I really liked this one!!!

I thought the characters were great, and the story even better! The author thought out the plot well, and definitely gave a lot of thought into the story line.

Although slightly predictable, this chick lit is full of charm and explores the difficulties of starting a new relationship well.
I sometimes felt a bit annoyed with the lead character Ashleigh as she seemed to make problems for herself. Mostly overthinking the small things and not necessarily listening to her gut feeling.
Ah enjoyable quick read that doesn’t require a lot of concentration.

It was sweet, but nothing more. The characters just made so much unnecessary problems and it was quite annoying. Just talk to each other! When they solved one problem, they would assume things and create another problem. And all of that because the characters didn't talk to each other.. Ashleigh was just really irritating. Why can't she just trust Dave. And the whole 'going to Ibiza' was just a minor event, which was a bummer.

This story was just all over the place and I didn't really like it.. It was also quite predictable.

Gut Feeling by Victoria Browne

3.5/5 Stars

Delightful easy to get lost in romcom.

Ashleigh a dental nurse, who after meeting Dave Croft, a gorgeous and kind window repaiman, finds herself in an impossible dilemma fight for her new romance or runaway to America where her family now lives.

Although I did enjoy the storyline, I found myself having to push forward from time to time. Some of Ashleigh's choices had me a tad frustrated. This is a lovely happy read, perfect for those days when you want to pick up something that's light and fast to read.

Thank you #netgalley and #nevillehousepublishing
For this book in exchange for my honest review.

This was a cute and short story so it didn't take long to read and was very easy to get into. It had a good plot and the story flowed well. For the most part, it was a light-hearted story, but there were some emotional ups and downs. The characters were enjoyable although Ashley was a little on the dramatic side. But that said, both characters were very relatable so that made the story all the more engaging. Plenty of humor, wit, and romance to keep you glued till the last page! When you're in the mood for a light-hearted chick lit, this is the book to read.

A very satisfying read!

This book is such a good story about the things women go through and the feelings we have while in relationships. Do you trust your gut? Or is it trying to steer you wrong? This book has you rooting for her and hoping that she finds her happiness.

I loved this book and have a huge love affair with New York - I always wish I had somehow managed to move there from the UK. But will have to just enjoy holidays instead :)

I was really invested in the characters in this story they had a bit of depth and were relatable. I find sometimes that books of this genre, the characters can be a bit vacuous.

Overall its quite a feel good book and if you like romcom/chicklit you will enjoy 😊

I enjoyed this book. It was a quick read. I liked the characters, especially Dave. I seen that someone mentioned in a review that they did not like that the assault was not dealt with in the book. Unfortunately, in real life I feel this probably happens a lot. It is unfortunate but true. The characters dealt with insecurities as many people do, which made them relatable. I received a copy from Netgalley for my honest opinion. I would recommend this book.

I picked the book because of its title, because l believe in going with your gut feeling and it didn’t disappoint. The heroine Ashleigh learned from her mistakes and grew stronger as a woman. Woman have man trouble in various forms and the loss of trust is a big one. Overcoming, doubt and trust to once again be vulnerable and open your heart takes a lot. Seeing the same thing from the males perspective is great to read. Good friends for support, finally meeting a good man and trusting your gut feelings is what this book is all about.

This is typical novel about a heartbroken girl whom is trying to find love again. I liked how she has the groups of friends to fall back and support her!
An easy read and didn’t take long! Perfect for a beach or holiday read.

Ashleigh Lands has given up the chance for a new life in America with her family, choosing to stay in London with her boyfriend, Lee Preston. When Lee cheats on her and quickly becomes an ex-boyfriend, Ashleigh loses herself in work and alcohol. Five months later, however, she’s ready for change and decides to reach for a new, empowered self.

When window glazier Dave Croft shows up for a job at the dental practice where Ashleigh works, the two hit it off immediately. Ashleigh is elated—has her luck in love finally changed? Lee has been harassing her in an attempt to get her back, but the more she falls for Dave, the more she leaves Lee in her past. With life looking up, Ashleigh heads to Ibiza for a girls’ holiday with her three best friends.

Ashleigh looks forward to reuniting with Dave after her trip, but reports of an encounter Dave had while she was in Ibiza makes her question his integrity—and her life choices. Should she believe his story, or is he a lying cheater like Lee? Is it time to join her family in America, or should she stay in England and give love one more chance?

Can she trust her gut feeling?

I had a great time reading this book and now I am looking forward to reading more books by the same author. Many many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for granting me access to this eARC.

Thank you very much for the chance to read this novel. I enjoyed both the story and the characters presented, it was a steadily moving read and one that I would happily recommend to others.

Easy to get into the story. Ashleigh had been let down in love by her ex-boyfriend Lee. Living the other side of the world from the whole of her family her friends were very important to her.
She was reluctant to get involved with anyone ever again. Along came Dave. Would Ashleigh trust her gut instinct and allow herself to fall in love again? You won’t be disappointed, a lovely read.

I received this book from Netgalley for free. It was a good book. I liked it. I understood so much of Dave's perspective, especially in relation to his rape. I literally went through so much of the same thought processes. I didn't love Ashleigh, though she wasn't a bad character, but there was a lot of repetition of thought. It felt unnecessary and the constant Lee intrusions were just over the top and aggravating. I liked this and it was a good plot but I didn't like how it dragged and how long it took.

Really enjoyed this novel. The writing flowed and the characters were depicted very well. Couldn't wait to find out what happens next.

I could totally relate to the characters in this book and thoroughly enjoyed it. I laughed out loud some along the way and also loved the romantic part of it.

Very amateurish writing and execution. Most of this book presents as a recitation after the fact, with the events tying the story together being told in a perfunctory fashion. You see the characters but don't hear from them. You are told that they "did 'X'" or "said Y'" but none of it is described through actions or dialogue. The characters interactions come in short bits of stilted dialogue amongst pages of 'telling' and almost no 'showing.' There is perhaps a third of the dialogue that there should be. So, the result is a feeling of distance because the reader isn't allowed to connect to the story or the characters.

Even if it weren't for the obvious problems mentioned above, I still wouldn't be able to favourably critique this book due to the heroine. I've made it a point many times over to state that as a woman reading a book from what is considered a woman's genre and most of the time narrated by the heroine's voice, I will instinctively try to relate to the heroine. If I can't do so, it adversely affects my experience of a book, no matter how good the story might be. I need to be able to respect and relate to a heroine. I need that heroine to be well-developed and behave according to her character. Straight away, I had issues with this one.
The characters all have pretty straightforward names - Rachel, Gemma, Lee, Dave, Peter, etc. You get the point. But then we have the heroine. Ashleigh. Ashleigh? First off, ugly spelling and this comes from someone with a Gaelic first name (shortened to a nickname), and second, self-involved much?
Well, yes, as it turns out. Not only is the heroine completely self-absorbed, she's immature, insecure, weak and indecisive, not to mention beyond needy. A real 'stage 5 clinger' in the making. She jumps to all kinds of conclusions and stubbornly refuses to listen to reason, preferring to wallow in self-pity and thereby allowing others to step in and manage her life for her. She's like a spoilt 16-year-old rather than a woman of 27.
And I could get around that if she began that way and grew the heck up. But she doesn't and at the books end I saw no reason to believe she'd learned her lesson and changed.
She got what she wanted, but I pity the poor hero, Dave. He definitely got the short end of the stick here. In the land of romance HEA, hopefully he will wise up and cut his losses before he actually marries this woman and sentences himself to a life of misery.
I didn't enjoy this book and wouldn't recommend it.

I received a copy of this title from NetGalley in exchange for feedback. All of my reviews are my own honest opinion and I receive no compensation.

I don't know if it was me or the writing but I was so bored. I kept trying to get into it and felt at arm's length the whole time.

This book was a good read to begin with but I found it difficult to like the main character. I liked the other characters but I found the main character over reacted all the time, which made an annoying read at times. I also found that there seemed to be parts that dragged alot, like the holiday part. It didn't flow right at times as it seemed to jump alot with the different storylines. I finished the book but found I lost interest in what happened in the end. Not a book I would recommend. X
