Gut Feeling is a cute book about doubting yourself, your feelings and your significant other. It moves at a comfortable enough pace that allows the reader to understand the why’s of the doubts and to hope for a happy ending.
The main female character, Ashleigh, stayed in London when her family moved to the US. Her reason for staying was to be with her boyfriend but he dumps her and leaves her devastated. Enter Dave who she meets when he comes to fix a window at her work. They hit it off but complications and misunderstandings mar the path to a whole relationship.

A great little chic-lit holiday read for me - not my usual genre of book as I love psychological thrillers, but this does the job nicely of taking you away into another world!
Fairly typical love story with an annoying ex lurking in the background, new love, trust issues, break ups and finally love wins out. Yes a simple story but enjoyable none the less!
Many thanks to netgalley for an arc of this book in return for my honest review.

Gut Feeling by Victoria Browne is your typical chick lit romantic comedy.
Ashleigh is a dental nurse who has fled New York and lives in London.. She has also been cheated by her ex boyfriend and after too many parties and hangovers decides it is time to turn her life around. She meets Dave and love is borne. Along the way we get to meet her friends and go on a holiday to Ibiza.
Even though this is usually genre I like I found this book a bit bland. Nothing to distinguish it from millions of others of its kind.
I also though main character too indecisive and a bit needy. There was also constant repetition of her musings that I didn't particularly appreciate.
I felt that love scenes were somehow cut short while other scenes were necessarily put into the book.
I liked how we got to see both of Ashleigh's and Dave's perspective.

I enjoyed the storyline, even as it stretched believability from time to time. I didn't notice any typos as another reviewer mentioned, however my book came from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This is a lovely happy read, perfect for those days when one just needs something positive. I read it in a single sitting, and the action moves quickly. I love Ashleigh's friends - their personalities are well drawn and add to the sense that I am hearing this story from my 20-something neighbor.

It was a very cute read. Typical chick lit kind of story with relationship drama and trying to discover oneself. I had a hard time getting into the book, because I like the main characters I can envision myself being friends with and that was not Ash. Her last relationship left her feeling a bit insecure and I just wanted to shake her from time to time and tell her to ironically "trust your gut, girl". Like I said, cute book. If you need a quick summer read pick this up.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a great story and the author did a fantastic job of keeping me locked in this one. The main character (Ashleigh) is a U.S. native living in England and like most women, looking for Mr. Right. She is independently living a life away from her family and thinks she has found what she so desperately seeks but there are few obstacles that she must first face where she has learned to trust her instincts (her gut).
This is my first read from this author and I after reading this one I would like to read more. Thank you for this wonderful read. It was quite memorable!

This is basically a story about learning to trust your on instinct AKA gut feeling. It does hit on a few topics that should have trigger warnings though; rape, and abusive relationships. I liked that these were included as it was done in a way that makes you think about the dangers, and highlighted related issues that aren't often mentioned in other books. e.g. male rape victims, and the dangers of sharing other people's information without their consent.
The main character Ashleigh was a bit too pathetic at times. I really wanted to grab her and give her a good slap to snap her out of it. I loved when she showed just how a good a friend she was though. I had a bit of a love/hate relationship with her character. I also felt that more could have been done with Lee, especially considering what a big role he had in the plot of the book.
Dave was great, but the real stars were the extra characters. Strangely the "extras" were stronger characters than the main characters.
Over all it was a good read.

I found this book to be just okay read. The plot looks very cliched. It is a very standard story. The girl suffers heartbreak , wallow in her sorrow and tries to find her identity. I could not find much novelty in the plot and was slightly disappointed.

I enjoyed this book, it’s an easy read, light hearted and full of humour. I like that the story is told from Ashleigh’s and Daves perspective too. It’s a bit predictable but, you know, sometimes you just want a happy ending!

Enjoyable read. It stared out a little slow, got some better in the middle and slowed down again. I read it but was glad I got to review it. Nothing too heavy so I would consider this book a little read with no a lot of plot.

This was a really fun book to read. Loved the background characters and hope that there will be follow up books on some of them. My only issue was the end of the book. It would have been nice to have a bit of an epilogue for this story.

This book is ideal if you like your chick lit, great holiday read with likable characters

I enjoyed this book although at times things seemed a bit unrealistic. Put that aside and it was very readable and being on holiday I finished it in a day

This was one of those stories where a lot of things keep happening but nothing actually leads up to any one thing, or character. Ashleigh and Dave were almost two-dimensional and didn’t bother me at all. Ashleigh was a bit irritating with the whole I-hope-he-likes-me wonderings that must’ve probably got her brain tired, because I was too tired after a while. Dave fell flat to me because while his point of view was narrated, he didn’t come alive at all. He worked as a love interest to the girl...and that’s it. Plus, whenever the romance took a center-point for the development of these characters, the fluff scenes took a front seat and weren’t much fun to read either. They seemed unnecessary most of the time and almost always drew me out. At least the romance could’ve worked if it was given as much time as Ashleigh wondering whether Dave likes her or not. The nest would be my personal take on this but while Dave was this perfect man who’s hot and understanding...I didn’t like how perfect he was. I know, I know, I love a good guy too but dude, you gotta be flawed for me to like you so Dave, sadly, didn’t amuse me much.

I believe this book was a first for this author and evidence throughout the book points to that conclusion. The story is about a self deprecating, brave young woman Ashleigh, who chose love over family, had regrets later about that decision and is now untrusting of her ability to make wise choices in her life. The dialogue for the most part was bland and the constant ,repetitive , juvenile musings by the main character only managed to slow the pace of the story.Despite these flaws, the author managed in a circuitous way, to convey the storyline nonetheless.I found no urgency to complete the book , but I did not , not want to finish it, as the subject was interesting enough and a few of the supporting characters were intriguing in their own way.The hero Dave, had a twin that I felt totally disgusted by and would have rather not met at all,he is such a complete contrast to his brother. The story wrapped up quickly with the typical "aha" moment and the race to make things right and find happiness before it flies away.Overall this was a decent read with a title and cover art that was truly inspired and appropriate.

I adore a good #ChickLit title and this one definitely fits the bill.
Ashleigh Lands has had a terrible run of luck with love. While her family has started a new, posh life in America, she stayed behind in England for a guy. A guy who turned out to be a cheating cad.
Through her work, she meets a new guy who turns her head and has her thinking maybe, just maybe, she will find true love. Dave seems like the real deal and the more she falls for him the easier it is for her to refuse her ex's advances.
But then the bubble bursts when she overhears Dave's roommate talking about a night while Ashleigh was on her girl's trip. She's now ready to call it quits for England and move to America where her family now resides.
Like all ChickLit, this one has a dash of romance and just enough tension to keep things interesting. If you are looking for a quick read that has a bit of fun, then check it out. Just don't expect deep character development (and some might say Ashleigh is a bit spoiled as Daddy still pays most of her bills!)

Normally I love this kind of book and I’m willing to suspend belief to be swept up in a good romance. However, this book stretched realism a little too far. I didn’t quite buy into Ashleigh’s story and the book fell a little short in terms of character development. That said, it was a quick read and may have done the trick as a “beach read”. I’m grateful to NetGalley for the chance to read this book.

I skim read most of this to finish it. Not a great read, too drawn out in many places and the issues seemed immaturely handled. In fact, some of it was pretty insulting and offensive.

This story was easy to read but predictable, the style of writing was a bit hard to follow at first, slightly over descriptive but the pace was good.
Ashleigh the main character was a bit annoying, too placid, no fire, a little too nice really but she did suit the story.
I much preferred her friends who brightened up the plot.
I really didn't like Lee and although I warmed to Dave, I found him also too good to be true, the ending was satisfactory however.
Worth a read if you want a breezy novel which you don't have to think about too much.

Thanks Netgalley and the Publisher. Loved it !!!!! Another brilliant read, would recommend this to anybody who enjoys chick lit.
