out a bit. The finale was awesome to read and a the story, as a whole, was great.
