Gut Feeling by Victoria Browne is a fun quick read but don't expect any deep enlightenment. The character development in this novel fell a bit short in my opinion. Ashleigh was struggling with trust issues due to her past relationship with Lee. We really don't get to know Lee a lot other than him showing up once in a while trying to re-stake a place in Ashleigh's heart. I felt the deepest connection to Dave. We get to know who he is, what he is thinking and why he feels the way he does. These things are important to making a connection with a character, especially the protagonist. Another downside for me was the plot; or lack thereof. There just wasn't enough conflict. When I finished Gut Feeling I couldn't really tell you what went on in the book. Ashleigh and Dave's relationship felt like it was only a week along and then all the sudden it was time to wrap up the book.

With my negatives, I actually did enjoy the funny, witty moments that Ashleigh had. I would definitely not hesitate to pick up another one of Victoria Browne's novels, I just might not recommend this one to all my friends.

I want to thank NetGalley and the Publisher for a chance to read Gut Feeling.

At 60% on my Kindle I finally gave up on this book. This story was so meandering, and I kept waiting for something, anything to happen. Some beefs: Why does Ashleigh keep obsessing over her ex when she has said time and again he was a bad guy? Why do we skip directly from Ashleigh and Dave meeting to their being in a relationship? The best fun of a romance is participating vicariously as the relationship unfolds, not just taking it for granted because the author said so.

Poor Ashleigh feels like she's the black sheep of her rich family because she didn't move to New York with her family, instead staying behind for a romance that ended up failing. Every woman can relate to Ashleigh in feeling insecure in a relationship and questioning life decisions. The fact that Ashleigh could be anyone made this an quick and easy book to read.

Highly entertaining. It has everything: laugh out loud moments, romance... I quickly got hooked up on the story.

Caveat! I did not finish this book.

I wanted to like this book very much, especially after reading the author's note at the beginning of the book. Unfortunately, I could not. It was the content I had problems with. Specifically, the way of life of both main characters; their professions and lifestyle did not add up realistically. This threw me off.

Short, cute little romance. book. Good book to read on the beach. This book includes "British" slang, which was hard for me to understand.
